I’m definitely fascinated by masculine fragrances featuring lavender and cedar. It could easily seem like another typical sugary gourmand scent, but NO: this Roberto Cavalli Uomo has a citrusy and deep touch that makes it stand out, even if it’s not a huge revelation.
Exquisite! I opened it like a kid with a new toy and fell in love at first sight. I thought it smelled like Bvlgari Man In Black, but upon testing, it wasn’t—maybe just a distant memory tricked me. It’s a calm, sophisticated scent with citrus notes, milky caramel with rum, and hints of tobacco, mint, and leather (even though the official pyramid doesn’t list them, maybe my nose is just burned!). I’d wear it at night in winter or autumn, but also on those crisp spring evenings. For me, it’s very sensual, perfect for dates. The price-to-quality ratio is excellent; I recommend it.
Exquisite! I received it and tested it immediately: love at first sight. I thought it smelled like Bvlgari Man In Black, but comparing them showed it wasn’t; perhaps just a memory deceived me. This was the typical perfume that perfumed me at El Corte Inglés. I liked the bottle and it gave me good sensations. Today, a friend who sells perfumes told me Roberto Cavalli Uomo was 44.10€ for 100ml, so I bought it. Upon putting it on, it gives the sensation of having heard it before, reminding me of Paco Rabanne Black XS, but it’s a personal impression. What stands out is that rich, sweet nuance and an interesting base that reminds me of leather, which I like. Especially its longevity. It’s floral, with light oriental notes and leather nuances. Something linear but as a whole: it has longevity, it’s timeless, rich in nuances, and it’s a pleasure to wear. Well-done work with excellent quality/price ratio.

Roberto Cavalli, Italian designer born in Cavriglia (Tuscany) in 1940. At three years old, he witnessed the execution of his father by Nazis, an event that marked his life. His carved black bottle is as beautiful as the fragrance: dark, smoky, mysterious, enveloping, warm, and woody gourmand. It’s curious: at first, it barely makes a presence, seeming to carry nothing. But by the hour, when others fade, Cavalli Uomo unfolds its wings with parsimony and elegance. Very in line with the gothic, romantic, nocturnal style. Funeral violets over a sleeping body, with uncorrupted beauty. That violet accord (black) with spiced saffron links with lavender honey, suitable for a funeral feast. A fruity note evokes ripe black cherries for the deceased’s crown. It wraps in a smoky woody tone: incense cedar, black patchouli like jet, quality blonde tobacco, and tonka bean sweetness with avetivered cocoa reminiscences. The curious part is the intensity after the first few hours. Distinguished perfume, elegant, with class. It’s perceived but not intrusive, sophisticated and restrained. Women can wear it perfectly; thirty years ago it was considered more feminine. Ideal for young addicts to sweet woody scents without the shamelessness of super-sweet ones. Price-quality-performance ratio highly recommended.
Very masculine and noticeable. I like it a lot.
Roberto Cavalli Uomo is a man sitting on the sofa, with an ashtray and a half-full glass of whisky. He’s divided his letters into two piles: those he wrote but never sent, and those written to him that never arrived. He watches the afternoon fall and shadows color the last golden hues of the sun. He thinks of old friends, kissed women, and things that made him happy, while understanding that life is losing until nothing remains. It’s a dark, very dark, introspective, openly masculine, and decadent fragrance. It sets itself apart from the current woody gourmand trend to present funeral violets over soft, sweet, golden, herbaceous, almost bitter tobacco. In the middle, 19th-century wooden furniture where poems were once written. Affordable, it delivers what its dark, sturdy bottle promises. It joins the club of vampiric aromas alongside Narciso Rodríguez Him, Encre Noire, or Lapidus Black Extreme. Moderate-to-high performance, ready to wrap the day like a silk negligee. Sublime.
Just received. I’d describe it as a mix between Ted Lapidus Black Extreme and Moschino Toy Boy, but softer. Violet, old woods, and papyrus, an exclusive blend. It has a feminine touch. A 7.5/10.
Refinement, delicacy, a great scent that always plays second fiddle: it’s not flashy but very elegant. It’s worth every penny; in fact, I think it has a very low price for the quality it exudes. A very pleasant blind buy.

Roberto Cavalli Uomo: deep, dark, and sensual in its own way, with a sweet, floral, and woody touch. It has a sublime, powdery floral facet that performs superbly, carrying an air of seriousness that charms and sparks curiosity. It’s a complete, rounded, and magnificent work in the Italian style. A hidden gem, definitely first-class. Scent rating: 10. Projection: max 3 hours, then it stays close to the skin. Longevity: 6 hours on skin, 8 on clothes. A masterpiece, highly recommended.
Roberto Cavalli Uomo: Deep, dark, and sensual in its own way, a bit sweet, floral, and woody. It has a sublime, powdery floral part that develops superbly. It carries a serious seal that enchants and sparks curiosity. I love this work in pure Italian style: complete, round, and magnificent. A hidden gem, definitely first-class. Scent: 10/10. Projection: max 3 hours, then drops to skin-level. Longevity: 6 hours on skin, 8 on clothes. A masterpiece. Recommended.
Sometimes designer perfumery surprises you when you least expect it. An elegant black bottle in the window display, and suddenly it captures your attention. Cavalli has the potential to stand out, and this Uomo is proof. Love at first sniff with a sweet prelude. I sense soft honey and a floral note soaked in lavender, wonderful. The base of cedar and patchouli is a caress thanks to the tonka. It’s sweet and floral, but in a masculine way, with a notable violet that makes it for night, though it also works during the day. The floral transforms into constant sweetness. The only downside is longevity: 5 hours on skin, not bad for the level, but a little extra spray on clothes helps. Very beautiful, sensual, elegant, and underestimated. Perfect for autumn or winter nights with sweet company.
“So great a love of flowers and the glory of producing honey’ Virgil once wrote. If he were among us, he would be amazed by the beauty of Roberto Cavalli Uomo, with a unique honey that takes you to dark, gothic, and sweet places. Without a doubt, it’s for the night, when the drop in temperature is felt. The woods are noble, hidden under a floral opening that accompanies without overwhelming. I find a certain resemblance to Lanvin Avant Garde; it would be its ‘dark’ sibling. A nocturnal bird with its own song. Don’t hesitate to try it; it’s absolutely beautiful.
As Virgil wrote about bees, ‘So great a love of flowers and glory of creating honey.’ If the poet were here, he’d be amazed by Roberto Cavalli Uomo: a fragrance with a unique honey that takes you to dark, gothic, yet sweet places. Ideal for cold nights when the sun has set. The woods are noble, hidden under a floral opening that accompanies without overwhelming, lulls without sleeping. It reminds me of Lanvin Avant Garde; it would be its ‘dark’ brother. A nocturnal bird with its own song. Try it, it’s absolute beauty.
After a night of drinking, this synthetic scent that evaporates in seconds leaves you with just lavender and wood. Forget real violets like in Dior Fahrenheit; here the chemistry is brutally artificial. Plus, it lasts just enough: 2-3 hours on skin (if you’re generous) and a bit more on clothes if you get close. Would I buy it again? No. Would I recommend it blindly? Not either. They probably reformulated it, and this is just the shadow of what it used to be. What a pity.
In this case, the ‘reminds me of’ section serves little purpose; they’re missing the Dior Parfums, their flankers, and dupes. It’s true it also resembles Ted Lapidus’s Poker Face quite a bit, though the latter is a bit weaker. It’s sweet and floral, but in a masculine way; that touch of flowers and lavender gives it freshness. After a while, you notice the woody honey. A pleasant surprise upon discovering it.
I have to talk about this perfume; they say it’s the Dracula one and I get the comparison: it’s cold and dark. The first time I smelled it, it transported me to an alleyway on a freezing winter night with a leather jacket; violet dominates, but the dry-down leaves a very rich honey.
The point of ‘this fragrance reminds me of…’ is to suggest a distinct alternative, but people keep posting flankers or perfumes from the same line. It’s obvious it’s going to resemble the flankers.
Hello, honestly, it’s a scent that resists being ordinary; it doesn’t fall into the typical sweet-honey trap. It has that trail that envelops you and makes you unable to resist trying it. It’s for occasions 🍂
What keeps this from being one of the most used scents is that it doesn’t come from a house like Dior or Chanel. I really like the violet and honey; to me, it’s floral but with a woody touch. Definitely for autumn/winter. I love it and the value is top-notch. 8.5/10
Just got a batch from 2016 and this is a bomb; time might have played against it, but holy cow, the formula lasted from midnight last night until I woke up now… what a shame about the reformulations. Rich, elegant, and sweet without being cloying, perfect for going out at night or wearing formally while moderating the sprays.
A perfume different from everything I own, with personality and distinction, very elegant and masculine. Decent longevity, about 6-7 hours. I highly recommend it if you want to step away from mass-market scents. Scent note: 8.5, performance: 8, value: 9.5. Would repurchase: 👍
You have to try this if you like violets 👌
In the stereotype of the sexy, elegant man with a penetrating, hypnotic gaze that steals looks through posture and masculinity, this is the perfume. Every woman who smells it closes her eyes, smiles, and imagines this Italian sharing his lust. Saffron, honey, and violets work magic so she still feels him when she wakes up. A work of art, sensuality, and sexuality in a bottle.
A scent worthy of its own dynasty, with such a peculiar blend that it brushes against niche territory. Its vibe is vampiric, but new wave: think Blade or a modern Dracula running shady businesses, hiding behind the facade of an electronic club in Prague, Bratislava, or Budapest. Saffron and violet make it somber, but honey modernizes it with a mischievous twist. Top-tier performance, but the opening is so brutal I only wear it at night, in the cold, with a black shirt and the top button undone; if it were Dracula, he’d be sporting a profane gold chain. Flawless price-quality-originality, impossible not to recommend.
