Oh, what a subtle scent. It has three well-defined phases. The opening is a sweet citrus from the mandarin, juicy and pleasant. Then a very striking neroli appears; yes, there’s jasmine and rose, but the neroli is the main protagonist, practically shouting ‘here I am’. The dry down is slightly woody, but without highlighting the woods, rather the flowers: NEROLI. If you like neroli, this is the one. I compare it to Michael Kors and May Way, and I own all three: Quatre en Bleu shines on its own but leans closer to the Gucci Bloom range. Maybe people confuse it with those others because of the neroli. The trail is low to moderate; if someone gets close, they smell lovely woody neroli. Happy with the purchase, got it at a good price.
I bought it blindly thanks to a great deal and because I already love Boucheron perfumes. Upon wearing it, I thought, ‘Is this Gucci Bloom?’. They are very similar. I tested it on the other hand and compared them for hours. The neroli intensity is similar, though here it’s more moderate. The difference only shows when it dries: Quatre en Bleu turns into a clean woody scent with musky sandalwood, while Bloom keeps the neroli. The longevity is good and the price isn’t outrageous. A great option if you like Bloom-style florals, but at a lower cost.
