Boucheron was founded by Frédéric Boucheron in Paris in 1858. The first shop was at the Palais-Royal; in 1893, the house moved to 26 Place Vendôme, an address still linked with the brand.

Fragrance arrived in 1988, when Boucheron presented its first perfume in a ring-shaped bottle. The current catalog brings together eaux de parfum and other concentrations alongside jewelry.
