  • It’s been a while since I bought a Givenchy, as since Very Irresistible they’ve been bringing rather uninteresting fragrances. This floral-oriental is a great reason to restart the relationship. The bottle is polished ceramic, a deep violet like a slim iPod with a metallic ribbon like frost. At first glance, anyone would think it’s for night parties or young girls (which isn’t bad), but don’t let the packaging fool you! Inside is a highly noticeable eau de parfum. It’s not just for parties, lights, and music, but also for quiet outings with friends or a partner, intimacy, dinners, wine nights, or cold afternoons and mornings. I was looking for an orchid I liked and found it in Play Intense. The tiare is the main note, present all the time, which I love; it adds allure, femininity, and sensuality. I detect tonka bean and delicate white cuaba. On the skin, the benzoin is prominent with a touch of peach. The sandalwood and patchouli are discreet and complementary. I don’t perceive the pink pepper, but I suppose they add their vibe because I feel very comfortable. The dry down is like soft incense or spiced floral smoke, like chocolatey vanilla. I think it would work well with smokers, making an interesting blend. The fixative and longevity are excellent; it lasts me more than 10 hours (I reapply just for the pleasure of feeling soaked in it). I can go to bed and still smell it in the morning before showering. I enjoy it quite a bit, something fresher.

  • Azuriiita, I agree with you. Except on the bottle, where we disagree. It doesn’t seem to be up to Givenchy’s standard to me, but otherwise, same thing.

  • danielacucuzza

Azuriiita said it all; it’s super sensual and I absolutely love it. It smells like nothing else, it’s one of a kind. Perfect for orchid lovers who want to stand out.

  • It’s one of my favorites: totally sexy without being cloying. You can wear a lot and it doesn’t suffocate. Above all, it lasts; I wear it at night and in the cold because I feel it lasts longer on my skin.

  • I tried it by chance in the store. I was dizzy from all the tests, sprayed it on my hand to smell it later, and ran out. I got home with nausea, went for a bike ride, showered, and forgot about it. Days later, when I approached my bike, I noticed a delicious scent and stuck to the handlebars. How rich and intense! It still smelled days later. I didn’t remember which one it was, so I went to the store; the clerk recognized it immediately because it had soaked into my hand. Unmatched! It lasts forever, intense to the limit. I love it and people always ask what I’m wearing. It’s sweet but not cloying, warm, sensual, and unique.

  • I bought it practically blind today. What a marvel, what elegant, what sexy, what chic.

  • What a tragic ending with this perfume! Months ago, while looking for oriental scents, I noticed it because the bottle attracted girls like me. I liked the description: elegant, sensual, different. I got excited smelling it on blotting paper: it smelled like incense and flowers, unisex and perfect. But my brain screamed, ‘Try it on your skin!’ I tested it and loved it at first, but within minutes it smelled like cardboard. It didn’t work. The worst part was the dizziness and headache it gave me. It vanished in 3 hours. I lost. While others love it, it did nothing for me. I’ll get over it 🙁

  • What a tragic ending to my story with this perfume. Months ago, upon discovering my tastes leaned towards the oriental family, I searched for perfumes in that group. I came across this one, whose bottle seemed to attract any ‘young girl’ like me. What attracted me more was the description of the women who wore it: elegant, sensual, different. I got excited and decided to look for it. I first met it on a blotter sample: it smelled of incense and flowers, something unisex, which I love. I loved it and added it to my list. But my brain screamed: ‘Smell it on your skin first!’. A few months later, I went to the perfumery and applied it to my skin. At first, it was the scent I remembered, my infatuation almost made me buy it. But, what do you think? After a few minutes, I smelled cardboard. Yes, just like you’re reading. It didn’t work. The worst came after: it gave me terrible dizziness, a headache, and vanished completely in 3 hours. I lost out. While there are perfumes that work well on me but not on others, this time it was the reverse: I see everyone had a happy ending with this, but not me. I’ll get over it someday.

  • It’s not the same as Play for Her; the Intense version is very different. It’s a night scent, packed with patchouli, pepper, and sandalwood. The florals and peach are barely noticeable, and there’s no citrus. Ideal for a punk girl: radiant and strong. I love the Pink and White from this line, but I’ll never wear the Violet under any circumstances.

  • This is richer than Play Rosa, although it doesn’t last as long as Play for Her. It’s sweet, but I find it common and it doesn’t stand out.

  • I tried it today and it’s elegant; the longevity is good, though not top-tier. Maybe I’ll buy it later.

  • Givenchy’s Play For Her Intense is a very peculiar fragrance. Its bottle looks unserious, yet it’s a very intense and deep perfume. Great for winter or night outings. Its trail is moderate, but longevity is excellent; it lasts as much on skin as on fabric. I recommend it for women 25 and up. Oriental essences are what linger on skin while florals fade. On my skin, I detect mint, anise, and orange blossom in the opening, along with pink pepper and peach; in the heart, magnolia and tiare flower mix well with sandalwood and patchouli, which help it persist and avoid feeling juvenile. Undoubtedly, the woody notes are very perceptible; it must be white cuaba. It’s a charming perfume; men who smelled it liked it a lot. For me, it’s sexy; it makes you feel secure, like a woman moving forward with goals. I recommend it to confident women. Don’t be fooled by the bottle, and it doesn’t resemble the pink Play. Try it and let me know.

  • VainillaDulce

Play Intense has pleasantly surprised me. Looking at the bottle, I imagined it for teenagers, but no, it’s elegant, opulent, and deep, very balanced. First, I smell sweet peach, then the delicious tiare flower and the elegant orchid send the peach to the background. Then comes the unmistakable tonka bean, powdery, elegant, and deep, accompanied by benzoin, sandalwood, and patchouli. On my skin, the orchid, tonka bean, and benzoin lead; it makes me feel so sensual. It’s for wearing well-dressed, formal occasions, at night, perfect for cold days. Play Intense is beautiful, it stands out, it has character, and it walks its own path, very chic. Its trail and longevity are moderate on my skin. I recommend it totally.

  • Play Intense is elegant, sexy, yet to a certain point tender, warm, and cozy, ideal for cold days or night outings. It’s one of my blind buys and I don’t regret it at all; I would buy it again without a doubt.

  • Play Intense is elegant and sexy, but also somewhat tender, warm, and cozy—ideal for cold days or night outings. It’s one of my blind buys, and I have no regrets; I’d definitely buy it again.

  • A friend lent me hers, and I’m testing it on a blotter. I find it in the style of Cavalli Nero Assoluto, Jimmy Choo Illicit (I think this is the sweetest of all), CK Euphoria… Those dark, floral-woody sweetnesses, velvety, warmly seductive. (For those missing it, you can explore those scents…) I like it; if they gave it to me or I found it at a great price, I’d probably use it. But since I already have Nero Assoluto and Play Intense is discontinued, I’d probably put my money on another bet before buying this…

  • CYNTHIA1980

I absolutely loved it. It’s elegant, sober, sweet; a perfect balance between fruity, floral, and woody notes. It opens with a spicy pink pepper alongside juicy, sweet peach; you can smell the orchid. It evolves to become more floral, where tonka bean, patchouli, and benzoin enter to give it strength and magnetism. It’s a gem. If it’s similar to Jimmy Choo, I find this one more elegant and floral. It has a moderate trail, quite good longevity, and you enjoy it from the start; its evolution and dry-down are top-notch.

  • One of my favorite perfumes. What a pity they discontinued it. For those looking for a similar one, I recommend Natura’s Luna Intense; it’s very close.

  • alejandra Basualto

What a shame it’s no longer available; it was a perfumon… thanks to some reviews, I could smell that scent again, just without its pink pepper and intense wood that gave it the special touch. The rest is the same. Thanks, Natura Luna Intense, I hope you never let me down!

I first met the classic Play for Her in Panama 10 years ago. A rich, easy-to-wear, attractive, pleasant day fragrance that was elegant at night—Justin Timberlake made it more than the ads ever did. It wasn’t my favorite, but when I traveled abroad for a month, I brought it for its versatility and didn’t mind it wearing out. When I heard it was discontinued, it became my obsession, especially after reading that the ‘Intense’ flanker had the same base but was more intense. It was my new goal without ever having smelled it. I searched everywhere but it was super discontinued. Finally, on a shady outlet perfume site selling testers without boxes at half price ($27,900), I took a risk. The bottle looked like it came from a war zone and I hated using it, but it was definitely the fragrance: the aroma of my original but stronger, with the same longevity. I’m happy, though I wrote an indignant letter to the seller about the horrific presentation! 🥴🫣. Beautiful trail, longevity, and projection. More usable at night, but it looks gorgeous on fresh days. I don’t know what brands are thinking when they discontinue gems like this 😤

  • I loved this perfume. Super sexy, addictive, nocturnal, with great projection and it lasted forever on skin, clothes, and sheets. What a shame it’s discontinued. But a while back, I discovered Natura’s Luna Intense; although it’s not the same, it reminded me of it quite a bit ♥

  • I wore the pink Play in my 20s, but it didn’t last or project well; I only thought it looked pretty. Recently, I stumbled upon this discontinued Play Intense and bought it out of nostalgia. It definitely lasts and projects better than the pink version; the white florals really shine through. It doesn’t overwhelm me—it’s feminine and makes me feel like a princess. It smells like Si Passione, pink pepper with pineapple, but this one is pink pepper with peach. If you find it, buy it; it’s a gem 🙂
