I tried it on paper today, and seeing ‘Sport’ in the name, I already imagined a citrus, herbal, aquatic flank—basically boring and generic. And that’s exactly what it is. One sniff and I tossed it aside. I don’t like it; it smells like hundreds of other perfumes on the market. It’s perfect for the average guy looking for something fresh and sporty without a fuss, but it’s not for me.
Exactly… If you’re looking for a citrus scent (totally lime), this is ideal for you. I agree with Ambrelover: it’s totally generic; any perfume catalog could have a similar one. The only difference is that at the end, you can perceive the musk. The image in my mind is a guy running, sweating, and smelling like lime :C

Very natural and refreshing citrus scent (tangerine/orange/lime) with a touch of mint and ginger. Similar to Clinique Happy and also has a bit of Big Pony 1. Limited projection and normal longevity; if you put it in a ‘performance test’ against most fragrances, it loses, but I think you have to see it within a context and within the PLAY line, and that’s where it wins. There are moments, for example of extreme heat, where I only feel comfortable wearing something like this or nothing at all, as something more complex becomes annoying, for me and for the people around me. Even other fragrances I own with the ‘SPORT’ designation (Dior, Code Athlete, Allure Extreme, CH) are too potent for those moments. I think Givenchy did perfectly with this line, and I believe if someone started from scratch, this line covers most usage scenarios: Play for most of the time, Play Intense for winter and special moments, and Sport when the temperature rises significantly.
Very natural and refreshing citrus scent (tangerine, orange, lime) with a touch of mint and ginger. It reminds me of Clinique Happy and has a bit of Big Pony 1. The projection is contained and the longevity is average; if you compare it to others, it loses, but within the Play line, it shines. There are moments, like when it’s very hot, where I only feel comfortable with this or nothing, because something more complex bothers me. Other ‘Sport’ fragrances (Dior, Code Athlete, etc.) are too potent for that. I think Givenchy did exactly right with this line: Play for everything, Play Intense for winter and special moments, and Sport when the temperature rises.
I can’t say it’s bad, but it is very generic. ‘Modernity’ just didn’t sit well with Givenchy; they wanted to conquer the youth market and failed with the final product. If I want a Givenchy ‘youthful and generic’ scent, I’d prefer a Lomani or a Jean Arthes, which are much cheaper and have more variety. Pass, gentlemen of Givenchy.

It seems funny that they charge so much for this EDT; it’s a fairly common scent, not bad at all, but today among thousands of perfumes launched by different fashion houses, this is just another fresh one, with explosive and striking notes at first sniff, but that fades over time… disappears. I don’t understand the point of creating such an expensive charm for just two hours… It generally happens with fragrances named SPORT. I think it could serve someone who likes soft scents that don’t clog the nose; I’ve met several people who hate perfumes, and when they use one, they like a scent like this. Maybe that’s the target audience. Now, for a SPORT scent, if its purpose is to wear it while practicing sports, it works. On the contrary, for a daily scent, for someone with a more demanding nose, it doesn’t work; I would recommend a more striking fragrance. For young men, daily use, sports and gym context, for those who like citrus scents with a focus on cleanliness.
I have to say that on very hot days I only felt it for two hours, which disappointed me. But at 17 degrees, it was the opposite: it lasted over six hours, sticking to the skin at the end. I love it for its soft citrus notes; I even taste it on my palate like lemonade or tangerine. Within the PLAY line, it’s great for the gym, an afternoon with friends in the plaza, walking the dog, or just feeling clean and fresh.

But I used it at 17 degrees Celsius and it was the opposite: it lasted more than six hours, with the last part clinging close to the skin. Within the PLAY style, it’s good for: the gym, an afternoon with friends in the plaza, walking the dog, or simply feeling clean and fresh.
Play Sport is a fresh and aromatic fragrance, very pleasant, with a citrus and fruity opening like cucumber. The first 30 minutes are quite good, however, the scent evaporates very quickly and it’s hard for it to reach 3 hours. The dry-down is very common. I think for what it offers, there are many and better options (even though the smell is pleasant); if its price were lower, it would be a good option to start in the world of fragrances. Out of the three fragrances in the Play line by Givenchy, this is the one that fares the worst.
Very fine and delicate lemon, a touch of bergamot, and almost non-existent mint. Not much to say, low longevity, soft, subtle, citrusy. Beautiful bottle, extremely modern, generic box, ideal for after a shower and intimate spaces.
Cold lemon! This rich and fresh fragrance came out almost a decade ago. I finally managed to get it, and it’s my second bottle. It has a very special harmony with pepper and musk, creating a scent that is very clean, fresh, and sexy within the citrus range. I highly recommend it for warm climates if you can find it; don’t hesitate, as it’s not an over-saturated scent in the market.

I like how the citrus notes were blended with the others in this fragrance. The only downside is that the longevity isn’t the best. Otherwise, I think it’s very good for summer, the gym, or just being at home.

Today, in full 2025, I finally got this from my trusted distributor and I can say it’s a wonderful fragrance, ideal for the heat, day or night, and even holds up in autumn… Lemon, ginger, and woods, with a slight spicy kick at the end, it’s a combination that never fails and everyone loves. On my skin, it performs great, projecting moderately for about an hour and a half, and staying close to the skin almost all day (I wear it for work). If you apply it to clothes, it lasts several days smelling fresh and soft. It has been discontinued for a long time, so if you see it around, don’t hesitate to buy it; it’s absolutely worth it. Greetings. Edit 02/07/25: I’m already buying my third bottle of this delight… I hope it never runs out… Givenchy’s quality never changes.
