Starts a bit strong with that alcoholic kick and the peppery sting, but then the peach and apricot deliver an incredible sweetness that lasts forever. The pepper lingers in the background for contrast. In the heart, the rose, jasmine, and freesia create an abstract floral bouquet that fits perfectly, with freesia taking the lead. Lasts well, though it’s not overly strong or projecting much. It’s decent, has quality, and you can tell it’s from another era, but it’s not a masterpiece.

The bottle is a nod to the 60s—square and fitting perfectly into its white box with silver circles, very compact. The 60s were so modern that today they look futuristic; this bottle wouldn’t look out of place on the Enterprise of Star Trek, once you apply a bit, of course. Maybe then they’d say it encapsulates Earth scents to take them to space. I haven’t used it much yet, but I like it. It’s a potent, long-lasting floral with a fresh, juicy, and spicy opening that lasts about 5 minutes on me before the floral concert begins. Can be overwhelming if overapplied. Intense, distant, and full of determination. The drydown is pleasant. 50 ml EDP bottle.

This is the ideal fragrance for executive environments: good projection without being overwhelming, great longevity, and an elegant scent. Not too sweet, not too floral, not too spicy, yet it delivers on all fronts. It’s dominated by freesia with a touch of jasmine, amber with a hint of peach and pepper. Upon trying it, I was reminded a bit of Davidoff’s Good Life, but I insist: for formal work environments, where you dress well and want to make a good impression, I’d choose this Pour Elle without a second thought.

Sorry, it’s an incredible blend of jasmine and amber, super elegant and feminine. What a shame it’s discontinued.
