Opardu is a luxury floral, but be warned: if you’re looking for something as potent as Frederic Malle’s Carnal Flower, you’ll be disappointed. It’s not meant to stand out; it’s a subtle scent that holds up well in the heat and lasts for hours, though it stays in the background and projects only at a close range. What I love are the florals: nardus dominate at first, then yield the baton to gardenia, which lingers until the very end over delicate lilacs. The carnation is quite noticeable, and heliotrope adds a powdery touch. At first, it smells a bit like soap, but that fades with time. Longevity is good, though projection is very soft. While it leans feminine due to the flowers, men who adore florals might really enjoy it. It suits me perfectly, even though it’s not my usual go-to.
