One Umbrella for Two by Floraïku

When I bought another perfume, I got a sample, and honestly, I really liked it: a delicious gourmand whose trail is noticeable and has considerable longevity (7-8 hours). On my skin, the rice and tea stand out especially. I’ve been drawn to this brand for a while, and some of their perfumes seemed interesting, but generally, I find a flaw with the house that, on the other hand, seems to be their motivation: creating quite natural perfumes with soft/medium intensity and unbeatable presentation. I don’t choose perfumes based on intensity, although obviously, if you wear a perfume—and especially at this price—you like it to be noticeable. It’s the presentation that seems excessive, because in the end, you’re not buying a piece of art to put on a shelf, but a perfume. It’s like buying a cake and being charged 200 euros because it’s in a ‘luxuriously finished’ package that will eventually end up in the trash. If you want to buy a piece of art, don’t go to a perfumery… Paying almost 300 euros for approx. 50 ml of perfume seems to far exceed what I’m willing to pay for a perfume—regardless of whether I can or not buy it. I think we need to set a limit, because in the end, perfume is a completely dispensable product. When the brand released the ‘less loaded’ versions with more quantity and a ‘more affordable’ price, it seemed like a success and made me interested again, but unfortunately, I almost never find this format available for the fragrances I like.

The opening is a fruity bomb, with some red fruits, acidity, and a green touch from the tea. I was very surprised because, being fruity, it plays in a different league: there’s no cloying sweetness I sometimes reject. Here there’s brightness, formality, and elegance. The tea gains strength and the development moves toward musk and woods: clean, without darkness. The entire journey, with its variations, leaves an elegant and comforting vibe. It’s very different. It’s for almost all year, especially daytime for that peace it brings; it’s versatile and unisex. For me, it’s not gourmand. Everyone seems to like it. The cons: the performance is just right for the price. Otherwise, it’s a very tasty, comforting, and different scent… I don’t know if it has something of Japan and what it tells us, but Japan has a lot of what’s mentioned. Great.

Although Floraiku is an unknown house, One Umbrella For Two is their anchor fragrance for a reason. I bought Sound of a Ricochet blind, they gifted me I am not a Flower and samples, and although I didn’t understand the hype at first, now I do. Opening of blackcurrant wrapped in beautiful woods with a veil of green tea silk: light, fresh, a bit sweet, dark, and delirious. I’m finishing the sample and will buy the large bottle; it’s worth it. Among my favorites is Midnight Fantasy by Britney Spears—NOTE, I’m not comparing them—but I feel this is the sophisticated older sibling who studied in London and is now young, rich, and has the world at their feet, while MF remains the high schooler who just wants a midnight fling. I sense a bit of femininity, despite being unisex.

Inspired by a three-line poem about looking at the sky without rain and sharing an umbrella, it nails the concept perfectly. It’s a subtle, comforting scent that invites you to get closer. It’s gourmand, but not in the typical way: at first, it smells like freshly baked blueberry pie or pudding, right in the kitchen. Then, the tea appears to refresh it, like opening the windows to let fresh air in. It really satisfies the nose. A blind buy that was totally spot on. The presentation also stands out; the box, cap, and bottle are a fantastic piece of art. Very happy with the purchase. I acquired a discovery set and the first one I chose was the one I had my eye on, One Umbrella for Two. It opens very fruity, with blackcurrant taking the lead. Then the genmaicha (green tea with roasted rice) appears; the rice accord is noticeable, reminiscent of Kenzo Amour, but here it’s worked with much more elegance. The website says cedar, cyclamen, and musk; the cyclamen is noticeable and boosts the floral, sweet, and green aspects. In the final dry down, it seems like vanilla, becoming creamy and pleasant. Moderate trail, but it’s so exquisite that I’d pay the price. It goes straight to my wishlist.

Smells like pure luxury and a dream bottle. The opening is potent but settles down quickly; the performance is average—is it worth paying that much? Yes, because it’s a unique experience, nothing you’ve ever smelled before. It’s modern, sweet like candied plum with an acidic touch, and dries down to cold, sweet fruity tea. Perfect for summer, though it works year-round. It’s pricey, but compared to paying kilos for Tiziana Terenzi (I also overpay 😬), this Floraïku one is worth it. It has a clone, Deep Desire by EBK, a rare and ostentatious house; I have a decant and they’re almost twins. Simply gorgeous.

Delicious red berry tea with soft, creamy sweet notes that are very pleasant. It’s a lively, cheerful, and beautiful perfume with a powdery rice touch. A well-composed gourmand, balanced, light, and spring-like, leaning feminine. Moderate trail and lasts 7-8 hours. Although it’s simple and innocent, I really like it and keep it on my wishlist to buy on sale. The official price per ml seems excessive for its performance and complexity. The bottle is stunning. Scent 8/10, Longevity 7.5/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 3/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 10/10. Would I buy again? Haven’t yet.

Rain or shine, this umbrella stays in the bag. Ethereal gourmand and very wearable in warm climates, delicious. Refined but maintains a young and fun character.
