For cold weather, this vetiver is sweet, citrusy, and bitter; at first I sense tea and woods, but soon nutmeg and patchouli make it dark and smoky. It maintains this character for 8 hours, creating a bubble of smoky vetiver around me. It doesn’t seem to change much beyond the opening, but it’s my winter version of Vetiver Fatal, Tonka, or Bal d’Afrique for that sense of nature. It’s an autumn-winter vetiver, unisex but leaning masculine when dry, ideal for elegant or intimate nights. Pleasant: 7/10, Interesting: 7/10, Versatile: 7/10, Original: 7/10.
My Vetiver is the king of cold weather: it opens sweet, citrusy, and bitter, dominating the tea and woods. But nutmeg and patchouli appear quickly, turning it dark and smoky. It stays this way for the entire 8-hour journey, creating a bubble of smoky vetiver around me. It doesn’t resemble anything else beyond the opening, so I see it as the winter version of Vetiver Fatal, Tonka, or Bal d’Afrique for that sense of nature. It’s an autumn-winter vetiver, unisex but leaning masculine when dry, ideal for elegant or intimate nights for that dark touch. Pleasant: 7/10 Interesting: 7/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 7/10
Very spicy aroma at first, starting more citrusy-bright due to the bergamot and pepper, quickly turning into warm spices, especially nutmeg. By 5 minutes into the opening, that black tea note is clearly noticeable; adorned with spices, it’s nothing sharp and very pleasant. In the dry-down, we continue with this tea, combined with earthy, damp yet creamy woods, with vetiver being the first protagonist for me, followed by cedar. It’s a versatile perfume, perhaps more autumnal/wintery; it especially evokes cloudy or rainy days for me. It’s unisex leaning masculine (though I know women who really enjoy this perfume). Performance is very good, like all I’ve encountered from this house. I liked it.
It’s a great perfume and is already my favorite from the brand: it doesn’t try to surprise, but everything it does, it does brilliantly. The opening is clearly masculine, versatile, and elegant, like a groomed, clean man with impeccable shoes. The three phases are a perfect synergy between three famous fragrances: at first, the vetiver is luminous and bright, just like in Rouge and Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford, with touches of Ganyémé. In the middle, the tea, leather, and subtle sweetness recall Bal d’Afrique. By the five-hour mark, the dry-down surprises me with a woody side very similar to Aventus, where sandalwood and pink pepper round out the composition. I need to have it in my collection for its above-average longevity for the brand and its magnificent evolution. Recommended.
Top-tier perfume. It’s become my favorite from the brand: it doesn’t try to shock, but everything it does, it does brilliantly. The opening already reveals its essence: masculine, versatile, with that elegant touch of a groomed, clean man, like someone wearing impeccable shoes. I’m going to compare its three phases to other famous fragrances so you understand: this synergy is the perfect blend. At first, the vetiver is clear, luminous, and bright; it uses it just like Roja or Tom Ford—airy and masculine, very similar to Roja’s vetiver and Tom Ford’s Grey Vetiver, with certain vibes of Gany. In the heart notes, tea, leather, and a sweetened touch emerge, showing a side of the famous Bal d’Afrique, a very similar DNA. At the five-hour mark, the dry-down surprises me with a strong resemblance to Aventus on its woody side; I understand that sandalwood and pink pepper appear to round out the composition. I need this in my collection already; it has above-average longevity for the brand and a magnificent evolution. Recommended.
