On my skin, Ma Dame starts sweet and citrusy, then transforms into sweet roses with a slight minty touch. It has a young, vibrant, flirtatious, and feminine aura. The grapefruit adds a gourmand and fun twist, but never cloying. It smells exactly like its bottle looks—if you know what I mean. It’s very particular and unique, with good projection and longevity.
Ma Dame is a citrus-sweet scent; the grapefruit really stands out and puts you in a happy mood. It has good longevity, I wear it on summer afternoons. It’s not cloying, very unique and refreshing, like enjoying a martini by the bay. Recommended.
Distinct aromatic point, elegant and sophisticated. Smells powdery and dense at the same time. It’s sweet from the grapefruit and orange, but the roses make it fresh and sweet. Be careful not to overdo it, as it has a strong presence. It has soapy vibes that smell like just out of the shower, and as Alicia says, it gives you energy and a better mood.
I agree with everything; it’s a different and exquisite perfume.
It’s a fragrance with a small sweet touch, but above all fresh and clean. I love it, it’s my favorite. Very long-lasting, but nothing heavy.
I love the orange scent, a bit acidic and sweet at the same time. But it feels too strong to me; if it were a bit softer, it would be ideal for me.
Jean Paul Gaultier makes perfumes for divas, and Madame proves it. That citrus touch, the spectacular orange, and that bottle mixing pink and orange… wonderful. Soft but personal. Recommended.
Chic, chic, chic. The nose is Francis Kurkdjian, a great master. It exceeds my expectations; I find it innovative, sweet, and citrusy at the same time. Very sophisticated and cheerful. It lasts a long time, has excellent fixation, and improves my mood. Personally, it’s an aromatic jewel.
I forced my mother to buy it (without smelling it) just for the gorgeous bottle. It’s a sexy and bold fragrance. Ma Dame smells citrus-sweet; the orange and grapefruit are easily noticeable. It’s for showing off, for those diva women. It has strong longevity and sillage, you get noticed everywhere. I give it an 8.5/10.

A fragrance that breaks the mold: starts with an electric, sparkling orange, almost as sweet as the preceding grapefruit. Then comes a tender rose with a minty and anise touch, I guess from the cedar. The base is musky and woody. It seems like a bad girl, strong and rebellious, but for me, it’s a sophisticated talc of fruits and roses, light and delicious. It’s the younger sister of Classique, but with more personality than it appears. It’s floral, fruity, woody, fresh, and sweet, without falling into vulgarity. Original and transgressive due to its contradictions. Ideal for spring and autumn. Sillage and longevity are moderate. The bottle is gorgeous, with that Gaultier pink-fluorescent orange gradient, a female figure that seems to want to wrap herself in the scent. It seems made for young girls, but it’s a very personal and powerful scent to stand out. It seems like one more, but it’s not what you expect… it’s much more if you dare to try it.
Surprising fragrance: it seems like a sparkling, electric orange, like its fluorescent color, but very sweet, almost like grenadine. Then a young, tender rose appears with a mentholated and anise touch, probably from the cedar. The base is musky and woody. It seems groundbreaking, strong, and rebellious, the bad girl of the class. However, for me, it’s a soft, light, and sophisticated talcum of fruits and roses. It seems like the younger sister of Classique, but be careful, it has more personality. It’s floral, fruity, woody, fresh, and sweet, original and transgressive by contradiction. For spring and autumn. Sillage and longevity are moderate. The bottle is gorgeous with its pink-fluorescent orange gradient and the Gaultier figure. It seems for young girls, but it’s a very personal and strong aroma to stand out. It’s not what it seems; it’s much more if you dare to try it.
It smells very fresh and clean, slightly herbal-soapy (like just out of the shower) with a noticeable citrus-sweet touch of grenadine and orange. It has good longevity on the skin. It’s a pity it’s no longer in production and is hard to find.
I bought it without smelling it because I couldn’t find it in stores and could only order online. It was a risk, but the citrus-sweet description convinced me. Upon receiving it, the scent is incredible: fresh, clean, citrusy, and sweet all at once. It smells like orange with that powdery nuance I’ve never felt before. It’s spectacular; I’ve found my perfect perfume for this spring-summer. I can’t stop smelling it, it’s simply perfect.
Buy blind and prepare for a total shock. On my skin, it smells very synthetic, like a plastic doll or soap, not citrus. A bit sweet, potent, and weird. I like it, but I don’t recommend buying without trying as others say; it’s not what it seems.
I bought it blind and it completely blew my mind. On my skin, it smells very synthetic, like a plastic doll, though it does have a soapy vibe. It has a citrus-sweet touch, it’s potent and unique. I like it! But I don’t recommend buying it without testing it first; it’s not what other reviews say.
Stunning! I’d buy it again. I loved it. It’s a sweet yet fresh scent, and the longevity lasts all day. 100% recommended.
The best fragrance I’ve ever known: it will always be my favorite and the one I’ve received the most compliments for. Sweet, bold, sexy, sophisticated, rebellious… An unmistakable scent. It makes you feel secure, decisive, and powerful. The grenadine and orange make a groundbreaking blend with the rose and musk. The cedar is already a subtler note. The longevity and sillage are infinite, so it was worth every euro. It’s a pity it stopped being produced because for me it was the best. Even the bottle and the TV ad were great. What a shame it passed into the history of Jean Paul’s perfumes, because it’s infinitely better than Scandal and others that followed.

They gave it to me, and it’s a great fragrance made by one of the world’s best perfumers; it has its Gaultier signature, but it conveys joy and freshness. It has a unique and peculiar point.
I’m really happy to have found it just recently, but it’s a nice feeling to connect with a fragrance that seems harmless yet gives you so much and a little bit of everything. Its opening is citrusy and sparkling, with a sweet orange and a touch of sherry; as it dries down, it becomes a sweet caress that seduces you and makes you feel comfortable, secure, and happy. Then the rose appears, young and tender, with musky nuances that give cleanliness and freshness. It’s extremely sexy, fresh, sweet, addictive almost instantly, with moderate to strong sillage and lasting more than 8 hours. Totally timeless; it shines more in summer. I’ll buy a refill because I want to use it as if there’s no tomorrow.
My heart broke when I found out this delight was no longer being made. I never imagined a fragrance could identify me so much. It’s intense in the right measure, bold, feminine, and vibrant. It has a soapy or powdery air that might seem like a perfume wrongly labeled ‘old lady,’ but that part is overshadowed by the essence it projects and its elegance. Its sweetness blends exquisitely with the audacity it projects; it’s punk, a pink and sweet punk. It’s one of the few fragrances where, every time I wore it, someone complimented it.
I like it, though I must say it doesn’t seem suitable for cold weather to me; I find it soapy, fresh, synthetic, a bit weird, similar to Salvatore Ferragamo’s Fascinating Night, and to be honest, I prefer this one; it’s cleaner and less sweet.
More than the perfume, I went crazy over its ad and bottle. The scent was pleasant, easy to wear, and appreciated, but it lacked the strength and personality they promised. The smell stayed constant all day, which made me feel it was opaque. The orange and musk blend reminded me of softened cake batter dusted with flower powder. I liked it, but I think it had the potential to be more special. It’s missed. Ma dame, madame, ma magdalene.
It was my first Gaultier. It’s sweet but not cloying; fun, with a classic touch. Of the declared notes, I can hardly distinguish any except the grenadine. It opens with something spicy, like pink pepper, followed by something very creamy (like hand cream), probably the rose and musk blend that I can’t identify separately. Then the wood becomes more prominent until it ends up sweet with a tiny bitter note. It’s not bad, but it’s not for me. It lasts 4-6 hours, with moderate to heavy sillage.
It starts with a sweet orange, so sweet you could almost bite it. The grenadine adds body and sweetness without being cloying, with a sharp, stinging acidic touch. The rose is present from the start (I have an old bottle, so maybe the opening lacks some freshness, but the orange remains alongside the rose and grenadine). The rose is ‘just right’—neither green nor wilted, fresh and warmed by the sun, with a powdery, clean touch from the musk. It’s beautiful, original, and tremendously feminine, a fruity floral that breaks with current gourmand trends while still being sweet. It’s fairly linear, feeling like a whole. Sometimes it’s narcotic, nothing dark, psychedelic. It doesn’t smell entirely natural; it can seem a bit artificial. Could it be the grenadine? I sense a stinging, uncomfortable note that pushes me to keep smelling it. The cedar and musk blend is earthy, powdery. That rich, woody scent, close to the skin, here feels like clean skin but sweaty after dancing until you can’t take another step, mixing with the sweat of a summer festival dance floor. It was lucky that Gaultier relaunched it; it’s unisex (and sold as such, the one who opened this sector), but I would have loved for Ma Dame to get a chance too, let’s hope soon.
Honestly, I haven’t used this in a while; I fell in love with another perfume and am thinking of letting go of my Ma Dame bottle.
