The bottle is another gem like the Nina Gourmandise version. Its scent stands out at first with coconut milk and caramel, then the citrus and floral notes come through. A quite summery aroma.
Gourmands aren’t my favorite, but I don’t hate them either. I think it happens to a lot of people, whether they’re into ‘freshies’ or oriental fans. This is a ‘pretty’ gourmand with a clear milky toffee opening, sweet but not cloying. I detect a slight fruity touch that I know is pear because I’ve read it, but I didn’t identify it at first. The peony is subtle but there, beautifying the whole thing. I don’t detect anything citrusy at all. The scent is warm and cozy. I’ve worn it for a while and it feels comfortable, appetizing, and not heavy at all. I wouldn’t wear it in summer; it seems more suitable for all other seasons, day and night. I’m seriously considering buying my first gourmand.
Coconut dominates from start to finish, like the Luna, but it has a citrus blend that makes it more interesting. In the dry down, the intensity of the peony mixes with the coconut and sandalwood, and it seems slightly like an old powder-puff floral fragrance.
Definitely found my fragrance for a happy summer day ♡ At first, it reminded me of childhood sweets: an explosion of gummies and candy bars. Then that citrus sweetness turns tender. The coconut and caramel give a warm aroma, like a ray of sunshine. It’s discreet, moderate sillage, and incredible longevity: more than 15 hours on my skin. I have the regular version and love it, but I confess the gourmand ended up pleasing me more, and I regret not choosing it. It’s one of the best-executed gourmands I’ve heard of. Hope to get a 50ml bottle ♡ What a shame it’s limited. The good news is it wasn’t popular in my country, so my chances are high. Important note: I didn’t buy it because the scent intimidated me. It literally smells like a candy shop. If you don’t mind smelling like that, you’ll love it. I liked it too much. The bad part is I was with people who don’t tolerate those scents, and the pressure made me lean toward something more modest. I regret it… but one day I’ll go for it. ♡ Scent: 9/10 ♡ Sillage: 8/10 ♡ Longevity: 10/10
So relieved I didn’t order this online without trying it first… I’d noted it down for that blend of coconut, caramel, and sandalwood, imagining something lovely, sweet, and tropical. I picked it up in-store today, and once I applied it to my arm, surprise: it’s still the original Luna, just caramel, more caramel, and even more caramel. It doesn’t smell bad, but it’s boring that all the flankers are so similar and that the caramel dominates everything, drowning out the other notes. If you like the original but want a different twist, go for it. Just be careful—it’s a limited edition and already hard to find.
Relief that I didn’t order this online without testing it first… I had my eye on it for that mix of coconut, caramel, and sandalwood, imagining something pretty, sweet, and tropical. Today I found it in-store, excitedly tested it, and surprise: the usual scent, caramel, caramel, and more caramel. It doesn’t smell bad, it’s just boring; all the Luna flankers are the same, and the caramel drowns everything. If you like the original but want a tiny different touch, go for it. It’s limited edition and hard to find.
A delicious coconut milk. It’s sweet, but with an incredibly rich aroma. It’s not traditional coconut; it’s coconut milk with sugar, a floral touch, a palette of fresh sweet-and-cream, summery. Like drinking a sweet milk on the beach edge with ice. Omg.
I don’t usually review scents, but this needs to be said: TERRIBLE! Two key points: 1. Longevity: with my pH, it turns into odorless water. In 15 minutes, nothing. 2. Composition: I bought it blind because caramel and coconut notes were driving me crazy. I’ve trusted Nina Ricci before, but here… (I won’t say I learned my lesson because the selection in my country is limited and I have to take risks online). Ugh, almost cried. Between my pH-destroying chemistry and it just smelling like washed peony and rancid coconut, pffff. Total disappointment. I gave it a month. The bottle is spectacular and promises a sweet summer, but I couldn’t handle it, nor could it handle me. Repeat: my experience was fatal, but it might turn out beautiful for someone else. Proceed with caution.
I rarely write reviews, but this one had to be said. TERRIBLE! Two key points: 1. Longevity: that’s the biggest flaw. As they always say, even if a potent scent turns into room freshener depending on your pH, you have to test it on skin. In my case, after 15 minutes, zero scent—ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! 2. Composition: I bought it blind because the caramel and coconut milk notes were driving me crazy as a gourmand lover. I’ve always trusted Nina Ricci and they never let me down, but here… (I won’t say I learned my lesson because the selection in my country is limited, so I had to take a risk online). Ugh, almost cried: between my perfume destroyer and smelling like washed peony and rancid coconut, pffff, total disappointment. I gave it a month. The bottle is spectacular and promises a sweet summer, but I definitely couldn’t make it work, nor could it work for me. I repeat, it might look beautiful on someone else, but this was my fatal experience. Proceed with caution if you find it somewhere.
Didn’t get any caramel or coconut… huge disappointment. It smells sweet, sure, but it’s a total mess where you can’t distinguish anything. I sold it and don’t miss it.
