Absolutely disgusting! I love the Givenchy line, but I have no idea what went wrong with this one. It smells like medicine. Honestly, it disappointed me.
The perfume is exquisite, especially the opening. It’s a shame it lasts only a few hours and then becomes so soft you barely notice who’s wearing it.
The perfume is exquisite, especially its top notes. It’s a pity that a fragrance with these characteristics lasts only a couple of hours and then becomes so soft it’s barely perceptible to the wearer.
I loooooove it.
Beautiful, sensual, mysterious… unique.
A nightmare. I was horrified when I smelled it. I love all the Ange ou Demon perfumes, but this one… no, no, and no.
Rich. I first feel the iris giving it a powdery touch, then the sesame giving it a toasted note, and then the rest of the notes. I barely smell the almond, nothing like Poison. I feel it’s an oriental gourmand.
A nightmare. I was horrified when I smelled it. I love all the Ange our Demon, but this… no, no, and no.
I tried it quite a bit, I don’t have the bottle but used more than 10 samples to get my money’s worth. It’s a very heavy fragrance for my taste; it gives me a headache. I only like the base notes. I wouldn’t buy it. I didn’t like it. It lasts, but for that intensity, I expected more.
It’s an exotic fragrance, nothing traditional, a bit overwhelming but balanced at first. It’s dynamic and changes quickly, but unfortunately the iris fades and leaves a toasted almond scent that isn’t very feminine, getting lost in a soft, imperceptible base. The formula is weak. Such a promising fragrance should evolve more and last longer, since it’s meant for night. I find it interesting but incomplete. It could work well as a complement to a floral scent. On its own, it’s not enough for me. The opening is exquisite; it smells like a niche fragrance for sure.

I tried it because it was on sale, but even though I tried to convince myself, I didn’t like it. The opening and dry-down overwhelmed me. I only liked the base notes, which have a very masculine touch. I expected something else from the Ange ou Demon line. Same thing happened with Ange ou Demon Le Parfum. Could the testers be bad? I’m sure I’ll give it another chance. It’s a shame it’s by Givenchy, from that line, with such beautiful bottles.
L’ange noir is one of those strong, sweet perfumes that envelops you. The first thing I notice is the pink pepper… with the iris and sesame seeds giving a rough, astringent sensation. After a few minutes, tonka vanilla, musk, and almonds take over, along with the amber, giving it a powdery, sweet, and intense tone that lasts until the end. It reminds me of the warmth of a purple scarf in winter… on my lips, on a cold, drizzly day. Very sensual, romantic, overwhelming, no nonsense—you take it or leave it. I take it, of course! The black bottle speaks perfectly of its contents, representing… the rough notes at the bottom of the bottle. I love it.
L’Ange Noir is one of those sweet and powerful perfumes that wraps you up. You first feel pink pepper, with iris and sesame giving it a rough, astringent touch. Then tonka bean, musk, and almonds take control, mixed with amber for a sweet, intense finish. It reminds me of the warmth of a purple scarf on a cold, rainy day. It’s super sensual and romantic, plain and simple—you either take it or leave it. I’m definitely taking it. The black bottle represents it all, with those rough notes at the bottom. I love it.
I really like L’Ange Noir by Givenchy. Its combination of notes is quite particular; on my skin, I feel the dominant iris at first, then the sesame stands out, making it very different from others. As it dries down, I notice traces of sesame and tonka vanilla takes over. It projects quite a bit for the first hour, but the downside is that this wonderful, super-original fragrance stays very close to the skin. It would be my favorite if the projection lasted longer. Longevity is decent, about 6 to 8 hours. I prefer it more in spring than in winter or autumn.
I absolutely love L’Ange Noir by Givenchy. It opens with iris, then sesame takes over and gives it a totally different vibe. When it dries down, tonka bean is what really stands out. It projects like crazy for the first hour, but my only complaint is that it clings way too much to the skin. If it lasted longer, it would be my absolute favorite. Longevity is decent, about 6 to 8 hours. I prefer it in spring over winter.
This fragrance was, at first, a NO for me. The sesame and iris were a terrible combination for me. For the first two hours, I felt the scent with that very strong powdery touch, which even made me nauseous. Then things calmed down a bit (and I say a bit because it moved to tonka bean with some pink pepper touches and that unpleasant burnt sesame aftertaste). To my bad luck, it has fantastic longevity and good projection (I think this detail is the only good thing to highlight about L’ange Noir). I’ll try to give it a second chance and see how it evolves on me, but this first impression was indeed fatal.

I thought it would follow the line of Ange ou des Démon, and nothing could be more different; it’s heavy, plastic, intense, and sweet.
In simple words, it’s a sweetened iris like almond cream, with a hint of pepper to give it a darker, less innocent twist. It could be the cousin of Dior Homme Intense. For nighttime occasions and cold climates, it’s not a costume, but it has a lot of character; while it’s warm and floral, the spicy touch makes it quite imposing.
L’ange noir is a Givenchy fragrance I hadn’t heard much about; it flew under the radar and turns out to be a marvel. Many compare it to Dior Homme Intense, but I only see similarities in the high dose of iris, perhaps at the end of the dry down. This unisex gem starts with a plastic, artificial burst like feminine makeup—don’t panic, it lasts less than 10 minutes. Then it transforms into an explosion of toasted almonds and sesame with a background of tonka bean and just the right amount of sweetness. It stays linear with that addictive gourmand scent. Its weak point is projection: it lasts about 6 hours or more with the right temperature, but it projects nothing, sticking right to the skin. What a shame, because with its dark and opulent nature, it should have a pronounced trail to be perfect. It seems to be discontinued; on the official website, only the EDT is available, which, based on the notes, I don’t think has anything to do with it. It’s unique, doesn’t resemble anything I’ve tried, reminds me of Alicante and Jijona nougats mixed together—a worthy oriental gourmand experience despite the lack of projection.
L’ange Noir is a Givenchy fragrance I haven’t heard much about; it slipped under the radar with a low profile and it’s a marvel. Many compare it to Dior Homme Intense, but I personally don’t find many similarities except for the high dose of iris; perhaps in its final dry-down stage it might remind you of Dior’s. This Givenchy masterpiece, which can perfectly be unisex, starts with a plastic, artificial burst like female makeup—don’t be alarmed, this lasts about 10 minutes or less. Gradually, it turns into an explosion of toasted almonds and sesame with a tonka base and just the right amount of sweetness. From there on, it stays fairly linear, maintaining this addictive gourmand scent. The weak point is the projection; although it lasts about 6 hours or more with the right temperature, it projects nothing, staying very close to the skin, which is a pity because this fragrance, with its dark and opulent nature, should have a pronounced trail, which would make it perfect. Apparently, it’s discontinued since only the EDT version appears on the official Givenchy site, and based on its notes, I don’t think it resembles this one at all. This fragrance is unique because it doesn’t resemble anything I’ve tried; it reminds me a lot of Spanish nougats from Alicante and Jijona, a mix of both. It’s a unique oriental gourmand experience worth it despite its scarce projection.
I’ve been testing it for two days. At first, I didn’t like it much, but as the hours passed, I started to win it over. Deep down, it reminds me slightly of Lolita Lempicka, and that’s exactly why I ended up liking it.
L’ange Noir is one of the most exquisite fragrances I’ve ever tried, which is why I bought it; I didn’t mind it having a certain feminine vibe. I’ve tried hundreds of scents, and this one is different from everything else. As soon as you wear it, that pink pepper aroma combined with almond paste makes it sublime. It’s a refined almond, in the style of a first-class pastry. Then it settles more into sesame before highlighting the tonka bean. It’s a unique perfume that immerses you in a different world of gourmand combinations, so it’s definitely in my top 10. I agree with others that it would be incredible if its trail and longevity lasted longer. If they did, it would be perfection. For now, unfortunately, it’s no longer available in Argentina.
It’s a unique almond scent. Elegant, refined, not at all sugary or loud. At first, it reminds me of a 90s powder makeup (Angel’s Face) and feels a bit artificial, but then that phase gives way to almonds and sesame, which develop very well together. The longevity is very good, but the projection is quite contained. It’s not a perfume to make people turn around. It has a lot of personality; it doesn’t remind me of any other I’ve tried.

I was buying perfumes blindly and this one blew my mind. It’s exquisite; there’s no way you can walk by without people noticing. I can’t describe it with the official notes; what I feel most is pink pepper and tonka bean. To me, it smells like grapes, baby powder, and something very sophisticated. It doesn’t resemble anything else; it’s unique and full of personality. The longevity is incredible—it lasts forever on clothes. I bought it blindly and it was a spectacular experience.
I absolutely love it. It’s a dark, deep perfume with a lot of personality. I wear it at work or when I want to project sophistication and seriousness. The longevity is excellent.
It reminds me a lot of Vie Est Belle Extrait.
