  Dirty jasmine, powerful leather, and an oud with animalic touches. I tried a sample and it didn’t convince me at all. But for lovers of dirty or animalic scents, you’ll surely love it.

  This is a projection bomb: a little bit leaves a monumental trail. The first hour is spectacular, though on clothes and skin it lasts about 6 hours. The opening is delicious: sparkling bergamota gives way to jasmine and an animalic oud that enhances the indolic notes, rounding everything off beautifully. At times, the floral sweetness is juicy, almost fruity. Then, the oud and leather dominate for an hour and a half. As it dries down, it vibrates like an Oud Bouquet by Lancôme, just less sweet, with rose replacing jasmine but keeping the vanilla and oud balanced. I really liked it, though I feel it’s not for me. It’s unisex, perhaps more feminine at the start, but ideal for men at the end. Excellent quality, but I wouldn’t buy it again.

  Before giving my opinion, I’ll clarify that this is the twin of Mancera Black Gold, but much more wearable and without nutmeg. The oud is earthy and gives it body, while the jasmine, sandalwood, and vanilla soften it to make it unisex. I was pleasantly surprised; I didn’t expect this much and it’s less aggressive than other scents from the brand. Perfect for nights and cold weather. The projection is typical Mancera: it sticks like shoe glue and projects effortlessly. The only thing that fails is the dry down: when it settles, it smells like stale cosmetics, but only if you sniff it right up close. If you like jasmine, you won’t mind.
