  No surprise that almost everyone smells like J’Adore in this. To me, they’re identical—I even notice that peach note that isn’t even on the list. If you know the original, you’ll know L’Absolu is sweeter and more floral, with an ylang-ylang dry down that smells like banana. Then it settles into sweet white flowers, reminiscent of Chanel’s Gabrielle but without that acidity that just doesn’t suit me. On my skin, it has moderate projection and lasts about 10 hours. It’s a chameleon that projects relaxed elegance, perfect for all seasons, especially spring and fall. Too bad it’s discontinued; I’d definitely have it in my collection. Scent: 7.5/10, Longevity: 10/10, Sillage: 7.5/10, Value: 7/10, Versatility: 8/10, Packaging: 9/10. Would I buy again? Yes.

  J’adore Absolute! An exquisite floral nectar where absolutes blend with a unique freshness. What a floral wonder! I love all the J’adore scents, but alongside J’adore Le Parfum, J’adore L’Or, and J’adore in Joy, these are my absolute favorites.

  L’Absolu fits perfectly with Dior’s philosophical essence. If you look at their fashion collections—from colorful sandals paired with dark dresses to looks that remind you of budget-conscious orphans (or models painted like vampires)—it all reflects here. It’s more floral than traditional J’Adore, which is more elegant and conservative. L’Absolu has more freedom, joy, and lightness thanks to a golden floral accord and an unripe fruity base. It shares the same sharp jasmine and tuberose, but the ylang-ylang gives it more density and weight. It could be the child between J’Adore and Givenchy’s Amarige. However, it lacks its own autonomy and charisma, feeling like a ‘golden’ version of the original. The fruity and woody notes strip away some seriousness, as if it were Honey by Marc Jacobs’ rich best friend lending makeup that doesn’t quite suit her. The sillage is more powerful and deeper than the original, and the longevity is notable (over 8 hours in temperate weather). If you don’t like the original J’Adore, you might enjoy this if you crave the sweetness of ylang-ylang. For me, it’s acceptable and pleasant, though if I had to recommend a flanker, I’d choose J’adore L’Or for its ingredients and execution.

  Is it for acidic skin or sweeter profiles? I love J’Adore perfumes, but does it last long enough? What makes it different from the rest of Dior?

  This is the most floral version of J’Adore; it feels denser and more elegant, dominated by ylang-ylang, jasmine, and roses. It has very good longevity, over 12 hours, and excellent projection.
