It’s a gorgeous vanilla, nothing like I expected when ordering the sample or reading the pyramid. Previous reviews describe it well: it’s a rare but expertly crafted vanilla. The main note is a gourmand vanilla, almost pastry-like, reminiscent of pure bean scent, specifically Mexican, with a bit of spice. It has spicy, smoky, and resinous touches, though I’m not sure exactly which notes create them; maybe incense, benzoin, and some musk. I highlight the base of a fluffy white musk that doesn’t smell like marshmallow, but rather skin—very sensual and warm. The cocoa is present, but more like 100% cocoa powder than a bar. It has a short trail but excellent longevity. I’m already waiting to buy the 30ml bottle.

Insulo wasn’t what I expected, thank god I ordered a sample. It’s dark, smoky vanilla, very different. The floral notes are barely noticeable, a bit of jasmine and maybe rose. In the heart, there’s coffee and praline, like Bailey’s liqueur. In the base, there must be tobacco and incense because it smells nicely smoky. But from the start, something muddies and kills that dense, wonderful vanilla; I think it’s saffron. It smells spicy and I dislike it; mixed with the musk, it gives strong, dirty tones. I don’t like it. After an hour, it fades away and leaves a thick, creamy, rich vanilla. It reminded me of Kayali’s Vanilla 28 and my hated Shaghaf Oud. Don’t kill me, it has nothing to do with them, but that’s what came to mind on my skin. It truly gives all the Middle Eastern vibe, like caramelized sugar but incredibly not very sweet. It’s warm and sensual, totally unisex. High longevity and noticeable trail. It’s a great perfume, but it has something that prevents me from enjoying it, so it’s not for me. I’ll let the sample rest; maybe in a few months I’ll like it. I advise not to go by the olfactory pyramid; if it catches your eye, order a sample, it has hidden ingredients.

30ml extract, what a cute little bottle. A vanilla fragrance but nothing gourmand or sweet; it takes its own path. Three notes: powdery and pure vanilla, like natural bean; imperceptible jasmine, thank god; white musk that makes it elegant and sexy. Actually, it smells like undeclared coffee, caramelized brown sugar, maybe a touch of cocoa and incense. Addictive, sexy, and edible, but without sweetness: black coffee, sugar, vanilla, cocoa, and seductive musk. A sensory delirium; if I had known this, I wouldn’t have waited so long to buy it. It goes in my group of adult gourmands: appetizing and sexy. Medium projection, I’d like it to be more potent, but maybe that would lose its distinction. Longevity on skin, about 8 hours.

Three notes on the label… powdery and pure vanilla, like smelling the natural bean, rough and deep. Imperceptible jasmine on my skin, thank god because it’s not my note. White musk that gives it elegance and a sexy touch. Yes, it’s a sexy gourmand. But watch out, it smells like coffee (undeclared), like black coffee with caramelized brown sugar, surely there’s a bit of cocoa and bursts of incense. Addictive, sexy, edible but without sweetness. A sensory delirium; if I had known this, I wouldn’t have waited so long to buy it. I put it in my adult gourmands: appetizing and sexy. Medium projection, I would have liked more potency, but maybe that takes away its distinction. Longevity on skin, about 8 hours.
