It’s a sugary vanilla with a smoky touch, backed by leather and animal notes. The animalic aspects are subtle—nothing like shoe leather or weird stuff. It stays pretty consistent from start to finish, with small shifts: smoky, balsamic, and shy white florals that add a sweet floral dimension. Vanilla is the king: potent but airy, not heavy; let’s say “fresh” in its own way. Not ideal for heat because the sweetness can become overwhelming. Longevity is spectacular: over 12 hours with strong projection. Although unisex, it leans slightly feminine for me, but it suits me well. I like it, though it eventually gets tiring due to being so linear and sweet. If you don’t like sweet perfumes, run. The good: quality and longevity. The bad: price and the fact that it can be overwhelming if you over-spray. Interesting but pricey.
Absolute Aphrodisiac has become my recent favorite, not because it’s a complex mess, but because it delivers on its promise perfectly. It’s linear, basically creamy vanilla with subtle animalic and musky notes (not Ambre Loup), yet it’s alive and bipolar: sometimes it smells like leather and castoreum (masculine), other times like vanilla and white florals (feminine). I love that duality; on my skin it leans more masculine, but on a woman, it would absolutely kill it. Brutal quality and insane longevity: you can smell it all night, go out partying, and the next day you’re still wearing this. Try it, but don’t gift it to your boyfriend, or he’ll shoot you with a shotgun.
Mmmm… One of the best vanillas I’ve ever smelled. A vanilla perfume with two faces: on one hand, the typical floral vanilla with white flowers that add freshness and temper the sweetness; on the other, a subtle animalic vanilla with musk, leather, and castoreum. It’s quite simple and linear but addictive. Good performance, great longevity, and discreet projection. Unisex, though more for night or winter; it works for day in the cold or in summer/spring thanks to its delicacy. Scent: 10, Longevity: 9, Projection: 7, Value: 5, Versatility: 7, Originality: 7, Overall: 9.5.
I tried this because of the countless reviews and YouTube videos calling it a masterpiece. In my opinion, as a user and beginner in the niche world, I’ve never smelled a vanilla this pure and natural; nothing synthetic, just comforting. Mixed with the castoreum, which gives it a ‘dirty’ edge, but combined with the creamy vanilla and amber, it smooths everything out. I’ve never heard anything like this; I don’t know how it works on men, but on women, you don’t go unnoticed. I recommend it for special occasions, as at work or in the office, even though it’s not invasive, it makes quite an impression. I definitely love this perfume.
I tried this because of the countless reviews and YouTube videos calling it a masterpiece. As someone new to the niche world, I say I’ve never smelled a vanilla this pure and natural, nothing synthetic, just comforting. Blended with castoreum, which gives it a touch of ‘dirty’ edge, but combined with creamy vanilla and amber, it softens everything. I’ve never heard anything like this; I don’t know how it works for men, but on women, you don’t go unnoticed. I recommend it for special occasions because at work, even though it’s not invasive, it stands out a lot. I definitely love it.
I just received a Yuniqu decant, and while it’s a wonderful vanilla… nothing new under the sun. I have a similar one in Vanille Noir by Les Senteurs Gourmandes for a quarter of the price. Do I recommend it? Not really, honestly. It’s a very good perfume, but not at that price (thank goodness we have Yuniqu…).
The sexiest vanilla in my collection. On my skin, it smells like very animalistic vanilla (castoreum) but without being dirty; just the right amount of sweet, slightly smoky, and super creamy. Yes, vanilla takes the lead, but amber and leather are there too. It’s fairly linear and doesn’t seem complex, but the quality is noticeable from a mile away and it’s well-balanced (I’ve never seen a vanilla like this in designer perfumes). Performance is great: strong projection for the first two or three hours, then settles into something more intimate, lasting about 8/10 hours. It smells unisex and versatile, though I wear it more for going out than to work. When I finish my Yuniqu decant, I’ll buy the big bottle because I enjoy it so much. Despite the price, it’s justified here. I’ve finally found my favorite vanilla!
The sexiest vanilla in my collection. On my skin, it smells very animalic due to the castoreum, but it’s not dirty; it’s sweet, slightly smoky, and incredibly creamy. Amber and leather notes are also present. It’s linear and simple, but the quality is evident from miles away, and it’s perfectly balanced; I haven’t seen a vanilla like this in designer perfumes. Good performance, not ‘beast mode’: projects for the first two or three hours, then stays intimate, lasting about 8 to 10 hours. Totally unisex. Versatile, though I wear it more for going out than for work. Once I finish my Yuniqu decant, I’ll buy the full bottle because I enjoy it so much. Despite the price, it’s justified here. I’ve finally found my favorite vanilla!
I love this vanilla, even though I understand the criticism regarding the price. It’s not complex or innovative; it’s a luxury unisex vanilla for lovers of the note. It has a special touch thanks to the amber and the animalic character. It’s sweet, creamy, slightly smoky, mature, and very long-lasting. It’s linear. The projection isn’t beast-like, except at the start; it’s moderate-to-soft but lasts about 10 hours. Versatile and easy for autumn and winter. A warm, hugging perfume for cold days. Scent 7/10, Longevity 10/10, Sillage 7/10, Value 5/10, Versatility 8/10, Packaging 8/10. Would I buy it again? Maybe.
It’s a marvel.
Sweet, dark, and creamy vanilla. It comes with divine amber and white musk. In the background, castoreum and leather. Normally I don’t like them, but here I enjoy them. The leather is subtle and the castoreum soft, well-blended, adding depth. It’s aphrodisiac, warm, simple, addictive, and sensual. Totally unisex, ideal for autumn/winter. High longevity, moderate sillage. It’s one of the best vanillas I’ve tried. I’d love the bottle, but it’s expensive; I’ll get a decant when I finish the sample.
I think this perfume has immense power. Initio with Absolute Aphrodisiac leaves a mark. The idea is clear: simple but impactful blends. Thanks to the castoreum, musk, and sublime vanilla, it aims to be aphrodisiac. Soft at first, like a purring cat, then it becomes wild and passionate. In the first hour, it smells like leather and a bit of patchouli. Don’t fear the castoreum; it’s light but key for the hot mix with leather, making the vanilla incredible thanks to the amber. Everything harmonizes perfectly. The musk closes the cake and accompanies me for about 7 hours of pleasure.
It opens with sweet, creamy vanilla, which soon blends with amber, leather, and castoreum, reminding me of burnt rubber. On the skin, it becomes a dry, dense but attractive sweetness. It’s not aphrodisiac until the very end; it’s heavy and linear, but with roses, it turns into magic. It’s an incredible base, totally unisex. If you wear too much, it invades. Initio’s Black Series is strong, punchy, and raw.
The scent is sweet chocolate, like a semi-bitter cake. The castoreum, which I’ve never tried before, is perfect here: balanced with sugar to give an animal touch that invites you closer. You can really feel the quality of the ingredients.
Honestly, it’s gorgeous—a totally addictive vanilla with hints of chocolate and spices. It also smells like church incense, which I didn’t expect and absolutely love (others might not notice it, but for me, it’s amazing). The longevity on my skin is wonderful: I sprayed one drop yesterday and I’m still getting bursts almost 18 hours later, although the projection is a bit low. I have a decant and expected not to like it because I can’t spend 200 euros on a bottle, but I sprayed a little more and I can’t stop smelling my arm. If I ever part with that kind of money, this is among the first options. Jackpot, come get me!
Absolute Aphrodisiac is absolutely dispensable. It’s a cheap, overly sweet vanilla with lots of Hedione and musk that makes it flat, boring, and without its own character. At these prices, you expect something special, distinct, and high quality, but honestly, that’s not the case. Where are the leather and castoreum notes? Where is the warmth they should have provided? A perfume that claims to be an aphrodisiac can’t be so bland. It’s a vision of aphrodisiac as a cheap, sugary sensation with an outrageous price. Comparing it to masterpieces like Shalimar, Xanath by Ponsá, or Dior’s Hypnotic Poison is impossible: there’s no color. Absolutely forgettable… Cheers.
Honestly, it’s gorgeous—a totally addictive vanilla with a touch of chocolate and spices. It also smells slightly like church incense to me, which I didn’t expect and, strangely, I absolutely love (even though others don’t get that note, but for me, it’s perfect). The longevity on my skin is amazing: I sprayed it on my neck once yesterday, and I’m still getting faint bursts of scent hours later, almost 18 hours after application, even though no perfume usually lasts for me. The projection is a bit low though. I have a decant and expected not to like it because I can’t afford to spend 200 euros on a small bottle, but I just sprayed a little more on myself and can’t stop smelling my arm. If I ever do splurge on that kind of money, this is definitely among the top choices without a doubt. (Lottery, come to me).
Absolte Aphrodisiac is absolutely dispensable. It’s a cheap, super-sweet vanilla with Hedione and musk that makes it flat, boring, and characterless. At that price point, you expect something special, but that’s not what you get. Where are the leather and castoreum notes? Where’s the warmth? An aphrodisiac perfume can’t be so bland. It’s a vision of the aphrodisiac as something sweet, cheap, and outrageously priced. How does it compare to Shalimar, Xanath by Ponsá, or Hypnotic Poison by Dior? No contest. Although I don’t usually talk about prices, once again, there’s no contest. Completely forgettable. Cheers!
It smells like olive. Not a bad thing, just smells like blooming olive.
This is a total game-changer for my ‘night out’ mode; it makes me feel like I’m wearing a potion of conquest 😅. Would I buy a bottle? No, because my 8ml decant from Pafory will last me a lifetime. It’s powerful and enchanting, but you don’t need to spray much, so I’d save it for special occasions. Edit: Well, I ended up using up the decant anyway, yes.
It smells like incense right out of the bottle, so much so that I thought I had the wrong decant. After 30 minutes, the magic happens and it turns into warm, ambered vanilla. It’s the best vanilla scent I’ve ever smelled. The notes say white flowers, but I don’t perceive them at all.
To me, it’s nothing special. Yes, it’s a somewhat interesting vanilla, but not worth that price.
Initio, take all my money and go. I don’t think there’s anyone on earth who wouldn’t like this fragrance. You might like it more, or perhaps a little less, but saying no feels improper. Its scent is linear, it doesn’t evolve over time: what you smell at the start is what stays. What does it smell like? Like an ambered, sugary vanilla served on top of a bed of musk. Although they claim some floral notes, I don’t perceive them. It’s addictively irresistible; its name lives up to it. I can’t stop wanting to smell it over and over again, it’s an almost disturbing addiction; I don’t know what molecules they put in here to make the brain stop wanting to catch them. If you’re wondering if it’s a blind buy… absolutely, buy it and be done. If I’m wrong, I’ll buy you the bottle, because it’s created an olfactory dependency for me.
One of my favorite Initio scents is this Absolute Aphrodisiac. But almost every time I check their page, I see they’ve raised the prices; I’m glad they can sell so much and at such high prices, even if it won’t be for me. Still, this house makes some great creations. So, if you can and want to, enjoy this masterpiece.
They recommended it saying it smelled like sex, but… nah! At most, it smells like conquest. It’s addictive and smoky… and ridiculously expensive! It could be Jessicka Addams from Jack Off Jill’s signature scent, with those fine white stripes over black suits she loves, white polka dots on black, and totally messy hair, yet projecting class amidst the chaos. Incredibly long-lasting. 9/10. 🔥
This oriental scent wraps me in creamy vanilla with castoreum and hidden spices (cinnamon and clove) that give it an animated personality, like a cozy den for beasts. Use it moderately to avoid being overwhelming; if you want it softer, mix it with pure vanilla oil. It’s incredibly addictive and feminine, though it can get tiring over time. Princess Mononoke would be its perfect ambassador: a strong, wild girl raised by the wolf goddess. I don’t detect the white flowers, just barely leather. The sillage and longevity are huge with just four sprays, ideal for winter, though it feels heavy in other seasons. As the house’s first perfume, you can tell the care put into its creation.
