Essential Myrrh by Natura is an oriental floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by Verônica Kato, Quentin Bisch, and Louise Turner. The top notes unfold with elemi, pink pepper, black pepper, and mandarin; the heart reveals a harmony of pepper, rose, and jasmine; while the base notes settle into myrrh, frankincense, balsam of Peru, amber, patchouli, cashmere wood, cedar, and vetiver.

  • GGGRRRRR wrote a lot and it got deleted. I’m pasting what I had in a notebook and will report my first impressions another day, but let me warn you upfront that they’re very favorable. Back in 2010, Natura had several fragrances no longer available at Ekos (priprioca, capitiú, cupuaçú, breu branco, and maybe I’m forgetting one). An old photo says breu branco is a soft resin with a pleasant, fresh scent, used in caboclo and indigenous rituals as incense, fuel for wood stoves, or to heat canoes. Today, Natura says it has woody and spicy notes, combining with sandalwood and Brazilian Cumarú for a unique and typical aroma. It’s called ‘Brazilian frankincense’ due to ritual uses similar to the Western tradition. Its botanical name is Protium Heptaphyllum, and both resins belong to the same family. A Brazilian raw materials website indicates the solid resin contains many monoterpenes like alpha-pinene, limonene, alpha-phellandrene, and terpinolene; limonene is common in fragrances.

  • GGGRRRRR I wrote a lot and it didn’t save!!!! Well, I’m pasting what I had written in a notepad and I’ll report my first impressions another day—which I’m already warning are very favorable!! In 2010 Natura had several fragrances no longer available in the Ekos line (priprioca, capitiú, cupuaçú, breu branco, and I might be forgetting another one). A photo of the company from back then says about breu branco: “In the Amazon jungle, there are ‘Breu Branco’ trees. Breu Branco is a soft resin with a naturally pleasant and fresh scent that has several uses in the ‘cabocla’ culture of the area, all of indigenous heritage. Its main use is as incense and smoke in religious rituals. It is also used as fuel for fire to help ignite wood stoves and as an ingredient to heat up canoes.” Today Natura says: “The Breu Branco resin has powerful aromatic, woody, and spicy notes that make it an unusual and valuable ingredient, especially appreciated for making body care products and perfumes. In the Breu Branco range products, the aroma of Breu Branco combines with the creamiest and most comfortable notes of Sandalwood and Brazilian Cumaru, offering a truly unique and typical Brazilian perfumed composition.” I’ve seen it also called “Brazilian frankincense” because it’s recognized for ritual uses similar to “Western incense.” Its botanical name is Protium Heptaphyllum, and I understand both resins belong to the same botanical family. A Brazilian raw materials website gives the following composition sheet for the solid resin: “The solid resin of the tree is composed of a large quantity of monoterpenes such as α-pinene (10.5%), limonene (16.9%), α-phellandrene (16.7%), and terpinolene (28.5%). The limonene present in the breu-branco resin is a common component in fragrances and essences.”

Hi! I’m from Argentina and I have some from Brazil if anyone is interested. My Instagram is @perfumesbastet.

  • I don’t know where to start, but it seemed like a super striking fragrance in its evolution. The opening is masterful: absolutely unisex, with a tangerine that isn’t fresh but maximally spicy and herbal, making it so pretty. Then it settles and shifts, revealing its balsamic floral side; I can’t distinguish it well, but it’s a woody, spicy side that accompanies it. You notice it until it dries down to the skin, where the floral side disappears, feeling almost exclusively like a sweet incense where you can’t distinguish the myrra, but it gives that sensation. I loved it, but I felt it was too heavy for my olfactory taste; it’s sweet yet not special enough for trying new scents that escape the typical. On blotter, I don’t know the elemi, but others in this line that have it give it that honeyed, sweet, fresh note that I don’t really like; however, in the opening, I feel the pink pepper making it spicy—not very highlighted, yet spicy, warm, and at the same time fresh and honeyed. I sensed more citrus on my skin, which is more pleasant, though I can’t distinguish any single note above the others. As it fades, the rose emerges—a cheerful rose due to the balsamic hint, something like a fresh rose that isn’t appreciated as much because of what accompanies it, giving it a vintage touch; as it dries down, it fades, and the sweet incense appears, which is much more noticeable on my skin than on blotter. Surprisingly pleased with this scent.

The feminine version opens with a resinous, spicy freshness; the added tangerine makes it feel like a velvety perfume. The rose and jasmine bloom in the heart and are a marvel, going hand in hand with the soft pepper and myrra, with the resins as the protagonists. Natura’s Essential Myrra is a marvelous fragrance that manages to be powerful yet fresh, possessing a warmth that makes it fascinating for an oriental, spicy yet very soft and very comforting, featuring a fresh balsamic side that’s slightly sweet. I loved this creation where a resinous floral Myrra makes it divine, just as the masculine version is a wonderful creation. Congratulations Natura on the audacity to create fragrances that carry history and cultures, along with much quality. I loved it. It has excellent performance on my skin, projecting for over 3 hours and lasting more than 8 hours. Quite resinous, myrra, balsam of Peru, and elemi stand out on my skin, aided by amber which adds a sweetness that isn’t too strong but very seductive.

I just bought it and it’s hot here; I didn’t dislike the scent, but oud and Elixir remain my favorites. It smells good, it’s clearly myrra, but I’m not sure. I’ll wait for the weather to change to see how it holds up.

  • marinitao

It’s exquisite and lasts without getting cloying. It feels very similar to Chanel Coco once it has dried down.

  • I didn’t click with this fragrance; glad I didn’t buy it blind. It’s not ugly; it feels creamy and spicy. It’s heavy, balsamic, and lasts almost 8 hours, but it smells like shampoo.

  • marinitao

It’s exquisite, long-lasting without being cloying. It’s very similar to Coco by Chanel once it dries down.

  • Essential Myrra smells great; I think it’s ideal for cool days. The opening is enchanting, sparkling, and strong; the balsamic side persists throughout. There’s an intense sweetness at first, but it’s not overwhelming, then the tangerine takes the lead and makes it more pleasant. The spices keep it magnetic. It’s a beautiful fragrance, but at times I struggle to find its harmony. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blind.

  • Luckily, someone gifted me this fragrance. I love spicy perfumes, but this just didn’t work with my skin; the constant myrrh and strong myrrh eventually became overwhelming. I gave it away, and the person was thrilled because it suits her perfectly. On her, it feels like a warm fragrance with a soft myrrh (which is exactly what I wanted for myself, haha). Well… it’s just a matter of pH 😉.

This Natura perfume is fantastic. The moment I used it, it reminded me of two fragrances: Eau des Merveilles by Hermès and Si Lolita by Lolita Lempicka. It shares notes with both, like Elemi resin and citrus notes. The Essencial Mirra feminine is a delicate and non-overpowering scent that accompanies you softly with its mandarin and resin notes. It’s subtly sweet, not cloying at all. It’s very rich and has nothing to envy from an imported fragrance or a designer house. Its scent and performance are similar to the two French fragrances mentioned above. I highly recommend this perfume; it’s the first Essencial I’ve bought, and frankly, it makes me want to try the other Essentials.

For now, I’ll just say I’m absolutely loving it; I tested the 1ml sample and thought it wouldn’t last, but it did. It meets my expectations: the myrrh is a balsamic scent that, like the other balsamic notes in Essencial Mirra Femenino, I adore. It’s deep and mysterious, with delicious mandarin and rose trailing behind the amber and resins. In fact, all the ingredients in the olfactory composition shine through in their respective phases. If you’re looking for something cheerful and romantic, don’t buy it; if you do try it, use a tiny amount because it can be intimidating. It smells like power, like a wealthy woman who knows how to live. Girls who dare to wear it will earn my respect… It brings me memories of the iconic Safari by Ralph Lauren for women, with its Arab and African nuances, and even the English crown.

  • This fragrance reminds me of an air freshener. It felt very old-fashioned, dry, and spicy, almost unisex. It conveys seriousness, and I prefer something cheerful, feminine, and happy. Not recommended for blind buys.

  • For now, I’ll just say I’m loving it; I used a bit of a 1ml sample and thought it wouldn’t last, but it did. Obviously, it meets all my expectations. The myrrh is a balsamic note that, like the other balsamic notes in the Essencial Mirra feminine, I adore. It’s very deep and mysterious, with delicious mandarin and rose notes emerging after the amber and resines. In reality, all the ingredients in the olfactive composition shine through in their respective phases. If you’re looking for a cheerful, romantic fragrance, stay away, and if you do try it, use very little as it can be intimidating. It smells like power, like a wealthy woman who knows how to live. Girls who dare to wear it will earn my respect… It reminded me of the iconic Ralph Lauren Safari for women, with its Arab and African nuances, and even the English crown.

  • This fragrance reminds me of a room spray. I found it very soapy, dry, and spicy, almost unisex. It conveys seriousness, and I prefer something cheerful, feminine, and joyful. I don’t recommend buying it blindly.

  • I tried it today because it’s discontinued. On my skin, I smelled the pepper and that DNA from Natura’s Essentials. But after half an hour, the resins took over, leaving a sweet, balsamic scent that felt like coffee—again, just on my skin. I loved it and already asked them to reserve one for me; this beauty has to be mine.

  • What an amazing amber and balsamic scent. Very spicy and feminine. It leaves a trail and is unlike anything else. I’d prefer to wear it on a date or in the fall or winter. It feels like three perfumers collaborated to create this beauty, which I still can’t fully decipher. It’s sweet, but don’t buy it blindly.

  • Don’t buy this blindly. It’s a mature, warm, slightly earthy, dusty, and sweet fragrance. I’m 30, but I still feel it’s not for me; it’s almost unisex, so it really comes down to personal taste. I’m not buying it.

  • Paulabazan

I’ve had this since 2023 and used it sparingly; it lasts incredibly long and projects consistently, but I still can’t decide if I love it or not. When I wear it myself, it gets overwhelming; I prefer perfumes that become a second skin. The thing is, I wore it this morning, felt it all day, and when I got home at night… my husband asked if I’d been smoking weed. I don’t smoke and don’t hang out with smokers, so I concluded it was the Essencial Mirra giving off that vibe. Plus, my mom has praised it every time I’ve worn it, and she actually loves the smell of weed. So: I’m not sure if I’ll wear it again since I hate being associated with that scent.

  • Hey, this isn’t for anyone looking for something simple or sweet; it’s for those who love resins and balsamic scents. It has a vintage vibe in the wood notes, but the spices and pepper make it feel more modern in that amber profile. I wouldn’t gift this to family or friends who aren’t perfume nerds, but if you want to expand your collection or dive into the niche world, I highly recommend it. It’s gorgeous for layering over a fruity base—it’s pure luxury. I wish it had a touch more rose for daily wear, but sometimes amber scents just feel boring after a while. 8/10.

  • I received it as a gift and initially doubted its authenticity, but it was a pleasant surprise. The opening is fresh with a spicy twist that I mistook for mint, though it’s actually a blend of elemi, pepper, and davana. Myrra anchors the top and base notes, accompanied by wheat and carrot hints reminiscent of a cake, without being cloying. It’s unique and not for every occasion, but I love that fresh blend of myrrh and tobacco that adds sweetness and depth. Longevity: I thought it was fake because it lasted only 4 hours, but Fragrantica claims over 8. After leaving it in a drawer out of disappointment and trying it later, I realized it was just olfactory fatigue. I applied it at noon and could still smell it on my skin at midnight; it lasts well for 6 hours before settling close to the skin. Projection is strong at first with constant bursts that can be overwhelming. I give it 8.5/10 for its limited versatility, though I don’t know the price since it’s not sold at Natura in Argentina.

  • A friend gifted it to me because he couldn’t stand it and thought it was impossible to wear. It’s a rare fragrance, extremely potent, and commanding. It’s not for everyone, but it has its own charm.

  • I bought it blind, hesitant due to the difficult reviews, but the tempting offer sparked my curiosity. Tremendous surprise: it’s not the same, yet I sensed a certain similarity to Hugo Boss Absolu. I’m not comparing them side by side, but it brought me straight back to that scent. A magnificent perfume; I didn’t struggle to adapt to it at all, and it’s highly recommended, an absolute gem.

  • I’ve tried almost everything from Natura, and I affirm this is the most potent in their catalog. It’s a beast of a fragrance.

  • I keep giving it chances and can’t. It’s dry; it gives me a sensation of carrot puree and wheat flour, nothing I can shake from my head. I can’t find anything good about it. It lasts barely 4 hours and doesn’t project much, lacking that interesting sillage. Of the same style, I prefer Kismet for Men by Maison Alhambra.

  • For those considering buying it: it’s worth it for the price; even if it cost double, it would still be worth it. It’s a unique, niche aroma you won’t find anywhere else. It evokes tranquility, peace, and the feeling that everything is going well. Few perfumes make me keep my nose pressed to my wrist for extra seconds deciphering the scent. It’s sensational and totally recommended.

  • AntRoquentin

More interesting than pleasant (how many haven’t been described this way, and if we’d heard it, we’d have taken it as a compliment). It has its point of distinction. Citric, resinous, and spicy opening with elemi and cardamomo. Then emerges the star duo: tobacco and myrrh. Citric, dry, spicy, and astringent tobacco with retro notes that bring back the orientals of the 90s, like the glorious Égoïste by Chanel. Myrrh is the counterpoint: bittersweet, smoky, mentholated, and festive, closer to Pure XS Night than the cold version by Tom Ford. I see it for cold nights, dates, or casual outings, being more versatile than it appears. It turned out more badass than pretty, Essentiel Mirra.

  • Huge. I got it for $15 at a virtual outlet. In the middle of Argentine summer, I couldn’t hold back and applied four test sprays with my finger: two on wrists, two on neck/jaw at 9 AM. I went out to the countryside, sweaty, uncared for, and even layered another summer perfume. By 11 PM, faint bursts of Mirra were still hitting me until I showered, and my wife could still smell it afterward (the other perfume had already vanished). It’s a Tom Ford on steroids at a ridiculous price. You need guts, leave the snobbery and posturing: today Natura would win any blind test against niche. Go buy it and wear it with formal attire, befitting such an aroma.

  • Best in the Essential line, hands down. It’s an absolute beast thanks to the blend of labdanum and resins like myrrh, balsam of Peru, and elemi. Smells ultra-masculine, powerful, with insane projection; if you overdo it, you’ll fill the room, but no one stays indifferent. For the price, it rivals expensive niches like Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. If you want personality and weeks-long longevity on clothes, buy it blind. If you dislike strong scents, test it first. The only downside is the painted bottle, which drags down the quality and makes it look like cheap cologne; it should be smoked glass.

  • Rafael Trinidad

Incredible experience! It projects strongly, radiating elegance and class, but the dry down is magic: a rich, sexy, addictive sweetness. Perfect for cold days and winter, it wraps you in an aroma that’s both elegant and seductive. Highly recommended; Natura knocked it out of the park with this perfume, offering niche quality at a great price. And the longevity? Wow! Absolutely amazing.

  • I own a stock of over 600 perfumes, including Arab, niche, and rare scents. It’s commendable that it’s refillable with a removable screw cap—congrats! The myrrh doesn’t smell exactly like incense, and maybe that’s a good thing since it’s less overwhelming. It’s very interesting, rich, and a fresh, soft blend of balsams, resins, vanilla tobacco, prunes, carrots, and refined patchouli that doesn’t overpower. It’s not a thick, toxic bomb; it’s a soft, sweet tobacco scent of high quality. Compared to Mugler’s A Men Pure Havane, Natura’s opening is fresher, spicier, balsamic, fruity, and peppered, while Mugler hits harder. After an hour, both dry down about 70% similarly and leave a nice trail: Mugler lasts 10 hours, Natura 8. I give it an 8 because I expected something bolder to shake things up, but it’s a perfect protocol scent. For me, Ekos Alma is a 10 for being unique, but that deserves its own review. I have several decants and will decide which bottle to order.

  • In the men’s line, the oud really shines. It follows the path of the discontinued Versace Oud Noir: a bitter-medical opening that lasts a few minutes, then fades leaving the oud 95% similar. The Versace has a bitter orange note, is less impactful—that’s the only difference. The oud smooths out and lasts about 6 hours on skin. If you like challenging scents, give it a try. Best for ages 35+, preferably on cold nights.

  • STGO.DECANT

Incredible dry-down; I recommend it 100%. You need to try it over a few days and accept that slightly strong opening. The star is myrrh. A perfect 10/10.

  • Propolis was what my girlfriend said when she tried it. It is true that it feels a bit camphorated and medicinal at first, but soon it smells like white chocolate with a subtle resinous base. I thought it would have a lot of myrrh like Avon’s Mesmerize, but that’s not the case. I think it’s very easy to like, nothing challenging, although it’s strange that some people say the opposite. It’s not a beast in terms of performance, but maybe it fades due to olfactory fatigue; of course, I live in a cold climate and I think Natura designed it for heat, since with heat the molecules activate. Recommended and great value.

  • Good fragrance, excellent, smoky and sweet. The opening is similar to Esencial Oud Vanilla at 80%, then after 10 or 15 minutes it takes a smoky, amber, and vanilla path, lasting 6 or 7 hours. It’s for winter; it gets through the first 5 minutes, which are cloying. Overall, I like it more than Esencial Oud Vanilla or Esencial Classic. It’s for dressing up, for men 35 and up. For those who prefer fresh scents, better to try it, you might not like it. In my case, it was a blind buy and it turned out excellent, high quality.

  • Luisrodriguez98

Very similar to three beasts: Bentley For Men Intense, Mugler Pure Havane, and Niche Oud by Armaf. It has Bentley’s leather base, Pure Havane’s sweet honeyed tobacco, and Niche Oud’s powerful amber. The one it resembles most is Bentley; on skin and clothes they are 90% identical. The note quality is incredible, surpassing designer scents that border on niche. It’s for going beast mode in very cold climates and open spaces; forbidden in offices. Longevity and projection easily exceed 8 hours; you can still smell it on clothes after washing. I have dry skin, and this Esencial Myrrh is one of the few that lasts this long. For men over 25.

  • Rich and rich, it’s like a Versace Oud Noir but friendlier and sweeter. It doesn’t smell cheap at all, excellent quality for the price.

  • Another gem from Natura with so many layers. It starts spicy with cardamom and pepper, then moves into a sweet scent that isn’t cloying, featuring vanilla and amber. The myrrh, which gives it its name, feels very soft to me. For me, the tobacco is the star note; it smells like a box of light cigarettes. I like it; it’s original. The longevity is moderate, around 5-6 hours, with a moderate trail. Don’t buy it blindly; it’s not for everyone. Note: I bought Mancera Red Tobacco, and the Essencial Mirra is very, very similar.

  • byrgertidesson

One of the best gifts from the Kings. Sweet smoky aroma surrounded by resins and spices, a delicious and complex bomb totally for fresh/cold climates, elegant and intoxicating. Projection and longevity are amazing; the EDP concentration gives good longevity, although over time the brief citrus notes fade and are taken over by a herbal/floral part that moves it away from church incense/myrrh to bring it to a dense and elegant environment. Rounder than the Oud one, with more projection and less cloying. Natura hit the nail on the head, 10/10.

  • It’s a very sweet and cloying perfume for my taste. It has a resinous myrrh that smells like rancid maple syrup. It’s only suitable for cold weather; otherwise, you’ll feel suffocated. It’s not unpleasant, but it’s a bad idea to buy it blindly.

  • It brings back childhood memories: gatherings at home with the smoke of light cigarettes, cakes baking, Vascolet cocoa, the kids’ snack time, and the parents’ chats. The chocolatey myrrh dominates, while the citrus notes are barely noticeable at first. Then the woods emerge, like my grandparents’ woodshed, with those resinous and fresh aromas of new timber. It’s evocative, balsamic, and cozy. Perfect for winter and the shoulder seasons. The trail is strong for the first two hours; 4 or 5 sprays are plenty for going out. It also works during the day thanks to that sweet, friendly tobacco scent. It lasts about 8 hours on skin and leaves a trail on clothes. It projects moderately for 3-4 hours; if you apply more, it goes beast mode. Recommended, a familiar and timeless aroma, vintage yet current. Natura keeps surprising me. A 10.

  • My favorite fragrance from Natura. The opening is vibrant, citrusy, and spicy, with pepper, cardamom, coriander, and bergamot. In the Argentine version, I sense a subtle mentholated touch throughout. I also detect cinnamon, which sometimes gets confused with plum. Although it lists many balsamic and sweet notes, it’s not gourmand or cloying. As the base reveals itself, it leans toward a floral resinous oriental, with delicate, undeclared notes of carnation and lily. This makes it unisex, but the mentholated and woody touch makes it more suitable for men. The myrrh is the least perceptible note.

  • Omar Loredo

I was given a sample and recognized it instantly. It’s very similar to L’Homme Ideal Extreme and EDP, as if they layered both but made it softer. I didn’t measure the longevity, but it seemed good. Given the price in Mexico, I would prefer the Guerlain L’Homme Ideal; they have a similar price point and better quality.

  • What a crazy fragrance, an exquisite scent. Low projection, medium longevity. Scent: 9/10, trail: 5/10, longevity: 7/10, total: 7/10.

  • It starts with alcohol, no citrus, maybe some cardamom and black pepper. Then it flattens out into balsamic notes, where I detect a touch of myrrh at first that later becomes strong. It blends with tobacco. The vibe is in the line of Homem Tato and Dom, with those gourmand chocolatey pipe tobacco accords. However, it stands out on the dry down. It might feel redundant compared to the other two. The quality doesn’t drop; it’s above the price point, like many Natura fragrances. It delivers the longevity and projection expected for an affordable cost without feeling unbalanced like some expensive ones. Note: Fragrantica says it has strong menthol and spicy notes with extraordinary longevity. In the Argentine version I tried, there are spices but no mint, and the longevity is average, lasting 3 to 6 hours.

  • marianoargentino

Hello, leaving my review for Natura Essencial Myrrh: it’s captivating, elegant, subtle, very masculine, well-balanced, intimate, and non-invasive—a nocturnal scent perfect for elegant dressing. The notes are very clear, and it’s high-quality domestic (Argentine) fragrance. It’s for mature men, over 40, nothing for teenagers. The opening features myrrh, nutmeg, creamy cardamom, spices, bergamot, and ripe plums. Then it moves to an amber side with resinous tobacco. In the heart, there’s saffron, a sugared oud with tonka and contrasts of exotic woods. Finally, leather, tobacco, chocolate, cocoa, and prominent patchouli. Scent: 9/10, trail: 6/10, longevity: 6/10.

  • andreuzx15

Simple and direct: EXCELLENT LONGEVITY AND PROJECTION. Lasts over 10 hours and even days on clothes, with projection lasting 8 hours without issues. Masculine, formal, and slightly mature scent. Wear it dressed up without overdoing it; it completes your outfit. It’s a delicious, warm, and hugging myrrh, not sweet, but spiced with a subtle pepper note. Once I tried a perfume in a store that smells the same on dry down: Hugo Boss The Scent Private Accord. When dry, it loses the coffee scent and settles into myrrh, but Natura is much more potent and strong. I really like it.

  • Chapeau, Natura! It’s all about taste, but if you love amber scents, this one delivers. It’s super amber, sweet, with Cavendish-style tobacco, smoked notes at the start, tonka bean, balms that give it texture, and that iris that smells like talc, plus myrrh. It’s serious, sober, and masculine. Perfect for dressing up or formal occasions, only in cold weather. You command presence and exude seriousness. It’s not for wooing girls, but for standing out among men as the alpha. Performance is 10/10: brutal opening, immediate projection (watch out not to over-spray). It’s very heavy. Projection lasts 3 hours: first spray is punchy, second is excellent, third is good. After four hours, it’s just a bubble nearby, and by the fifth or sixth hour, it’s skin scent only (but noticeable). The dry down lasts until 12 hours and on clothes for 3 days or more. When you move, you still leave a trail. Best performance from Natura. Not easy on soft noses. Punchy, not really for female tastes, but great for standing out among men. For me, the best from the house.

Great first impressions: a good fragrance for young adults wanting to project strong masculinity. Ideal for cold, formal, and special days. Highlights include tobacco, vanilla, and myrrh. Longevity exceeds 10 hours. Some videos say it resembles Mancera Red Tobacco. The difference is that Red Tobacco is more intense, like you just finished smoking, whereas Essencial Mirra is sweeter. Excellent alternative for exploring tobacco scents and oriental styles.

  • I’ve never tried Tobacco Oud, but I’ve used the entire L’Homme Ideal line from Guerlain. On dry down, this Essencial Mirra smells almost identical to Homme Ideal Extreme on my skin. I’m surprised I didn’t notice that sooner. Great longevity and quality ingredients. I wouldn’t recommend buying it blindly if you’re looking for something fresh, but it’s not as risky as it seems.

It gives me conflict. The opening isn’t my thing; the balms are very strong and give it an oily vibe. Maybe the vanilla and tonka bean give it a chocolatey air, but in a bad way. Fortunately, that fades quickly. Then you notice a soft myrrh, with amber, tobacco, and resins becoming more pleasant. Like many complex perfumes, some ingredients aren’t noticeable. I can’t detect carrot or plum. It’s very masculine and formal; I’d recommend it to men over 30 for elegant occasions. I’ve been complimented, but I don’t think I’ll buy it again. It’s not bad, just not what I was looking for. Maybe I’ll get used to it or change my mind over time.

Essential Mirra by Natura. This new fragrance surprises by breaking away from Natura’s traditional formula of harsh, strong essences. Here, pepper, vanilla, amber, woods, and tobacco blend into a sweet, almost cloying mix. Perfumer Veronica Kato is often called ‘simple,’ but this shows real boldness. Some won’t like it. It smells like chocolate with herbal and earthy undertones, always sweetened by the warmth of vanilla and dominated by myrrh. It’s an adult fragrance perfect for winter or evening wear. Overall, I think it’s a great proposal that steps out of Natura’s comfort zone to embrace risky eccentricity. Scent: 9.0. Projection: moderate for 2 hours. Longevity: 8 hours. Recommended if you want to try oriental scents.

I was lucky to try a decant since it’s not yet available in my country. It’s an oriental, bottled myrrh. Masculine and sweet, ideal for winter, cold, rainy days, suitable for day and night. I hope to try the full bottle soon, but the decant lasts over 12 hours on skin and more than a day on clothes, leaving a trail for about 3 hours.

Natura did a great job with this niche proposal. They went for something different in their portfolio; you wouldn’t say it’s just another one of the same. While it shares connections with other fragrances, it’s not a trend. People say it’s very similar to Tobacco Oud, but I found points of resemblance to another Tom Ford Tobacco, Tobacco Vanille. And watch out, it’s not the same as Tobacco Vanille, just that spiced side of cinnamon, clove, vanilla, and frankincense myrrh. On my skin, it takes me back to Tom Ford. For those who like Tobacco Vanille, they might like Mirra, which is much easier to wear because the resinous side doesn’t suffocate but adds comfort, elegance, and mysticism. Essential Mirra is much less sweet than Essential Oud. I like Oud, but I liked Mirra more. In summary, it’s worth having. Natura is betting on something less of a safe bet, risking on something sui generis that won’t leave you indifferent. Save it for cold, crisp days, dinners, or elegant outings, and you’ll shine on your own.

  • EDIT: One try isn’t enough; I didn’t like it at first, but now I feel things I didn’t notice before. The opening is like opening a lime and lemon soda—refreshing and sweet. Then, the bitter chocolate mentioned by others feels distant; I sense it like finding the wrapper of that chocolate with an old-world vibe after some time has passed. It’s not very noticeable. As it dries down, the amber notes intensify, and I smell tobacco, before settling into a myrrh base that isn’t quite incense; it’s far away and very honeyed. I like it, but not enough to buy, and I see it as unisex, leaning more toward vintage masculine (no, I didn’t flash back to Opium). As it dries, it gives that feeling of a boozy amber, not quite the same, reminding me of Essential Oud Vanilla. At first sniff, it’s a very invasive, honeyed scent with a herbal note vaguely reminiscent of eating honey and eucalyptus candies. Nothing like what I imagined. Once it settles on the skin, it reminds me, though not really, of the vintage vibe of Opium, only that Opium feels more refined to me and has more spice. Myrrh appears splendidly in dry-down, something I feel is covered up here by… perhaps tolu balsam and vanilla? They’re so sweet they cover everything. What a pity.
