Edit of the edit, haha. I tried the ones people say resemble Homem Dom (no, they share only the opening, then they take different paths; Dom is quite vanilla-heavy). Reconnect has nothing in common… and Mirra reminds me of many other balsamic scents in the Natura line, but they aren’t similar. EDIT: I ended up loving it so much that I want a decant that never runs out, haha (I treat it like liquid gold. Among myrrh, oud, and vanilla scents, this is the one I like the most, besides Oud Fem). It hasn’t arrived in Argentina yet; the one I tried is Brazilian. It’s interesting that there are votes but no reviews. I’ll just say the first minutes are amazing—it’s fresh and very herbal, assuming it’s the cypress heart combined with cardamom and pepper openings. That fresh palo santo base is enchanting. Then it dries down, staying herbal but becoming more honeyed and balsamic, like a warming sensation. Over time, it sweetens more and loses those intoxicating notes to become a common woody amber scent, a vintage masculine smell reminiscent of post-shave creams. You can still feel the palo santo, but I wish it didn’t overwhelm the base so much; I assume the sandalwood and tonka bean sweeten it that way. It’s because of the dry-down that it feels similar to Essential Mirra (but the palo santo is tolerable and more masculine). Mirra gives such a strong honey sensation that I can’t stand it, and I see it as unisex leaning feminine.
Edit of the edit, haha. I tried the ones said to be similar to Homem Dom (no, it gives a hint of its opening, but they take different paths; the Dom is very vanilla-forward). The Reconnecto has nothing in common… and the Mirra reminds me of it just as many Natura balms do, but they aren’t similar. EDIT: I ended up liking it so much that I want the decant, may it never end (I treat it like liquid gold, like the Mirra, oud, and vanilla ones; it’s the one I liked the most besides the Oud Fem). Here in Argentina it hasn’t arrived yet, what I tested is Brazilian. It’s interesting that there are votes but I don’t see reviews. The first minutes I love; it feels fresh, very herbal (I assume it’s the heartwood cedar and the opening of cardamom and pepper). That fresh palo santo base bewitches you. Then it dries down, staying herbal, more honeyed and balsamic, like a warming sensation. As time passes, it sweetens more and loses those intoxicating notes to become a common sweet woody amber scent, a vintage masculine smell that reminds me of aftershave creams. You can feel the palo santo, but I wish it didn’t cover the base so much; I assume the sandalwood and tonka bean sweeten it. Based on its dry down, it becomes similar to the Essential Mirra (but the palo santo is bearable and more masculine), while the Mirra gives such a strong honey sensation that I can’t stand it and see it as unisex leaning feminine.
Sweet woody fragrance, same DNA as the Essential line, but it highlights a well-executed palo santo note, slightly sweet. Lasts 4 hours projecting and several more in the trail. Moderate price for a catalog fragrance. Recommended because it’s different, and I don’t know of another that uses palo santo.
Excellent fragrance with an unusual aroma: Palo Santo. It has some similarity with Homem Dom from the same house, but it stands out. The palo santo is handled tolerably, not overwhelming. It’s a joy to wear and creates a nice trail. I tested samples before buying and was impressed. I wore it to the office (I arrived on a motorcycle and it carried the scent with me), and after 4 hours it still smells like incense. Worth it, but not for heat; it’s much more enjoyable in the cold.
Where do you guys buy the Essentials?
Wow, I just bought it, it’s a new launch, and I’m a fan of the Essential line, especially the Mirra. This is the most natural palo santo I’ve ever smelled: potent, with a liquorice and smoky touch. Then it settles into woods, sandalwood, and amber, right on the skin, sweet but not repulsive. It doesn’t kill me; the Mirra is more potent, but this smells like exquisite palo santo. It has a powerful, slightly alcoholic opening that calms down after a few minutes. It lasts many hours. Worth it from Natura; I missed an aroma this pure since they discontinued the Amor de América palo santo.
Excellent fragrance with an unusual aroma: Palo Santo. It has similarities to Homem Dom from the same house but stands out well. The palo santo scent is crafted in a tolerable, not overwhelming, way, and it’s truly enjoyable to wear with good sillage. Before buying, I tested samples and was impressed by how well they smelled on skin. I wore it to the office (I arrived by motorcycle and most of it got lost in the wind), yet after 4 hours, it still perfumed like a stick of incense. Worth it, but not for hot weather; it’s much more enjoyable in the cold.
Excellent fragrance, long-lasting, and unique. Worth every penny of this entire Natura line.
I tried it recently and was surprised by that freshly extinguished palo santo note. It belongs to the same line but with an original touch. The longevity is excellent; the next day it still smelled right on the skin. I definitely want it for the future.
True to its name: a fairly sweet and amber palo santo that becomes incense-like as it dries down. Honestly, I can’t find much more to say. Lasts about 10 hours and projects quite strongly until the end of the second hour. The trail is always present. Smells like a walking incense burner.
Perfect for winter days, it acts like an olfactory alarm clock. It’s very basic and familiar to anyone who uses palo santo at home or practices yoga. It’s a more serious, less sweet version of One Million, with wood dominating.
I loved it. Strong opening that reminded me of Mirra, then as it dried down, it felt like a very sweet palo santo, very pleasant. For me, it lasts a good 6 hours on skin and projects a lot at first. I don’t see it for young people, but rather for those 30 and up. I don’t think anyone would dislike it, unless they have prejudices based on the name, because it doesn’t smell like incense, but rather like palo santo wood.
Loved it. The opening is potent with notes of myrrh, but as it dries down, a very pleasant sweet palo santo emerges. Lasts about 6 hours on skin and projects strongly at first. Not for young people; better suited for those 30 and up. I doubt anyone would dislike it unless they have preconceptions based on the name, because it doesn’t smell like incense—it smells like palo santo wood.
As mentioned below, I agree that at first it reminds me of Essential Mirra, but as it dries down, it turns into a sweet palo santo scent. That sweetness lasts throughout the entire duration. It has the classic DNA of the Essential line by recalling Mirra and, to a lesser extent, Essential Oud, but this Palo Santo is more measured and not as overwhelming. Great perfume from Natura, recommended for its aroma and longevity. Ideal for cold climates.
After trying it for a while, I say that the palo santo aroma is very well crafted, accompanied by a slight sandalwood and cedar. It doesn’t stand out for its evolution and has an opening that reminds me of black pepper, though it lasts only a few minutes. It seems very balanced and long-lasting with good initial projection. Excellent price for what it offers, and I’d dare to say it’s the best in the Essential line. It doesn’t surpass Essential Oud in performance, but it does in aroma and note quality. I recommend it for cold and temperate climates. Versatility isn’t its strong suit; it’s reserved for the fresher seasons. If you like the Essential line, it’s more than recommended.
Just bought it and I can’t find any other perfume that smells like it; it smells like warm dulce de leche, perfect for this season, autumn. It relaxes me instantly. In a nutshell: it’s gourmand.
It smells exactly like that… quite sweet and ambered palo santo that becomes incense-like as it dries down… Honestly, I can’t find much more to say. It lasts about 10 hours and projects quite strongly until the second hour… The sillage is always present. For the scent of a walking incense burner…
One of the best in this series. Very similar to John Varvatos, Dunhill Icon Elite, and Apex by Fragrance World (which is a clone of Penhaligon’s Mr. Sam). It has a pretty heavy sillage.
Exactly the same as Coffee Man Paradiso by O Boticário. It’s a 99% clone.
I can barely distinguish the notes, but I detect spices at the top, something floral in the middle, and a woody base. The palo santo is barely noticeable, especially compared to Amor América Palo Santo or Biografia Assinatura; its presence is very restrained. It might seem linear, but it’s not; it’s quite complex. Some references help: it shares notes with Homem Dom and Homem Tato, that sweet chocolatey syrup. The blend seems like a sum of that with some spices added. It’s a good alternative if you’re on a tight budget, considering the exorbitant price of imports outside Mercosur. Many agree they smell better than they cost. It’s for winter, feels young and informal, a bit loud; could be good for going out at night or not for the office. Final point: the base notes are extremely masculine.
Delicious fragrance, but the performance is a disaster; you’re better off going with Homem Neo or Dom. Natura has stopped taking care of this category in their recent launches.
I’ve tried almost everything from Natura and I must say I really liked it. Although I’m not a fan of their scents, this is one that really invites me to wear it. I detect vanilla, palo santo, a touch of incense, and woods. It’s linear as they say, but it has nuances and evolves. I love the dry-down. It’s very warm, ideal for cold climates. I won’t give it more points because the vanilla (even though they don’t claim it) is already getting me tired; I find it in almost all modern perfumes. Scent: 6.5/10 Longevity: 5/10 Projection: 6/10 Sillage: 5/10 Value for money: 7/10 Blind buy: 2/10 Season: Temperate or cold.
I asked Santa Claus for an Amouage perfume, but he brought me Palo Santo by Natura. We’re in tough times here in Argentina, and I haven’t been such a good boy either. But I must admit this fragrance has captivated me. With one spray, you become a hippie traveling through Latin America with a Manu Chao tattoo. You lose the urge to shower and start looking at Cuba’s archaic political system with affection. Ideal with sandals, Bali pants, colorful t-shirts, leather bracelets, and a wool backpack. Great perfume for the price. Ideal for a between-home look or a relaxed, happy style.
I asked Santa Claus for an Amouage perfume, but he brought me Palo Santo by Natura. We’re in tough times here in Argentina, and I haven’t been such a good kid either. But I must admit that this fragrance has completely captivated me. With just one spray, you become a hippie traveling through Latin America with a Manu Chao tattoo. You lose the urge to shower and start looking at Cuba’s archaic political system with affection. Ideal to wear with sandals, Bali pants, colorful t-shirts, leather bracelets, and a wool backpack. It’s a great perfume for the price. Perfect for a casual look or a happy, relaxed style.
I tried it and thought it was very rich. It’s very similar to Homem Tato, but ‘improved,’ making it even more like Bvlgari Man in Black. Sweet, rich, heavy floral, almost liquor-like. That said, it gives the impression of not projecting much.
The Essential Palo Santo by Natura is a fragrance that stands out for its woody and amber profile, with a balsamic and incense touch that makes it an undervalued option for those on a budget. Perfect for the colder months, its warm and comforting composition creates a cozy and serene atmosphere. The opening is marked by those woody notes intertwining with the amber, but what really defines this perfume is its distinctive balsamic touch, a hallmark of the Natura house. This nuance might not be to everyone’s taste, especially for those not used to the intensity of this type of composition, so it’s not recommended to buy blind. As for longevity and projection, it excels. Its longevity is impressive, lasting around 8 hours, while its projection is notable for the first 2 hours, leaving a persistent trail without being overwhelming. In summary, it’s a sophisticated fragrance, ideal for those seeking something warm, woody, and incense-like, but with the caution that its balsamic touch might not suit everyone. Definitely a perfume for those who love fragrances with character and depth, especially during winter. Rating: 7.5/10.
I love it!!!
Great perfume. You can really feel the palo santo and the incense balanced by the slightly sweet rose note. The amber adds the smoky touch. Delicious, but it’s not a perfume to please everyone, but rather one to enjoy. Edit: It’s no longer discontinued.
It’s quite good. It’s a well-rounded and very balanced scent. It’s a palo santo that isn’t dry or toasted, quite fresh. It’s not that smell I hate so much—the palo santo burned by hippies outside the metro or in their shops. It’s for spring or autumn in the afternoon and evening, and it’s more intimate. It’s too heavy for a hot day, but it doesn’t project enough to go out at night. Great for dates or family gatherings. I’d buy it in decant format only; it’s not strong enough to justify buying the full bottle.
A perfume unlike anything you’ve tried. Maybe a faint resemblance to Tom Ford’s Oud Wood, but only about 20%. This one is more wearable because, besides being woody and aromatic, it highlights a sweet balsamic note. A gem from Natura, unfortunately discontinued. I found it by pure luck at a Natura store here in La Serena, Chile. It cost me $23 (23,000 Chilean pesos), a steal. The Essentials line is the most expensive from Natura, and this one came out at the price of Kaiaj, haha. I got lucky. Now, it’s not a perfume for everyone; it’s not for college students looking to live off parties, being silly and dancing. It’s for people with a well-formed taste and personality. Ideal for work in winter, a business dinner, or with family at a nice restaurant with semi-formal to formal attire.
I’m commenting on this perfume again. I wore it because it’s getting cold here in La Serena, and the dry-down is marvelous. The opening is purely palo santo, but the dry-down… oh my god, what richness.
I bought it blind and fell in love at first sight. It’s distinct from everything else but easy to enjoy. I wouldn’t wear it alone in winter, but for mild, warm days in the afternoon or evening, it works wonderfully. I think I might like it even more than the Essential Oud, which is my favorite from the brand so far. Well done, Natura!
Smells exquisite, with a very prominent palo santo note and a touch of black pepper that gives it just the right kick. I love it because it doesn’t give me headaches like other perfumes; I can wear it all day without it being overwhelming. In fact, it’s this scent that got me into the world of perfumery.
