Hi! I dug this out of my stash and tried it on; I’ve had it tucked away for years and couldn’t remember the scent. My goodness! It’s very similar to the classic Idole, my favorite from that line. Roses dominate about 90%. It’s ideal for a cool spring night, more of a night scent, but I’ll wear it during the day because I love it, though it might be overpowering in the heat. It’s elegant, very feminine, and could easily be my signature. You have to love roses!

Sophisticated, clean, and elegant, with a super exquisite floral note. I bought it blind for an incredible price, and it’s now one of my favorites. On my skin, it smells like sweet, fresh freesia, a rose that doesn’t get muddy (and if it did, I’d still like it), and a juicy, freshly cut pear. It lasts about 5 hours on a 34°C afternoon and I’ve gotten lots of compliments. It reminds me of a mature, refined version of my beloved Avon Luminata with the Essencial line DNA. I find it ideal for hot weather.

Fresh, very Idole-style. Clean floral, rose, pear, and musk. It has great presence and leaves a nice trail. One of my favorites. Very feminine.

If there’s one word to describe it, it’s Elegant. Violets, lily, something citrusy, yes, musk, and a touch of patchouli… all that cloud empowers the wearer’s walk. Very pleasant and feminine; I don’t find it sweet or cloying, just very floral and elegant. Lasts 6 hours on skin, with a moderate but noticeable sillage. Beautiful!

I recently added it to my collection; it’s exquisite and super wearable, not heavy. I’d dare say it’s very similar to IDÔLE, just a bit more citrusy, and of course, the difference is the vanilla. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin. For me, it’s for all-day wear in cool climates, from autumn to spring; on hot days, maybe at night, though it’s not overwhelming. I loved this perfume, even though I’m usually a sucker for sweets, this one SURPRISED me.

It’s the most different one in the collection, the only one I know that doesn’t smell exotic, creamy, sweet, and elegant. Because of its citrus notes, anyone can wear it in any climate. Feminine, tender, and it dresses you up well. It could easily pass as a designer fragrance. Recommendation: if you like floral and sweet scents. Comments suggesting it’s old-fashioned or for older people seem ignorant. I don’t find any similarity to past perfumes, nor do I think just because someone has reached a certain age they become ‘old’ and can only smell old. I’d consider wearing it if I found the secret to eternal youth. One day you’ll wake up old, dear, hopefully with a little luck…

Those calling it ‘for ladies 50 and up’ are actually the ones who are better off and wear fragrances from their twenties. The people making those comments are completely out of touch. Turning 50 doesn’t mean you’re dying; you’re just starting to truly live, and the same goes for perfumes. I feel sorry for those who categorize everything by age. I’m 24 and I love this fragrance. My mom, 44, wears Escandal and Libre Intense, so fragrances and ages don’t match up anymore in this era. It’s sad to see women writing things like that.

I bought this blind because it was on promotion along with Essencial Oud, and both were great hits! The Elixir is a clean, woody floral scent with a creamy, sweet touch. Patchouli and musk are noticeable throughout the entire wear. There’s a hint of typical wood or resin found in natural perfumes. Overall, a perfume with great longevity and sillage. Clean but intense, with presence. Be careful with sprays. Recommended.

I love it! I can wear it all day; it’s not tiring. It’s worked really well on my skin. It’s not sweet, nor is it a fragrance you should buy blind. I think it fits the line of IDOLE, CLOE, and classic KAIAK; I’d even risk saying it’s like classic J’ADOR (clarifying that’s how I perceive it with my nose, every nose feels it differently). I feel it’s a perfume for being fresh and dressed up, for the office or going to work, since I don’t feel it’s for parties because it doesn’t last long on my skin and I find it super soft. Maybe I wouldn’t buy it again because there are so many fragrances for daily wear, and I’d rather experiment with others too.

Today I had the pleasure of wearing it in cold weather, and I was surprised once again by Natura’s creations. After reading previous reviews and the notes, I had an idea of its aroma, but… upon spraying it on clean skin today, its citrus opening and clean, earthy dry-down delighted me. I know it doesn’t list rose pepper as a note, but I sense that typical spicy kick that persists in the evolution. I’m not a huge fan of rose pepper, but this fragrance makes you feel clean, authentic, and versatile. I see it for any occasion, and at least in winter and spring (in my country we’ve had almost two weeks of spring, but the weather still brings winter leftovers), its performance is excellent. It was a blind buy, but it’s totally worth it… Did they say it was like Idole? Hmm… it’s far from being sweet and creamy; that subtle aroma of roses soaked in citrus persists, with earthy vibes.

Just picked it up and it smells divine—super fresh and relaxing, nothing heavy with a luxurious trail. It’s very similar to IDÔLE. I love Natura’s essences; while this one is different from the others, I’m not regretting the purchase at all 😍😍

I’ve worn it several times and gotten many compliments, but it gives me headaches. I find it rich, but it causes a whole other level of discomfort. I own many Natura perfumes as a consultant and have tried almost all of them, even the oud, which doesn’t make me nauseous like this one. Honestly, I should have sold it, haha. I read it’s similar to IDÔLE… friend, if you’re looking for IDÔLE here, run (unless you like a sweeter, dustier IDÔLE). I’m giving it away for adoption; it deserves more love because it’s actually a good perfume.

Clásica
Essential Elixir is elegant and feminine. In my case, the violet note dominates with its characteristic talcum accord, like powder makeup, and the well-known minted patchouli from Verónica Kato. I’d mostly categorize it as a sweet, powdery floral, in the same family where Kenzo Flower is the king. As for longevity and trail, both are moderate but perform well; the price and presentation are reasonable. Elixir is an ideal fragrance for semi-formal occasions, even for work, because it’s sober yet perfect for a meeting with a great impression. I consider it a good option for all year except very hot weather. It’s a sober Essential and an excellent alternative in catalog perfumery. Who will like it: fans of powdery florals.

vivimo
I really liked this fragrance; it’s a medium floral chypre. I feel like a mix of several perfumes I know, which people compare it to: from IDÔLE, I sense the rose and a powdery/spicy part, but it’s not the same—it lacks more flowers and freshness. With EDEN and QUÍMICA by HUMOR, I feel they share a similar olfactory sensation, that powdery spice the three of them have, but in reality, they don’t resemble each other at all: EDEN is a green floral chypre, while QUÍMICA by HUMOR has pomegranate and is fruitier than this. Narciso isn’t similar; the only thing they share is that both are chypres. And I understand the comparison with Jimmy Choo, but I feel that one is fresher and spicier; this one is more versatile. I own both, and I liked this more for its pear and bergamot opening, with a slightly talcum dry-down; the other is sweeter and more liquorish. I’m testing it in full summer during the day and I like it. I think I’d wear it at night in summer or on cloudy summer days because sometimes intense aromas make me dizzy in this season. But in autumn, I’ll wear it all day. AHH, and for me, what is it similar to? I feel it’s like an ESCADA ESPECIALLY ELIXIR, which is powdery roses with patchouli; that one has plum, this one doesn’t, but I sense the pear and citrus in the opening, the rose in the heart, and the powdery, musky, patchouli dry-down in both. Not the same, but if you like that one, you might like this.

I bought it yesterday and I don’t know if it’s the warm weather, but while it’s pleasant, I feel it’s too soft and doesn’t last. Maybe perfumes made in Argentina are more ‘watered down’? What a pity. I expected more.

Pre-2021 edition: A jewel from Natura. If you want an excellent dupe of Panthère, it surpasses it hands down. Feminine, elegant, and captivating.

magia olfativa
Another gem from Natura that isn’t even on their catalog yet and is an absolute must-try scent journey. That’s why I have half a bottle left because I wear it for professional events, but I’m not at them all the time. I used to own La Panthere by Cartier, but I sold it once I discovered this elixir, which I liked even more; it’s more wearable and has more patchouli, which is my favorite note. Please, more of this!

magia olfativa
Another Natura jewel that I can’t find in their catalog and which, for me, is an essential olfactory journey; that’s why I still have plenty of perfume left in the bottle since I like it for professional events and I’m not attending them all the time. Once I owned La Panthère by Cartier but ended up selling it after discovering this Elixir, which I liked even more. It’s more wearable and has more patchouli, which fascinates me and is the note that dominates in my skin. More of this, please!

I’m still confused about this perfume; the reviews impress me lol, but I’ve hated it; I didn’t like it. It smells to me like resin, or maybe it’s the amber. The catalog description confused me; it doesn’t smell like flowers at all… the sad part is that the bottle has been full in my perfume box for a while and I don’t know what to do with it. I’ve shown it to other friends and they don’t like it either. Help u.u

Panta
On my skin, it feels fresh and elegant. The muguet and violet stand out. Highly recommended for those who enjoy floral perfumes. Excellent price-quality ratio. I really like it. Longevity of about 6 hours and notable projection for the first 3 hours.
-
clau cheirosa
I was looking for something similar to Cartier’s Panthère but more affordable, and I found it. The opening is identical, then it turns herbal with patchuli, wood, and amber at the base. Top-notch quality; ideal for night, not for clean lines or morning/work wear. I see it as unisex and there’s nothing to envy in an import.
-
GabbyChang
Not my favorite from the Essencial line, but I love it. Energetic and feminine. At first, I thought it was for an older person, but the opening leaves a warm trail of green nuts that’s what I liked. I find it informal; perfect for casual outings or family gatherings, no way to go wrong.

What a wonderful Natura perfume, the best of the brand. It’s powerful, fresh, enveloping, full of vitality and empowerment. Yes, it’s that potent patchuli, balanced but present. They say it awakens sensitivity and makes you feel seductive; I say they’re right, you feel yourself vibrating with it. I bought it for Christmas, thought it was only for winter, but I can’t stop using it; it feels great in any weather. My favorite elixir for its color and scent.
-
Gildita
My favorite from the Essencial line. I like it because it doesn’t have that violet note I don’t enjoy. I love its patchuli and that it’s oriental.
-
CarCar
Quick review I’ll complete when I get home and can smell it properly. I’m surprised not to see resins in the listed notes because I definitely feel them: resins, flowers, and woods. I think the violets stand out more than the rose, sparkling violets that are barely powdery. The woody phase takes presence on me. It’s also an oriental. It’s very lovely; the whole Essencial line is more complex than prejudice admits for a catalog brand; they aren’t repetitive or copies. The presentation places it in ‘night perfume’ or ‘party’ (only offered during Christmas and New Year), but it’s totally usable daily. It is dressed up, but in the office, meetings, or with friends, it can be worn without issues. It tends to associate with the person, though it doesn’t have much of a memory effect because neither the violets nor the exclusive Essencial are that popular. Does it resemble Petit Robe Noir or For Her? I don’t know… Maybe it shares the air of Estée Lauder’s Modern Muse Chic.

chicatrendy
I bought it recently, just like Natura’s usual: excellent quality and original scents. At first, it smells strong, then the intensity drops, ideal for cold climates; seems too dense for heat. The intensity is moderate and the longevity good, about 5 to 7 hours depending on skin pH. On my skin, it smells floral, but it’s a floral/woody/spiced mix leaning oriental. It’s a complex scent, not a specific flower but a blend. I’d say it targets a young, mature woman, around 25 and up; on my skin, it smells elegant, sober, and formal.
-
Carla Mont
Perfect elixir for mild or cold days, a rich blend of flowers, red fruits, and patchouli with a formal touch. I hope Natura relaunches it and keeps it around…

A perfume for everyday; on my skin, it feels more woody than floral. It’s quite oriental.

Greetings fellow fragrance enthusiasts: I acquired this proposal called Essential Elixir by Natura. I must admit I wasn’t in the mood to buy anything from this brand as I’m a bit picky and normally I buy fragrances from established houses or recognized designers. However I decided to buy my first Natura perfume the Essencial Elixir and frankly it was a great surprise. I can assure you it’s a quality aroma with very good longevity elegant refined and formal. Brands like Carolina Herrera (Men Prive) or even Giorgio Armani (Acqua di Giò Profumo) would wish they could show aromas with this level of quality. I never expected to get what I paid for. Very happy with this purchase I’ll continue testing proposals from this house although I know not all will be this good but this is a Must Have. By the way it gives a very faint hint of Bentley Intense from afar but they don’t resemble each other; they go parallel paths but aren’t the same. Greetings to the group.
I sold the Prive and stuck with this proposal. I have nothing more to say.
I can only add that it’s the same identical to Azzaro Elixir. The other day I thought about buying it again until I received this and thought: why spend more for the same thing? I still have mixed feelings as an admirer of these two extraordinary houses but what Natura achieves with Verónica Kato is sublime. I invite you to dare to buy Natura perfumes blind.
It is (to say the least the best because I still lack smelling many Natura fragrances) it’s the best I’ve had from the brand so far. Its aroma is exquisite but hard to understand. The vanilla cognac and leather are pleasant to my taste though not everyone will like them. I’d say it smells like a formal serious man with good taste very little youthful (16-40). I don’t recommend buying it blindly; I’ve smelled a sample before purchasing. The price is excellent for what we receive. Description in 3 words: Formal Sweet Not very youthful.
Any reviews on the 2021 version?
Essential Elixir Natura (2021). Greetings. I have the 2017 2018 2019 and this 2021 version. The two older ones seem almost identical; the new one is just a bit deeper and denser 98 identical. This depth is noticeable in the olfactory sensation more intense as if it had greater retention. It’s a fabulous sexy delicious fragrance; my favorite from Natura. Testing performance: this new version has lower performance than its predecessors. Since the previous ones are EDTs and this is an EDP the past versions project well for 2 hours and then drop while this 2021 version projects for 1 hour and plummets drastically staying close to the skin for the remaining 6 hours. If you’re looking for something in the line of CH Men Prive Hugo Boss Absolute or Armaf Radical Brown this is one of the best in its class. Scent: 9.0. Projection: Low (1 hour good then fades). Longevity: 6 hours (close to skin). Recommended for the scent but the performance leaves much to be desired.
Albineitor: Apparently it’s the same one relaunched in 2021 according to Natura Mexico: The scent doesn’t change the olfactory path is the same. Enjoy the delicious elixir aroma with a new presentation. Name and content remain the same so you have the same experience but improved. What changes? A turn in the brand concept a more renewed and authentic image. They changed the packaging and are looking for real and authentic people as the face of the product. Therefore for those who already have it the change isn’t worth much unless you want the new bottle.
I see there aren’t many reviews here. Maybe because it’s seasonal I confused it with Essencial Exclusivo. They say this Elixir resembles CH’s Prive but I don’t find much resemblance. Maybe it’s the feeling because CH is smokier darker and more coquettish. However this Elixir is the opposite of CH. The opening is indeed smoky but without that rubbery burn with the eccentric sweetness of the Prive. As it evaporates Elixir reveals its citrus and pepper notes a masculine aroma that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. The heart is sweet not annoying just right. Very good. I’d describe it as warm spicy and woody. The base is wood as in most Natura scents where they excel. Maybe they could have accentuated the cognac or tobacco like their sister Intenso to round it out and make it more sober. But that’s not its goal nor does it reach niche status and as it is it’s very good. It goes perfectly for formal meetings dates to impress or Christmas parties. It’s not annoying or overwhelming like the Prive; it’s more charming and likable. I’m impressed with the longevity on my skin. Projection: 6-7 hours with a decent trail. Excellent. Longevity: up to 10 hours without becoming intimate fantastic for the price and smell. Afterward I go to bed smelling like Natura. The only ones that gave me results like this were some old Jo Malone bottles. I used 4-6 sprays. Scent: maybe synthetic but not like Zara; Natura’s quality is superior. It’s not annoying and the notes are perceived as they should. Definitely worth this EDP. Let’s hope they never reformulate it.
Wow! What a delightful surprise. This Natura Elixir smells better than Carolina Herrera’s CH Men Prive; it reminds me more of the old version with the red bow tie than the current trash. Hey man what are you comparing? It beats CH Prive in quality longevity and projection. I’ve tried CH Prive several times and it never convinced me; its synthetic aura was similar to the 212 VIP bomb. Natura Elixir opens deliciously: energizing with peppercorns sparking and fleeting semi-sweet citrus. From the second second you notice the resinous and vanilla base. The party gets a flavor: the notes unfold like in high-end perfumes until a pleasant balance is reached. It’s a chingón badass) perfume for the boss for the one who commands. It’s elegant modern with a dirty touch from leather soaked in balms and benzoin. That’s where it resembles Bentley Intense: a boozy base slightly dirty leather and rough vanilla like smelling the pod with an earthy aftertaste. I liked it because it lasts 6 to 8 hours projects well for the first 4 (I use many sprays) and evolves beautifully. It has a romantic touch for a handsome man sexy with a nostalgia for violet flowers like fine lavender talc. I stand and applaud perfumer Verónica Kato. What skill with a limited budget! That reveals that designer brands could offer more quality at a lower price. They can’t pull our legs on those who know these well-crafted proposals for a third of the price of their cheap amber bombs. Finally something many men care about: women love it they even close their eyes when they smell it haha. Satisfied in bulk. Take note gentlemen.
Essencial Elixir Natura Batch 2021: Completely agree with Juantra01; those of us with previous versions can compare their performance; it’s true, this new one falls short of what it was at the beginning, lamentable that an EDT (first version) has superior performance to the EDP (current one). It seems they are cutting costs on production, making something similar but not identical. If you don’t know Essencial Elixir, get it; if you liked it and finished it, get it again too, but don’t expect notable performance like the first versions, because it doesn’t have it. As a scent: Very good. Performance: Moderate (projects almost 2 hours). Longevity: 6 hours. Recommended?: Yes and No. Cheers, community.
I hadn’t tried the previous version, so my review is for this new one. Starting with what many care about: Yes, it has an air of CH Men Privé, especially in the dry-down; they follow the same line, they’re not 100% identical, but they’re similar. Moving on to this Essencial Elixir from Natura, right away you feel a designer-quality perfume (it doesn’t have that catalog-like vibe). At the start, you feel pepper, cardamomo, and something herbal. After an hour, it turns sweet (in development, not cloying, it has the just-right sweetness, and even to my taste, it’s slightly understated). I perceive the cognac slightly, but the leather more. It’s a very masculine perfume. It’s not carefree or “playful” youthful like others; it gives off a vibe of knowing what you want, of character, and in the dry-down it becomes more seductive. That’s why it works well for ages 28-30 and up. Regarding longevity, I tested it in the middle of summer, so it would be unfair to judge it, as it’s a winter/autumn scent. In summer, it lasted 5-6 hours (I’ll update in autumn/winter). Update: Colder and rainy days have arrived, and its performance improves a bit (between 6-7 hours to a little more), which seems perfectly correct considering its price. Recommended, but not blind!
Some movies lose quality in their second season and this perfume is no exception. I have the 2017 version; I still have a quarter of a bottle left and it smells better and lasts longer than this reissue. I don’t get it: the old one was an EDT and this is an EDP yet they seem reversed. In 2017 the leather sounded more natural and settled; here it smells like freshly flayed skin almost with a trace of blood (sorry for the description) and the liquor note is barely noticeable whereas before it was more intense. I thought Natura had left some barrels of essence gathering dust but no. It seems the 2021 version tried to be what it couldn’t be: an improvement on the 2017 and ended up as a mediocre perfume. I only recommend buying it if you don’t have the 2017 because sometimes comparisons are cruel.
I bought it a month ago, tested it, went on vacation, and tested it again: surprise, the blend settled and showed it’s truly complex. The top notes are dominated by cardamomo, playing with the citrus (mandarin, grapefruit, lemon). After a few minutes, the aromatic notes come out and last quite a while. What’s really appreciable are the middle and base notes. For now, a slight leather with aromatics stands out; I perceive flowers but in the background. The base notes are dominated by vanilla, with something green (maybe vetiver), plus cognac, patchouli, and sandalwood. It’s quite persistent by smell. I don’t know how it compares to the batches reviewed before. I noticed they produce in different countries, which can cause differences. Judging by this one, Essencial Oud, Homem Verum, and Homem DOM (EDT and EDP) from this house win by a landslide in value for money. Honestly, a discovery I enjoy considerably.
Just testing it, it’s the new bottle version (with a rhombus relief). It smells very pleasant and warm, opening with spices and cardamomo that give it a spicy touch; as it settles, it sticks to the skin and feels like leather with citrus. Ideal for the office or casual outings. It doesn’t project much but has a seductive and captivating trail. As it settles, it resembles CH Privé, although that one barely lasts for me. Recommended if you can get it at a good price.
This is, at first, LEATHER, MUSK, and LIQUOR with a touch of grapefruit that disappears quickly… And at 6 hours, it’s VANILLA and musk with a touch of leather… Incredible longevity: on my skin, even after a shower, I can still smell it after 12 hours… It’s super persistent. Projection isn’t explosive (about 1.5 meters for the first hour, then soft but constant for several hours), but it leaves a recognizable trail at 2 or 3 meters for about 3 hours. It’s a very specific perfume, DEFINITELY for cold weather, winter, or autumn, at night or on very specific cold days. If you don’t like leather, it’s not for you… As for the price-to-product ratio, I think it’s spectacular!
Full leather, like a jacket. It reminds me of a decant of CH Men that I’ve had since 2012. Absolutely rich. You can feel the kick of pepper at the start, then it’s all leather with a hint of cognac. Also, I have another bottle with a nicer design and a cap similar to the Yuqawa.
I bought it blind and I must confess, I’m thrilled with the scent and performance. For me, it’s better than Essencial Oud; it’s elegant and youthful. At first, it didn’t convince me, but then I found my taste for it. Now it’s definitely in my top of the collection.
Great price-to-quality ratio. It’s a warm, spiced leather with a touch of bourbon vanilla.
Excellent perfume, one of the best from Natura. Very similar to Giesso 01 (Argentina) and CH Privé, except the citrus opening lasts a short time. Then comes that attractive smell of pepper, liquor, and leather. It’s an affordable and high-quality option if you like CH Privé; if not, look for Giesso 01, which costs less and performs just as well.
I bought one from the 2022 batch in Argentina a week ago and had a conflict with the notes declared by Natura. The 2018 Mexico catalog said Top: Apple, Cassis, Grapefruit; Middle: Violet, Leather, Lavender; Base: Patchouli, Sandalwood, Cedar, Musk. But the 2022 Argentina catalog says Top: Juniper, Thyme, Cardamom; Middle: Violet, Geranium, Lavender; Base: Patchouli, Vetiver, Moss. Olfactorily, I identify the note path of the Mexican version rather than the ones declared for Argentina. Still, it’s a very good perfume and I receive great compliments. It’s exclusive for cold or mild weather since it’s sweet; it’s not animalic at all compared to Essencial Oud-Vainilla. And yes, for me, it’s much better than CH Privé… or not as citrusy as Lancôme’s Hypnôse Homme.
Batch 2022: Total beast. Smells like a real man. It starts with an alcoholic and citrusy opening with cardamomo that evaporates in seconds, leaving pure musk and freshly tanned sheepskin. At 30-40 minutes, flowers, woods, and vanilla come out to soften the mix, though the leather and musk still dominate. The first hour is a difficult scent; the musk is potent and smells like a sheep pen. I don’t see what it’s good for.
The resemblance to CH Privé is true, but they differ. Despite having a certain alcoholic note, it’s not like the whiskey in CH, and personally, I feel it’s more spicy, with a notably sharp opening note. I didn’t like it. 5/10.
Excellent perfume; one could say it’s a dupe of CH Privé, but no, it has its own path. On my skin, the mandarin stands out along with the leather and cognac, a combination that makes me think it could work very well on summer nights. For what it’s worth, it’s an excellent purchase compared to CH Privé.
I didn’t have any perfumes with a leather note in my discreet collection until this Elixir, nor did I know the CH Man Privé. I picked it up at a super sale and almost regretted it because, after the brief citrus burst of cardamomo, something emerged that made me understand what they call ‘animalic.’ For me, it was like sweat or damp clothes, which I didn’t like at all. I insisted for a few days, and it became a acquired taste; that animalic note was the leather, and now I don’t dislike it—I love it. I think that’s what dominates perfume life, perhaps the soft notes of violet and lavender; I don’t perceive the alcohol, just very light woods. Very rich; I don’t think it’s meant to please the masses, its performance is discreet, about 6 hours but finally skin-scented. It’s great.
What a beauty—love at first sniff. A delicious, slightly alcoholic leather fragrance that triggers masculinity without being animalic or exotic. Compliments come without any issue. Good duration, though not excellent; I love it, it’s in my top 3. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 7.5/10, Projection: 7/10, Compliments: 8.6/10, Packaging: 7/10 [RECOMMENDED]. I found it for $20 because it was discontinued and they wanted to get rid of it; what luck!
A spectacular woody fragrance. Moderate trail but with great longevity, lasting up to 8 hours. It feels like a balanced blend where pepper and cardamomo stand out in a slightly citrusy matrix, with violet and leather in a woody base. Recommended; it’s one of my favorites.
I bought it blind for a good price and positive reviews. When I first tried it, I thought it was very masculine, almost animalic due to the leather and cognac; I’d never tried anything like this, and at first, it felt heavy and hard to wear. I gave it several chances, and I grew to love it. I’d use it in cold weather or at night in social settings; given its strength and scent, I don’t see it serving other purposes. The performance is excellent in longevity, projection, and trail, and for the accessible price, it’s a real gem.
I picked this up on sale. At first, I didn’t like it because I wasn’t used to this style, but over time, I fell in love with it. It’s for men, not for kids. Ideal for cold nights—the same outfit it calls for (boots, leather jacket, sweater, shirt, and tie). I already use it for studying and teaching classes. On my skin, it lasts about 6 to 7 hours; it doesn’t project much, which limits compliments, but when girls get close, it earns plenty of praise.
Confirmed: yes, it smells like CH Men Privé. Top quality for the price; that sweet, powdery leather is luxurious. It doesn’t last as long, but it’s worth it. In cold weather, it’s subtler—I imagine it’s made for heat where the molecules really open up. But as soon as you warm up, it gains depth and smells like expensive whiskey or cognac. Repeating the cliché: drunk and sexy.
Good fragrance, subtle and rich. It’s for close encounters because it doesn’t project much and has a short trail, but it’s very pleasant. Leaves hints of liquor and is sweet.
Rich, warm, enveloping fragrance, slightly sweet, ambered, and very seductive. It never fails when choosing something quickly: leather, cognac, sandalwood, and benzoin give it an interesting, rounded, and embracing body. It’s not a beast in projection, so it doesn’t bother, nor is it hyper-dense or annoying. If you like warm semi-sweet perfumes, it’s an excellent option. It falls in line with CH Man Privé and Giesso 01 (liquorish and seductive). It usually gets compliments in intimate settings or close interactions, projecting a sensual, confident, and welcoming image.
Rich fragrance, poor performance.
A flanker of CH Privé, but not the same. In my case, I loved it; very masculine, mature, and liquorish. It has many similarities with CH Privé but isn’t the same. I really like it. Like the whole Essencial line, I recommend not buying blindly. Here in Argentina, there’s the Giesso 01 which is very similar to CH Privé; I admit that this version is richer for me. Acceptable performance, not a beast, but it doesn’t leave you halfway through. Unfortunately, in Argentina it’s a Mid-Range fragrance leaning towards designer prices. 7 out of 10 points.
I gave it a whole year to see if it aged well, but it didn’t. I applied it 12 months ago, used it for a month, then used it again after another year. Longevity 6 hours on skin, up to 12 on clothes. Projection 30 minutes. Sillage 1 hour. Scent rating 8/10, it smells good. If you’re going to an open place, apply 20 sprays on clothes and skin; otherwise, it won’t disappear quickly. In an enclosed space, about 10 sprays on clothes and 2 on the neck. With lots of air, it fades. Apply under clothes. Climates: spring night, fall and winter day and night. Super cheap price, 28 dollars in Peru, sometimes as low as 25. If several of Natura’s fragrances had better projection and longevity, ugh, I’d only buy Natura.
Is it discontinued?
Rich fragrance, but it doesn’t last for me…
I like watching Natura and its discontinued clones like a rock band: Natura gained fame with covers of CH Men and CH Men Privé (this Essencial Elixir). Over time and with its own successes, Natura moved on from part of its roster, taking those reveries with it. The Elixir, discontinued for years, had a brief relaunch in 2021 that seemed like a limited edition to clear stock; the bottle I have is from that era and has acceptable performance (moderate projection and 7-hour longevity). The scent has three chords: cardamom-lavender, leather-liquor, and musk-patchouli, with the latter being what sets it apart from CH Men Privé and brings it closer to the now-extinct Hypnôse by Lancôme. That 2021 reappearance was well-received but poorly utilized: Natura made a reformulated reissue that wasn’t so fortunate, lacking the magic of before, which explains recent complaints about its performance.
Masculine fragrance, mature and with a formal cut, ideal for winter and night. Scent rating 8.3/10: leather, cognac, and vanilla take the lead. In the opening, you notice mandarin, very masculine, perfect for a leather jacket or black clothing. In the heart, it becomes more palatable for everyone, with more vanilla and a honeyed sensation, perhaps due to the sweetness of the cognac. Quality rating 8.3/10: being from the catalog, it has excellent aroma and an evolution worthy of expensive perfumes; it doesn’t smell like alcohol. Nice bottle and decent atomizer. Longevity rating 7.6/10: as an EDP, it’s what’s expected, not sublime but not disappointing, around 6 hours. Projection rating 7.5/10: noticeable for the first two hours, not a bomb but gives presence and a decent trail. Versatility rating 6.6/10: not versatile; due to the notes, it’s for winter/fall, better for night than day, can be a signature for informal moments but shines in formal occasions. Age 30+ due to seriousness and maturity. Price rating 7.3/10: it was previously discontinued in Argentina with ridiculous prices, but stock returned at a fair price, around 56k pesos or 43 dollars. Final score 7.6/10: quality fragrance at a good price, decent performance, elegant, masculine, woody, with leather and liquor. Natura proves again that it makes great perfumes.
The Natura Essencial Elixir really depends on the nose that smells it. It smells like sweet leather, but quite animalic. The top has violets, but soon that sweet, spicy animalic leather takes over. It resembles CH Men Privé in the opening, but this leather becomes more animalic than Carolina Herrera’s. If you don’t like that animalic leather, go for CH Men Privé if you can find a good price. Otherwise, this Natura gives you a great olfactory experience reminiscent of Herrera. Longevity is average, around 5 hours. Projection is moderate, neither too strong nor too weak. It smells better in the air than up close. It’s not the best in performance. If you’re looking for longevity and projection, try other fragrances from the Essencial or Homem de Natura lines. If you want leather with better performance and more richness, try Natura Homem Tato. In summary, if you’re looking for quality and aroma, go for CH Men Privé, even though its price is higher. Final note: 8/10.
Living in Argentina, if you’re looking for an alternative to the discontinued CH Men Privé, Giesso 01 is my top pick. It feels much closer to what CH Men Privé used to be, which never had beastly longevity anyway. Here, you can definitely sense the Natura DNA, so I blindly recommend this fragrance as your go-to option.
