Emporio Armani Because It's You by Giorgio Armani is a fruity floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2017, this composition was created by perfumer Anne Flipo. Its opening features a vibrant top note of raspberry, lemon, and neroli; the heart reveals the delicacy of rose; and the base settles on a warm, enveloping blend of vanilla, musk, and amberwood.

  • A marvel, perfect for autumn: sweet, fruity, and vanilla. The mix of fruit, vanilla, and that citrus touch lifts your spirits and banishes the season’s melancholy. It’s super versatile and I was pleasantly surprised by its longevity.

  • I love that it features amberwood and highlights the raspberry, similar to the classic Coach, with a hit of vanilla that fills it with sweetness. Maybe there are several with these trendy notes, but this is the one that works for me: it’s sticky, adapts to my pH like Scandal by Night, and lasts forever.

At first, it’s strong with a slightly medicinal aroma due to the raspberry and patchouli. I also sensed something like champagne or liquor that fascinates me; it reminds me of Armani Si. Then it settles into a softer trail, like Kenzo World but less sweet and potent. In the end, it stays on the skin, it’s flirty and perfect for a 30-year-old on special occasions. It doesn’t disappoint, stands out among others, but the trail is low. Ideal for sleeping in because it’s not intrusive.

A delight. I tried it today, it smells like bread, like Armani, with floral touches similar to Shock Black Opium, cozy and almost wintery, but fresh. It doesn’t resemble In Love With You or Si Passione. It’s a marvel.

  • I love the raspberry-vanilla combo and how the amberwood embraces it all. Very rich and exquisite. Although not formal, it has elegance. Sweet and warm, delicious. It’s a hit for me, even though I’m not usually a fan of sweet scents.

  • When I opened it, I thought of Versace Eros EDT; they are very similar. It starts citrusy (lemon and neroli) then moves to raspberry, nothing artificial like the celebrity version. It’s 100% fruity, with vanilla that sweetens it without being cloying and woody notes. Feminine, cheerful, and classy. Lasts about 6 hours.

  • Great perfume with excellent longevity and sillage. I don’t know anyone who doesn’t say ‘how delicious’. It’s perfect for winter or evening wear.

  • Mangoframbuesa

At first, the mango was so intense that I discarded it because it seemed very simple. But once it dried on my skin, it became exquisite and elegant, not overly sweet. It’s beautiful and now it’s one of my favorites. It taught me not to throw anything away too quickly.

  • To me, it smells like mango and I love it. It’s sweet but without that cheap vibe. It has a nice trail and many people love it when I wear it.

  • It’s great, but it sounds very youthful and linear; I’m looking for something more complex. Like everything else by Armani, it lasts only a couple of hours on skin and isn’t unique. The raspberry-vanilla blend is very common, though it smells better than the celebrity versions. Perfect for someone under 30.

  • Another fragrance with a rose scent and everything else very, very in the background. I love men’s perfumes with a rose scent because they smell like dried roses and lean more toward Middle Eastern aromas. In contrast, women’s perfumes smell like green, juicy rose that drowns out any other component. On my nose, it only smells like those little sachets of dried rose petals used for display counters. I don’t like it at all. Sorry, but that’s my opinion.

  • I don’t know if I’m crazy, but I don’t smell any raspberry at all. To me, it smells like a very refined pineapple with vanilla, roses, and a powdery touch. It’s a very rich perfume with good longevity and a well-achieved sillage. It’s a balanced and elegant scent.

They might say I’m crazy or have a bad sense of smell, but I’ve been wearing this fragrance since early today, and after several hours, it smells like My Burberry Blush to me 🥴. I don’t know why I sense it smells like that if it’s not among the fragrances I recall. I love the scent of Because It’s You, but to my nose, it smells like My Burberry Blush, and it’s like having the same perfume twice 🥲.

  • Male.gria

The opening is potent; I agree it smells like sweet mango, but I perceive it with green leaves and a sharp lemon. Then it shifts slightly and I notice the raspberry—not a sugary, girly kind, but almost mentholated and spiced. In that aspect, it reminds me of Angel Nova by Mugler. When it settles, the rose and vanilla appear, becoming more enveloping and creamy. That stage is my favorite. There’s a woody touch that adds a lot of elegance, accompanying it from the start through the dry down; I give it an extra point for that. It’s ideal for everyday wear, especially summer because it’s not a heavy sweet. I was surprised by the longevity: I applied it at 8 pm and still feel that vanilla right on my skin this afternoon. Almost 12 hours.

  • My husband loves it. Every time I wear it, he tells me how nice it smells, haha. I like it too; it’s noticeable but not overwhelming. It reminds me of fragrances from another era, like from 2010, but updated. I can’t quite put my finger on what it transports me to. Although patchouli isn’t listed in the notes, it seems to have a hint of it in the base (I think that’s what doesn’t fully convince me). But it’s a very good fragrance and not as ‘burnt’ as others. At least here in Argentina.

  • It’s a fragrance I like, but I feel it’s familiar to two perfumes I already own. Upon application, it resembles Coach Floral, and when it dries down (at least on my skin), it smells very similar to La Vie Est Belle in Rose.

  • This perfume is giving me a headache 😖. I discovered it by chance at a perfumerie; the salesperson showed it on blotter paper and I fell in love instantly—I couldn’t believe how good it smelled, finding it marvelous. I sensed a fresh, elegant mango with very soft, sweet notes. It was love at first sight, so I bought it without thinking. The next day, after just three sprays on my neck, it seemed strong at first, but over time I couldn’t handle the nausea and headache—it was one of the worst experiences! 😞 It has incredible longevity and a brutal sillage, but after five hours I had to wipe it off with wet wipes (that didn’t work, I had to take a shower xD). It made me feel terrible; it’s too strong, smelling of raspberry syrup and an intense patchouli like La Vie Est Belle that I can’t stand. I tried it again in cold weather and it was the same. I sold it. Still, it taught me a valuable lesson: NEVER buy based solely on how it smells on paper; always test it on your skin and wear it for hours to see if it’s the right one.

  • I like the scent, but unfortunately, it lasts only about half an hour on my skin, which is the first time this has happened to me 🙁 and the sillage is very poor. I feel like it was my worst purchase.

  • My dad brought a perfume from abroad that doesn’t even make it here. When I received it, I was shocked—it wasn’t what I ordered. Since I’m not a fan of vanilla scents and had a bad experience with In Love With You Freeze before, I tried it with reservations. Oh, what a gem! Sparkling lemon and raspberry evolving into rose and a subtle vanilla. All three stages are distinct, the longevity is incredible, and my boyfriend can still smell it faintly on me the next day. It’s elegant yet playful, perfect for the shoulder seasons. Highly recommended.

  • The fruity-chili note hits me too hard; I was expecting something more vanilla-forward. The longevity is decent and it improves as it dries down, but it’s just not for me—my tastes are different. By the way, the men’s version, Stronger With You Intense, smells amazing: 100% unisex with an exquisite gourmand vanilla and amber blend.

  • Lucianapoli73

The opening is raspberry but boozy; it feels like a liqueur, then the smell of raisins and chocolate appears. It’s extremely gourmand and unique. I really like it.

  • I tested it on skin, and to my nose, it smells very similar to Natura’s Luna Absoluta. I don’t dislike it, but since I already have the Natura perfume, I don’t see this Armani one as necessary.

  • FRUITY ROSES. Very lovely, ideal for a quiet day. At times it reminds me of Givenchy’s Irresistible, but much more subtle and elegant; I suppose because of the fruity rose note, here it’s raspberry instead of pear. Compared to it, this fragrance is much more delicate without losing its sweetness; it’s not a loud fruity bomb. I love the balance. The dry-down reminds me of Miss Dior. The trail isn’t extremely powerful, but I think that’s just right—it’s delicate and lowkey. It doesn’t want to be a five-meter attention-grabbing bomb; sometimes it’s nice to have subtler fragrances in your collection, and this is one of them. One thing that does stand out is that it doesn’t last long; I put it on 6 hours ago and it’s almost gone. Still, I think it’s a great fragrance for daily wear or a Sunday afternoon stroll.

  • To me, it smells like passion fruit despite raspberry being the main note. It’s very fruity and delicious. It gets tons of compliments.

  • Beautiful, but the dry-down features a lot of Amberwood. Try it on skin first. Don’t buy it right away.

  • Sharp citrus opening; you can smell the lemon, raspberry, and a hint of rose immediately. Then on the skin, vanilla and amber emerge. I love its dry-down; it lasts about 8 hours, and even after a shower, the scent lingers. I love it, but there’s one thing that stops it from being perfect: sometimes it smells like car air freshener to me and makes me nauseous, depending on how sensitive your nose is. It lasts a long time; 3-4 sprays on the body are enough for the whole day.

  • I definitely love it. It’s super feminine, sweet, fruity, sparkling, and charming. It leaves a wide trail, making sure you don’t go unnoticed. Every time I wear it, everyone asks what I’m wearing and compliments it. It’s beautiful, sweet, feminine, and sophisticated. The raspberry and rose notes are very prominent. The scent lasts for days and weeks on my clothes. I love spraying it on scarves; even after days of wear, the worn-in scent is still incredible.

  • Ideal for the winter-to-spring transition. Perfect when it’s chilly but you’re ready to move away from balsamic scents toward something fruity, sunny, and joyful. It instantly lifts my mood. Notes of raspberry, rose, and amber. I don’t see it as that similar to Mon Paris, aside from the initial red fruit burst. This one is rounder and less astringent; Mon Paris is fresher and more volatile. It’s a true all-rounder for almost anything (maybe not for very elegant weddings or parties…). Lasts about 5 to 6 hours.

  • I fell in love at first sniff. It’s not one of those ‘for everyone’ scents, and I absolutely adore that. Smelling it reminded me of Armani Si; it has the exact same vibe. I wore it in the cold and in the heat, and I’m obsessed with it in both.

  • Mayitaperfums

What can I say about this little perfume: it’s a bit citrusy with a raspberry and fresh lemon scent, ideal for hot weather. It’s elegant and subtle, very tasty. At first, it feels a bit strong, but it settles beautifully on the skin and has good longevity.

The first time I tried Armani’s Because It’s You, honestly… it didn’t do much for me. I wasn’t impressed. I’ve always loved its ‘sibling,’ In Love With You, which remains a beauty. But over time, I started to appreciate it, and recently I decided to buy it. Since then, every time I wear it, people keep asking what I’m wearing. It projects a lot without being intrusive. The opening is powerful with an instant raspberry that accompanies the entire evolution. It’s sweet and juicy but not cloying. Then it blends into a creamy vanilla that adds warmth and a musk that isn’t soapy, but rather sweet, enveloping, and soft, like a hug. What impresses me most is the projection and longevity. I wore it today at 8:30 AM, and it’s 9:30 PM, and I still smell it strong on my skin and fresh on my clothes. It projected for five or six hours and lasted all day. In short: if it doesn’t convince you at first, give it a second chance. I loved it, and now I highly recommend it.

  • Sarah Poggio

I bought it for its launch; you can smell the raspberry, but once it dries down, it smells 95% like Your The One by Bath & Body Works. It tastes good, but I was totally disappointed by the longevity: on my skin, it doesn’t last more than 3 hours and projects less than one. I wouldn’t buy it again; it’s not worth the price. I’d rather buy the B&BW body mist, which is 10 times cheaper, smells the same, and lasts longer.

  • I didn’t like it much, plus it smells like another perfume I can’t remember the name of. It’s just another one; I don’t see anything special about it to wear over others. When I used the decant a second time, I realized what it was: La Vie Est Belle en Rose. They’re practically identical on my skin. Ugh, that one overwhelmed me so much, so clearly this isn’t for me. Although I admit that after a few hours, when it fades, it leaves a nicer fruity trail.

  • I didn’t like it. On my skin, it’s too strong and smells like an older lady’s perfume. It even gave me a headache. I don’t find it as sweet, maybe only at the beginning.

  • I love it. I get juicy raspberry at first, then it shifts to a fun vanilla. It’s soft; I imagine wearing it at the beach with the wind in my face (better if someone else wears it so I’m trailing behind, hehe). Very feminine.

  • Very tasty; you can definitely smell the neroli and raspberry, sweet and elegant. However, it’s not innovative—it smells like a generic scent from that era. I wouldn’t buy it; better to test before spending, as there are many similar options. In the end, after hours, it fades and becomes prettier.
