Fresh and citrusy, though it doesn’t offer much beyond the basics. As Juancar says, nothing like the original. Not bad, though: striking, decent pickled citrus notes, well above Guerlain’s last cologne, but not quite excellent. It plays with dignity and beats other market options. As it dries down, it blends with a synthetic petitgrain-type green note, perhaps with a very soft pink pepper touch. I haven’t detected vetiver, even sniffing close to the skin. Sillage and longevity are moderate, a bit above average for this style, so it doesn’t look bad. At ‘El Arenal’ they cost around €82 for 100ml, a very high price for the quality; at half that, it would be a viable purchase if you like fresh, pickled citrus. It smells good, pleasant, and refreshing.

Fresh with a very dominant citrus opening that evolves well in the mid-notes, ending with vetiver as the main note, though lemons are still noticeable from afar. Nothing like the original Eau Sauvage. Ideal for summer and spring, and for all daytime use. It has a bit more longevity and projection than the original, but it’s not a beast.

  • It was a pleasant surprise. I perceive it as quite linear and with few nuances, but it stands out that a fresh scent can last so long; although it’s not very intense, it stays for many hours. The scent is citrusy without highlighting any specific note, with that touch of Hedione (thank goodness this time they didn’t sell it to us as a blend of jasmine from India, Egypt, and Grasse).

  • As a teenager, with my working-class background, I looked at it with unreachable respect. Today I see it differently: a high-quality, minimalist, pickled citrus fragrance that only lasts an hour and a bit. Nothing more. PS: I ADMIT THIS IS A TERRIBLELY POOR REFORMULATION.

  • As a teenager, so many years ago, I looked at it with respect as something unattainable because I was from a working-class family… Today I see it differently: a minimalist, zesty, quality citrus fragrance that lasts only an hour and a bit. Nothing more. P.S.: I ADMIT THIS IS A TERRIBLELY POOR REFORMULATION.

  • A reinterpretation of an timeless classic. Truly a masterpiece that will stand the test of time. Beautiful and simple, a perfect aroma for every occasion. Starts with sparkling and fresh citrus, quite cheerful and aromatic. It inspires a lot of energy. It brings pleasure, good for catching people’s attention. It could be a timeless, fresh, green quality cologne. This EDC is a GREAT example of what active men should wear EVERY DAY. Very suitable for more occasions in SUMMER. Overall, a perfect choice.

  • I love the Eau Sauvage Cologne; I’d love to wear it every day, but it’s pricey, so I choose special occasions. It works great for me and I’ve received good compliments. It’s very summery and long-lasting; I can smell it on my skin for more than 8 hours and on clothes even longer. It’s linear, with the same citrus opening that lasts and improves over time, incorporating the pepper that gives it a boost after two hours. It seems to carry Hedione and it thrilled the women; many approached asking about that zesty scent, which they love. For me, it’s a 10/10. The only thing I don’t like is the high price. Dior makes high-quality perfumes.

  • I never paid much attention to it because it was a flanker, but today, at the Dior stand while buying a gift for my sister-in-law (a Rouge lipstick, very pretty), I sprayed it on my wrist. And… I’m surprised, not by the scent (it’s not groundbreaking or legendary-tier) but by its longevity (superb). It’s a rich citrus with refreshing bergamot that transitions to something linear, agreeing with Uhm, smelling like soft petit grain, friendly, with a touch of spiced jasmine. It’s youthful with a touch of class. Ideal for work and leaving a friendly trail. I especially like its longevity. Demachy has a gift with ‘fresh’ fragrances (the hardest ones to do without falling into vulgarity). It’s a good fragrance, it has light and class. Its trail produces cordiality.

  • It never really caught my eye as a flanker, but today, at the Dior stand while buying a gift for my sister-in-law, I tried it on my wrist and was surprised—not by the scent (it’s neither groundbreaking nor legendary) but by its fixation (superb). It’s a rich citrus perfume with refreshing bergamot that moves into a linear fragrance, as Uhm says, smelling of soft, friendly petitgrain with a spiced jasmine touch. It’s youthful and classy. Ideal for work and leaving a friendly trail. What I like most is the fixation. Demachy has a gift with ‘fresh’ fragrances (the hardest to create without falling into vulgarity). It has light and class; its sillage produces cordiality.

  • I’m revising my review a bit; I think I was unfair back then. I’m a lover of classic citrus and bought it again on an impulse. It’s true that it doesn’t bring much innovation and it’s a familiar scent, but the citrus is done quite well—crisp, with bergamot, orange, etc., with a certain realism and very refreshing. I still don’t smell vetiver, but there’s a hint of green and light. I agree it reminds me a lot of Atelier’s Cedrat Enivrant (one of the best citruses I’ve ever smelled). It smells very similar, same style, but the Atelier one is denser, more potent, ‘heavier,’ with better-defined and more natural citrus. The Dior one is more expensive and synthetic, lacking that ‘chalky’ touch from Atelier’s sour apple. The price is still high, but there are more expensive things done worse, and we have the 200ml bottle which greatly lowers the price per ml. The longevity, wow, is spectacular for this type of fragrance. I’ve been using it for two days and it lasts over 10 hours with clarity and a noticeable trail, even with 3-4 sprays. Excellent work, I admit. It’s one of the best designer citrus fragrances with exceptional performance. Cheerful, refreshing, and highly recommended, just for citrus lovers.

  • Curiosity to try this Eau Sauvage cologne, and it didn’t disappoint, though it gave me a ‘I’ve heard this before’ moment. Ideal fragrance for spring-summer mornings, fresh with a masterful use of very natural citrus. Exceptional performance. I find it unisex. But after two hours, I started smelling like an ex-girlfriend from 20 years ago, and it got old fast. I can’t stop thinking it smells very much like Eau de Courrèges (the original from 1977). Damn, it smells like an ex!

  • Sir Akhine

A citrus marvel, for real. Very similar to Atelier’s Cedrat Enivrant, but with performance and longevity that put it on par with the best colognes. I don’t pick up much vetiver, but I do smell pink pepper. Very refreshing and high quality. Projects well for the first 2-3 hours, which is a lot for a cologne. A bit linear, so if you love zesty citrus, it’s for you; if you’re looking for fragrance variety, look elsewhere. Ideal for very hot days. A great hit by Demachy.

  • Fresh, citrusy, long-lasting, and projects well. Super natural and a bit confusing at first; you’re not sure if it smells like lemon peel, grapefruit, citrus flowers, lime, or what the hell that combo is. Result: an interesting, different, and very natural citrus aroma. The vetiver plays in the background, adding some maturity, though it doesn’t dominate here, so it works for all ages. Works great in heat or a summer night thanks to its projection. Don’t buy it blindly unless you’re a citrus fanatic or collector, because being a different kind of citrus could be off-putting.

  • Alberto Brarda

Limons and flowers, very elegant for a man. Classic style. The next day it smells perfect without needing to get right up in your face, which isn’t easy to achieve with a fresh citrus.

  • carloslainezd

A magnificent citrus fragrance, classy, elegant, classic. An exquisite aroma that some might consider old-fashioned, but it’s more modern than the Eau Sauvage EDT or ADP cologne. Excellent fragrance.

  • I love that sharp, well-executed citrus. I really highlight its longevity; it should be around 5 or 6 hours easily. For heat that isn’t extreme, it’s an excellent ally. Great herbal note in the middle. Highly recommended, and for me, this isn’t a cologne; it behaves like an EDT.

  • Today I acquired this BEAUTY in capital letters, the freshest and most perfect citrus that is also elegant, I won’t say more, it’s worth every penny and lasts a lot, gentlemen, this is a work of art with so few ingredients, at first it seems very strident but let it settle and you’ll love it, this is for a daytime wedding, white shirt, suit, and cream-colored pants.

  • I added this flanker of the classic Eau Sauvage to my collection (with some doubts) and I love it. Personally, I still stick with the classic EDT because I really like that lemon aroma, but I have to acknowledge one pro for Eau Sauvage Cologne: its longevity, where it comfortably outperforms the Eau Sauvage EDT. Incredibly, this perfume is labeled as ‘cologne’ but lasts longer than an Eau de Toilette, and even up close on my skin, it lasted up to 10 hours. Simply something inexplicable in this era of perfumes that don’t last what they should. Regarding the scent itself, you can tell it has the DNA of its 1966 father but with an intense, powdery fusion of bergamot, grapefruit, and mandarin (replacing the lemons), before turning creamy in the dry-down, similar to Dior Homme Cologne. Personally, I don’t smell any vetiver at all, even though it’s listed in the notes.

  • Angelmaius

It evokes a Sunday morning in July or August, deep summer where you’re looking for refreshing notes. A delightful citrus that requires frequent reapplication since it doesn’t last more than three hours on me, which is common for this type of aroma. Ideal for those who don’t like challenging perfumes; a safe gift since it’s hard for anyone to dislike it. For me, it gives a couple of punches to Acqua di Parma Colonia at a much lower price.

  • I decided to buy it blind: for the good reviews and because I liked Homme Cologne and classic Eau Sauvage, so I assumed they would share something. Eau Sauvage Cologne is the most citrusy thing I’ve tried. The opening is super sharp and acidic, like squeezing grapefruit or lemon peels and rubbing them on your skin. Despite being aggressive, it’s pleasant because there are subtle green/floral touches afterward that make it creamy, keeping that citrus bite at the end. The curious thing is that it lingers in the air: I wore it from morning, felt less of it at the office, sprayed two more in the afternoon, and when I returned, crossing the door felt like entering a citrus grove. A colleague asked, ‘What’s that perfume?’. It took over my workspace. Even though it seems to drop, it stays present. Everyone will smell it, especially in enclosed spaces. If you use Eau Sauvage Cologne, you’re a walking lemon. I disagree with some comments: although it’s elegant, it’s versatile. It’s not just for formal use; I tried it on friends and they loved it too. Female colleagues said ‘you smell so good’ without me being in a suit. It works well for the gym or just to feel fresh. Excellent for warm seasons, full of energy and good performance. I’ll see if I can get another bottle.

  • I decided to buy this perfume blind: 1 because of the good reviews and 2 because I liked the Homme Cologne, just like the classic Eau Sauvage, so I assumed they’d share some DNA… Eau Sauvage Cologne is the most citrusy thing I’ve tried so far. It has a super sharp opening, something acidic that smells like squeezing grapefruit or lemon peels in your hands and then rubbing them on your skin. Despite this, which can be aggressive, it’s a very pleasant fragrance to wear because after that opening, there’s a subtle green/floral touch that turns everything into a creamier blend while still keeping that citrus zing in the background until the end. Something curious I discovered that hasn’t happened with any other scent: this perfume lingers in the air. I wore it from morning, several hours had passed at the office, and I started smelling it less, so I sprayed two more in the afternoon before going out for lunch. When I returned to the office, as soon as I crossed the door, it was like walking into a citrus grove. A colleague came by to get something and asked, ‘And that perfume?’ Eau Sauvage Cologne took over my workplace. From then on, I learned it’s one of those fragrances that, no matter how much it seems to fade or how you might stop noticing it yourself, remains well-present. Everyone will smell it, I assure you, especially in a closed environment. If you wear Eau Sauvage Cologne, you’re a walking lemon (I know it doesn’t strictly have that note), but let’s keep it simple. There’s something I disagree with in the comments: while I agree it can be ‘elegant,’ I think it’s quite versatile despite that. I don’t see it as exclusively for formal use. I let some friends try it, and they loved it more than I imagined… plus, a coworker told me I ‘smell really good,’ and I wasn’t wearing a suit or a shirt on that occasion. I think it would work great at the gym or just when you want to feel fresh and upbeat. It’s excellent for warm seasons, full of energy, and has great performance. I’m already thinking about getting another bottle, even though I bought the Homme Cologne and want to start using that too. Cheers to everyone.

  • A cologne with better performance than average. It smells a bit more contemporary than the Eau Sauvage EDT. I would use it perfectly. In fact, it would be the only one from the Eau Sauvage line I’d wear. Elegant, neat, perfect for a white shirt and summer. Pure bliss.

  • Incredible performance for this ‘supposed’ cologne. Normally a cologne wouldn’t last a third of what this one does. It’s won me over with its scent and fixation, which is incredible for something so citrusy. I was leaning towards Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Dior Homme Cologne, but after a collector recommended this, I tried it and ended up leaving the store empty-handed, unsure about the other two. The next day I sprayed Sauvage again and went for a walk. Five hours later, I bought it without hesitation. A lost gem amidst the YouTube hype. Of the entire Sauvage line, this and Extreme are my favorites. If you can try it, it doesn’t disappoint.

  • Fantastic, elegant, luminous, and delicious. It has a classic touch but is also modern. A citrus marvel that oozes quality and naturalness. Perfect for spring and summer; if you like citrus colognes and vetiver, this is top-tier. It generates compliments and isn’t overused. A true masterpiece, far away from the current sweet and artificial men’s scents. Longevity and projection are spectacular: on my skin it lasts 10 hours with great projection for the first three. I give it 10/10. Recently it’s gone up quite a bit in price in Spain, but it’s worth it for the scent and longevity.

  • Incredible performance for this ‘supposed’ cologne. And I say ‘supposed’ because normally a cologne wouldn’t last a third of what this one does. I’m head over heels for its fantastic aroma and that incredible performance for such a citrus fragrance. I was eyeing Allure Homme Edition Blanche and Dior Homme Cologne, but after a recommendation from another collector, I tried this and ended up hesitating to buy the other two, so I left the perfumery with empty hands. The next day, I sprayed my Sauvage again and went for a walk. Five hours later, I returned to the store and bought this without hesitation. A lost gem amidst the YouTube hype and reviewers. Of the entire Sauvage line, this and the Extreme are definitely my favorites. If you can try it, it won’t disappoint.

  • Forzaducati

Fantastic, luminous, and delicious. It has that classic touch but feels super modern. A citrus masterpiece that smells of quality and pure nature. Perfect for spring and summer; if you love vetiver-based colognes, this is the best. It generates tons of compliments and isn’t trendy at all. A true work of art, far away from the sweet, artificial scents of current men’s colognes. The longevity and projection are spectacular. On my skin, it easily lasts 10 hours, projecting well for the first 3. I give it 10 out of 10. Recently, the price has gone up quite a bit in Spain, but it’s worth it for the scent and longevity. Cheers to all fragrance lovers.

  • The closest thing to a Tyson knockout with a lemon-gloved fist you’ll never experience. Potent, natural, and overwhelming. Very updated towards citrus/green and, above all, musk. The latter takes over, relegating the citrus and green notes to the background from the first fifteen minutes until it starts to fade, around the fifth hour. One of my favorite clean/citrus scents; I enjoy it every time I spray that wonderful bottle from this house.

  • This is the closest thing to a Tyson knockout punch with a lemon-filled glove you’ll ever experience. It’s powerful, natural, and overwhelming. It’s updated towards the citrus/green side, and above all, towards the musk. A musk that dominates, putting that citrusy and green part in the background, starting from the first fifteen minutes until it starts to fade, around the fifth hour. More or less. One of my favorite clean/citrus fragrances that I enjoy every time I press that wonderful spray that this house’s perfumes come with.

  • Villefragance

Just arrived, I need to test the performance better, but what a good citrus. Excellent; Homme Sport 2021 seems more elegant to me, while this Cologne looks more versatile; both denote the quality only Dior can offer. Very satisfied, it was a blind buy. For now, I give it a 7/10 because I need to test the performance, then I’ll edit, but on first sniff, I think it might have correct longevity, though inferior to Homme Sport which performs very well. Cheers community.

  • It’s a fragrance spectacle. An explosion of the highest quality citrus, masterfully accompanied by green aromatic notes and vetiver. It doesn’t resemble DHC, even though it plays in the same league of colognes. Eau Sauvage C is more elegant, longer-lasting, more versatile, and less fresh, yet still fresh. It’s similar to Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria Bergamot of Calabria, but that one is more volatile, whereas this has weight in the heart and base that makes it, on my skin, last 8 hours without issues. For me, the best of the 4 current Eau Sauvages, although it’s true that all are superb. A fragrance as tall as a pine tree.

  • Villefragance

The best citrus from Dior, I’d say in history, but I want to be cautious because I haven’t tried everything. Very good longevity for a cologne, 6/7 hours with moderate projection and good trail. If you like citrus, this gem can’t be missing from your collection. 11/10.

  • Bonophone

The best citrus in history (end of review). RE-EDIT: summery, long-lasting, elegant, fresh. PERFECT. When DIOR wants to, they do things like this. Aromatic quality and longevity in a citrus that smells more expensive than it costs and will never go out of style. This is concentrated luxurious summer in an EDT that performs like a parfum. 👔👕☀️🏖️🍋♾️ 10/10.

  • nneestorr

More than a citrus, it’s a medium-cut floral fragrance. The Hedione and petit grain notes are the stars; the citrus highlights at the beginning, but then they take control. It’s a well-blended fragrance where all notes play on that semi-floral base, giving it its own personality. That base is responsible for the great longevity, as you can’t get rid of it, which is very much appreciated. In short, a good perfume but not what one expects given the notes or comments. I recommend it but never blindly. Demanchy pulled off an excellent trick here, masterfully blending the top, middle, and base notes to deceive untrained noses into thinking the citrus lasts much longer.

  • I agree with @Kerpin without being harsh. I’ve tried all the Eau Sauvages, the early versions, and this Cologne smells a bit like detergent to me. I don’t understand why people vote negatively on those who offer a contrary opinion. Do we have to praise everything that gets published? This scent mixes crisp green notes with something that isn’t the usual citrus; there’s a bitter bergamot and peel, and galbanum. There’s a touch of artifice; it reminds me at times of H24 by Hermès. The notes work in unison, and the result is greener/drier than citrusy. Nothing like the original Eau De Rochas PH, which was an explosion of lemons. It’s not bad but it’s dispensable, falls short, and feels artificial. There are other Eau Sauvages ahead.

  • The name gives it away: it’s Eau Sauvage with a classic touch. The zesty citrus notes bring a lot of freshness and dial down the vintage vibe a bit. The original DNA is still there, but with a more modern look. It remains elegant, but for less mature people (not for teens). As it dries down, it keeps the citrus touch but with less intensity, getting closer to the original. I believe it’s an improved and very respectful version. Much more wearable nowadays. Calling it ‘best of summer’ is subjective; it has aromatic quality like others. It’s excellent as a signature scent, ideal for spring and summer, but performs all year round. Correct longevity and good projection.
