  • L’Occitane isn’t as big in Mexico but their products are top-notch. Eau de Cedrat radiates naturalness in both ingredients and vibe. Upon application you get a citrus burst from Corsican cedrat that’s distinct from any other citrus with a pleasant subtle sweetness. The heart features notes of nutmeg that blend beautifully with the cedar’s woody base. Their scents feel natural and artisanal; you can tell in the quality trading a bit of longevity to avoid being soaked in chemicals. It’s perfect for Spring/Summer or hot weather leaving a refreshing clean and elegant trail. Great value for young folks aged 15 to 25. Since they have a whole line with this scent you could boost the performance by using the gel deodorant and fragrance combo.

I tried it today at the boutique on my island, and the longevity is extremely low. I get that it’s an Eau de Cologne, but less than an hour, even on skin, is too short. Here it’s 28-31°C with high humidity, and these fragrances are perfect for this aggressive climate because they don’t clash with sweat and serve their purpose, but they literally disappear in about 45 minutes, not even on the skin. I rushed home to analyze the notes, but when I put my nose to my arm… nothing. The pros are the quality of the raw materials, the exquisite nature of the scents, and the wide range of associated products. The downside is the poor longevity and sillage, which forces you to layer (soap, creams, etc.), even though they sell roll-ons to reinforce it. There’s also a lack of originality and mid-range pricing. But if you like citrus, herbal, or floral fragrances for hot climates, enjoy wearing white or crisp fabrics, and want to radiate sophistication, don’t hesitate to get the full line and use the layering method. Unisex, ideal for very hot climates, home use, and for those over 30.

  • At first, it smells fresh and energetic, almost sporty, but then it mutates into something oriental with a metallic touch that reminds me of Avon’s Black Suede Leather. That note throws me off; it feels like an unexpected and unpleasant jump to a completely different fragrance family.

  • Very good, though it doesn’t project much. It smells very similar to Real Cedrat. I recommend applying body lotion before putting on the fragrance.

  • Very good though it doesn’t last long. It smells remarkably like real cedrat. I recommend applying body lotion before spraying the fragrance.

I don’t know what’s wrong with L’Occitane. First, they drop one of the freshest fragrances I’ve ever tried (Verdón), and then they release this masterpiece with a longevity that makes my stomach hurt just thinking about it. I paid 1300 MXN for something that doesn’t last an hour and had to carry the bottle around just to keep smelling it. I bought two, and they didn’t last more than four months. It’s a recurring issue at this brand: charging a premium for products that fade after two or three sprays. I love their stuff, but I won’t be buying from them again. Scent: 8/10 Longevity: 2/10.

  • Not sure if it’s that attachment to citrus-woody vintage vibes, but it reminds me of Dior’s Eau de Sauvage, just more modern.
