Tried the new one at Douglas today and the old one at Primor. I’m not an expert, but I notice the fragrance has been simplified and lost its punch. Half an hour in, the new version on my skin feels flatter with less leather, while the old one remains intact and great. I bought the old one at Primor, the one I could actually afford—luck in misfortune. Maybe I’m wrong due to lack of experience, but just in case…
Tested the new bottle at El Corte Inglés, with ‘Intense’ at the bottom. Nothing has changed. Just as I expected…
Same scent, though it feels less intense because it needs time to mature. I don’t see any changes in the Intense… People are just talking nonsense.
Intense iris and very strong leather. A bothersome smell for my taste. The leather fades over time, and it ends up similar to Dior Homme.
The Fragrantica description in English says it’s the same formula in the new bottle. Pray.
@Xulin, I think you got confused with Dior Homme Parfum. This is Dior Homme Intense and costs 110 euros for 150ml. They say the formula is the same, only the bottle changed. The 75ml format doesn’t even exist in this case.
I tried the 2025 version (with ‘Intense’ on the bottle body) and the scent is almost identical to the previous one. It still keeps that talc-heavy iris as the main note, plus ambrette musk and a woody base. The only difference is the previous one smelled a bit more like lavender than this new one. Longevity is similar, about 8 to 9 hours. The trail is noticeable; you can smell it from a meter away. Those who feared a major reformulation can relax; the difference is almost imperceptible.
How can it come out smelling like Barbie perfume and chives? Haha, don’t be so mean.
Tested the 2025 version (with ‘Intense’ on the bottle body): smells almost exactly like the previous one. Still has the dusty iris, ambrette musk, and woody base. The only difference is the old one smelled a bit more like lavender, at least the one I tested at the end of 2024. Longevity is similar, around 8-9 hours. The trail is noticeable; you can smell it from a meter away. Those who feared a major reformulation can relax; the difference is almost imperceptible.
Another Dior from the Homme family that’s been ruined. The change isn’t as bad as with the Parfum, but it lasts less and is simpler. I’ve stockpiled the old one well, and it’ll be my last purchase in this line. It was a pleasure, but that’s it. What a shame.
It’s practically the same as the previous one; if you put one on each hand, you couldn’t tell them apart. Don’t go crazy buying backups of the old one because, unlike the Parfum, it’s not worth it with this.
I have the DIH 2011 (batch July 23) and the 2025 (January 25), and they are identical. I don’t see any difference. Update: It’s surreal that there are 57 votes against it reminding the 2011 version when they are exactly the same.
The iris smells like women’s makeup and makes no sense on a man, unless you want to smell like her. Plus, the opening is brutally strong on iris. For me, it’s impossible.
A perfume not for everyone. It’s for a characterful and mature audience, I’d say, 40 years and up. The touch of iris smells like women’s makeup (lipstick, foundation, eyeshadow, etc.) and can cause rejection in many people. I recommend trying it first. Personally, I like it, but it doesn’t drive me crazy. I prefer Givenchy’s Reserve Privé, far away. It’s totally winter. The perfume quality is excellent.
While the notes have nothing to do with each other, this perfume on my skin is identical to Jean Paul Gaultier’s Ultramale.
If you buy the Dark Door Intense, you save over 100 euros; it smells just like Dior but better because it’s not as overpowering.
It’s a very floral perfume with a citrus opening and a bit of iris, but as it unfolds, the full power of the iris comes out and gives you a slightly tipsy scent, like tequila. At the base, it’s iris with very delicate cocoa. Smells quite good, nothing difficult. Maybe it’s because I’ve been around perfumes for a while, but what a beautiful aroma. It doesn’t project much, but if it’s a jewel, the scent is.
To me, it’s practically the same fragrance as the previous version, but duller: less iris, more cocoa note, and that wood base. I’m not a fan of the original versions, but they didn’t disgust me. I prefer the 2020 EDT and later ones, which don’t feel so old-man-ish. This follows that line but not much. The bad part is its mediocre performance: projects well for an hour and only reaches an arm’s length as a personal bubble. On skin, it lasts, but it’s not the same as projection. I don’t care if it lasts on skin if I can’t enjoy it. I can’t be like a dog sniffing around trying to find the scent. At this price, I expected better performance. It’s a good fragrance and I like it, I got it at a good price. Totally original, of course. The issue is its performance, bad or mediocre. This should fill a room for at least 30 minutes and then calm down to show its elegance. This is subtlety that costs a lot of money. You want to be discreet and elegant, but not like this. You save money if you don’t want to smell like anything or have to come close to you. You can’t even enjoy the aroma yourself if you have to look for it every now and then. I don’t understand why they endlessly reformulate this line. Better to create a separate version than obsessively carry the previous ones.

This is, so far, the most beautiful iris I’ve ever smelled: intense, protagonist, yet with impeccable elegance. The musk appears as a clean, enveloping caress, silky, softening the iris’s power and giving it a velvety feel. Finally, the cedar adds a refined dryness that elevates the elegant character even further. It’s not for everyday wear; I save it for special occasions, and in that realm, I feel it’s more elegant than the 2025 Parfum. A purchase I’d recommend without hesitation to anyone over 30.

Simple, soulless, doesn’t speak to me at all and evokes absolutely nothing.
Wow, wow, it seems they deleted the review I spent time on. The language was genuine, measured, concise, and objective. But since they took the trouble to delete it, here’s a direct, rough, and unfiltered version: if boredom and simplicity had a scent, it would be Dior Homme Intense 2025. It’s frankly insipid, iris with talc, and not an elegant iris, but one that smells like old, rancid makeup, forgotten in some grandma’s purse. It was my first time with the Dior Homme line, and to be honest, it’s disappointing. I tried it, I don’t own the bottle, and I still say I wouldn’t recommend it. Buying this is, simply put, throwing money away. That’s my opinion. I don’t know if they delete based on votes or some admin, but that’s not right. These spaces are for real experiences, not for censoring opinions that don’t fit. I was respectful before. If you delete again, I’ll post it again, don’t worry, it’s saved.
Finally tried it today. The opening and first half-hour don’t work in its favor: it literally smells like your mom’s makeup bag. That marked iris is hard to imagine on someone young or looking for something ‘masculine’. The dry-down is another story: it feels sweet, a perfect sweet, powdery, soft yet masculine. Sadly, after three or four hours, it’s just close to the skin. It was a complete experience, I enjoyed it, but I don’t think the price is justified.
I know nothing about old formulas or comparisons, nor did I know this new Dior Homme Intense stirred up so many passions. But today I asked a girl what perfume she was wearing because I was blown away, and she told me it was this one (the reformulated version). It left a monumental, wonderful trail, what a beautiful iris, and unisex. This has to appeal to someone. I don’t know about longevity, but it clings to the air like a barnacle. If you smell like this, you instantly make a good impression.
For those who say it’s identical to the previous version, they’re right and they’re not. I knew the 10950/A version until mid-2023; since then, the 18048 with the new bottle has arrived. Honestly, it feels weaker and lighter. The DNA is there; they didn’t mess with it like they did Dior Homme Parfum, but it lacks that punch. Maybe that makes it more accessible for someone not as familiar with iris.

It smells like lipstick, but old and stored away. I was expecting something elegant, inviting, and more masculine. I ended up with my wrist smelling like stale lipstick.

I smelled it for the first time three months ago and fell in love. Even though I tested it alongside the Parfum and ended up choosing Homme Intense, that powdery, made-up, musky iris brought me sublime childhood memories. It creates a distinguished olfactory trail for great moments. It’s versatile, but special for unique occasions. It’s not a beast in projection or longevity: about an hour and a half of light projection, then it settles close to the skin, subtle, mysterious, and dusty, especially with movement. On my skin, it lasts about six hours; after that, it’s hard to find. Even though I wish it lasted longer, I’d buy it again.
Smells like lipstick, but an old one, like it’s been stored away. I expected something elegant, inviting, and more masculine. Ended up with my wrist smelling like old lipstick.
The Dior Homme Intense 2025 brings its typical buttery, powdery iris, feeling more enveloping and carnal than other brands. Here, the opening smells less like pear than before, while the powdery iris remains the core. From the start, it smells elegant and deep, with a rich, tactile, creamy iris. It evolves clearly: the iris slowly yields to something sweeter and darker, like soft cocoa, probably with ambrette and an amber base. It’s not a cloying sweetness, but a natural integration. That transition is its greatest success: moving from refined elegance to a warm, addictive depth. It shines at elegant, well-dressed nights, but also works well as a signature scent with casual or sport wear, depending on your style. In heat, only for mild summer evenings with a few sprays, as too much heat can make it overwhelming. It’s more about trail than projection: it doesn’t invade, but it leaves a mark. Performance is excellent. Projection is brief, about two hours, then it retreats to a personal bubble until the sixth hour, when it moves to skin-level and is noticeable until the eighth. In character, it’s sensual, elegant, deep, and sweet.
This is one of those fragrances I regret not buying sooner; it’s simply marvelous. Unfortunately, I couldn’t get hold of a 2011 one, but the 2025 version is totally worth it. If you like the iris note, it’s for your collection; otherwise, there are others with less prominent iris like Velvet Iris by Essential Parfums. It’s a pity Dior reformulates everything, yet they still remain good, but the previous ones have a magic hard to find in other commercial scents. Still, it’s worth it if you want something that makes you noticed wherever you go. Performance: very good projection and heavy trail. Longevity: believe me, it lasts until the next day on skin and clothes; I guarantee it will still be there even after washing.
It’s one of those fragrances I regret not grabbing sooner; it’s simply incredible. Too bad I missed the 2011 version, but the 2025 edition is worth every penny. If you like iris, this is a must-buy; if not, try Velvet Iris by Essential Parfums. It’s a shame Dior reformulates everything, but they still smell good, even if the old ones had a certain magic you just can’t find in other commercial scents. Still, if you want to stand out wherever you go, it’s worth it. Projection and trail are excellent, and the longevity… believe me, it sticks around until the next day on skin and clothes, even after washing.
I never tried the old version, but this one leaves no one indifferent. It smells like intense iris; the opening is like a makeup bomb. Some will love it, others won’t, but it’s impossible not to notice. It’s ideal for special occasions that demand attention. In my case, everyone around me loved it.
A real disappointment. After an hour and a half, there’s only a faint scent left on the skin and nothing else. I don’t understand why people say it lasts.
Rich opening with strong projection for the first half hour, but the performance is terribly poor and almost disappointing. It smells just like JPG Le Male at the start. By 1:30 it’s skin scent, and by 3 hours it’s imperceptible. Designer houses give too little compared to the Arab perfumes I prefer, which have been dominating the market for a while. I feel like $150 down the drain.
Hey, I haven’t tried the 2007 and 2011 versions, but I just finished my batch from 2022 and replaced it with a 2025 one (batch 5J02, Sept 2025). It’s the same fragrance, identical performance and scent. The differences are minimal and undetectable—maybe due to bottle oxygenation or slight component variations, but it’s essentially the same. I’d recommend buying this if you’re a fan; there’s no point paying a premium for older versions. I don’t know if the 2007 and 2011 batches differ, but with this 2025 release, I have no complaints compared to the lots I’ve used since 2020. It’s not like Dior Homme Parfum 2025, which is actually a different perfume; here, there’s no substantial change. It’s the same polarizing scent, exquisite to me with that sublime buttery iris that still sparks controversy. There’s no new Kurkdjian hand behind it. The haters of DHI will keep getting scared off and will continue to say it smells like grandma. We need to stop the rumor that it was reformulated and doesn’t last; the only ones benefiting are resellers of old batches who hike prices without justification. The bottle and box were modernized in 2025 and don’t seem to be getting discontinued. In the 2025 bottle, Intense is listed separately below Dior Homme, whereas before they were both grouped at the top. The 2007 and 2011 versions changed the bottle shape a bit more. Cheers!
I regret not buying the previous version, though I admit this isn’t bad at all. It’s true the iris loses some prominence, but it’s still there. The longevity is still beastly—easily over 8 hours—and it makes an impact: elegant, sophisticated, seductive, and mysterious all at once. I think this is the perfume every man should have in his collection; if you own it and know how to wear it, it’s your ace in the hole. Totally worth it.
You can really tell there’s a massive drop in iris quality in this new formula. Even the last batches from 2011 were a bit weak, but at least you could tell the ingredients were good. This is blatant cost-cutting; the iris used to feel like it cost them a fortune…
