Edited. There are variants. It leans more toward a tribute to the big names: Valentino Uomo Intense, Prada L’Homme Intense, Gentleman EDP, and of course DHI. It has good longevity and moderate projection. It truly smells amazing and as an alternative, it’s incredibly well done. It’s not cheap, running between $35 and $40, but that’s not the $100+ price tag of the originals. Cheers!
Today I think it’s the best DHI clone. On the opening, you get rose and iris notes; the rose gives it that powdery touch (a good mix to copy the original opening). In the heart, which is most important, it’s practically discounted DHI: it has 85% of the original’s potency, but for the price you pay, it’s a steal ($30 from South America). At 4 hours, the drydown shifts; the Arab house version is more masculine due to a vetiver note (what stands out most is the vanilla and the powdery aspect). Would I buy DHI again? No, as long as this option exists, because it doesn’t fall behind in quality.
Just bought it. I’ve tried clones like Elegant Homme and Camaro Homme. Elegant is about 10% less similar to the original than Kayaan but has more punch; Camaro is slightly more masculine than Kayaan but copies the Dior opening better without as much wood, leaning more floral. The first hour is about 80% like the original but doesn’t reach Dior’s quality; by the second hour, it’s 95% and feels like the same perfume. The difference is aromatic quality: clones use similar ingredients, but this one wins on scent. If you have the money, buy the original because it’s stronger and lasts longer. If you want to spend half, buy this Kayaan—it’s recommended. I’m a Dior fan and it’s a great substitute, but if you want to spend less, try Elegant or Camaro; they’re not bad, they have style and are worth it.
Just got it and I need to be clear: I already own other DHI clones like Elegant Homme and Camaro Homme. At first, Elegant feels about 10% further from the original than Kayaan, though it hits harder. Camaro smells a bit more masculine than Kayaan, but this one copies Dior’s opening better without that heavy wood note; it’s more floral. In the first hour it’s 80% like the original, but lacks Dior’s quality; by the second hour, it’s 95% and feels like the same scent. The real difference is aromatic quality: clones use similar ingredients, but Kayaan smells closer to the original. If you have the money, buy the original because it’s stronger and lasts longer. If you want to spend half, grab this Kayaan, highly recommended. I’m a Dior fan and this is a great substitute, but if you want to spend even less, Elegant or Camaro aren’t bad either, they have their own style and are worth it.
Are all the listed notes on Fragrantica wrong for this DHI clone? 🫥🤷🏼♂️
First off, the notes listed here have nothing to do with reality. As soon as I smelled it, the iris hit me hard—it smelled soapy, which I didn’t like for 3-4 days until I wore it in for the New Year and absolutely loved it. It’s a unique, rare scent where you and others smell the same but it doesn’t feel generic. It draws attention, and two friends told me it smelled delicious (bonus points for compliments). It’s not very masculine, but not for women either; it’s subtle, women like it, men like it, and that’s what matters in the end. I haven’t smelled the DHI to compare, but it smells very rich.
Actually, I have the Camaro Homme Intense by Paris Corner; I don’t know why it’s not on Fragrantica. It’s a real gem, an incredible perfume.
Spectacular. I wanted it for the Dior Homme Intense (DHI) but it’s pricey, so I looked for clones and this one is identical. To my nose, it’s indistinguishable; it’s an olfactory show. I recommend it if you’re hunting for that scent. Update at 7 days: longevity isn’t eternal, around 3-4 hours. It smells great, but for the price, I don’t expect more; after 4 hours, it fades to skin scent.
The listed notes don’t quite match up. It opens with Tuscan iris, Italian orange, leather, and rose. The base is sandalwood, musk, agarwood, and cedar—a true jewel. Then it settles into a vanilla-leather-iris sweetness that isn’t real vanilla, but it’s marvelous. Haven’t tested the longevity yet.
Buy it, it’s top tier. On my skin, it lasts up to 48 hours; it’s a beast.
I don’t consider it a copy of Dior Homme Intense, but without a doubt, it is a very competent sibling sharing the same DNA as Dior Homme Intense. The iris is beautifully crafted. Is it truly not a niche fragrance or an exclusive collection from a designer house?… because it feels very elegant and well-executed. If this fragrance has good performance, it would be almost a mandatory purchase, but we’ll have to wait to test it under better conditions and over more time.
Okay. I own both. Dior Homme Intense and Kayaan Classic. They are really indistinguishable from each other. Literally the same creamy iris as DHI. With this fragrance existing, there’s no point in buying DHI. I compared these two on blotter and skin, plus His Confession, to have three from the same DNA. HC is similar to DHI, but KC is identical. Highly recommended.
In my opinion, we’re looking at the best Dior Homme Intense dupe out there. Compared side-by-side with DHI and Dark Door Intense, Kayaan Classic is a beast. Dark Door Intense has nothing on this perfume, lol, but NOTHING. The worst part? It lasted me longer than Dior Homme Intense. I agree with IndridCOOL that with this fragrance existing, there’s no point in buying DHI.
It’s the ultimate Dior Homme Intense dupe in my opinion. Compared side-by-side with DHI and Dark Door Intense, Kayaan Classic is a beast. Dark Door falls short compared to this perfume lol, but not by much. The worst part? It lasted longer than the original. I agree with IndridCOOL: there’s no point in buying DHI with this around.
Okay. I have both: Dior Homme Intense and Kayaan Classic. They are literally indistinguishable. The creamy iris in DHI is identical. If this exists, there’s no point in buying DHI. I tested these two on blotter and skin along with His Confession to compare three scents from the same DNA. His Confession resembles DHI, but Kayaan is the real deal. Highly recommended.
Its soul is iris: a leathery, vibrant, and refined iris; majestic, looking down from a certain pedestal (of which it is justifiably aware). It opens powerful and then relaxes, letting itself be accompanied by dry, elegant wood, on a blended base of patchouli, vanilla, and cocoa. It is the reincarnation of DHI through other forms, other garments, but without compromising its essence and magic. Greetings to the community.
At first glance, it’s really good.
It’s not a bad fragrance, but at first it smells chemical and repulsive to me, quite the opposite of Dark Door and even less so than Dior Homme Intense 2018. Hoping it improves with aging, will update again. Edited 07/26/2025: It’s improving with aging and getting closer to the inspiration, losing that synthetic note that gave me a bad feeling.
It’s not a bad fragrance, but there’s something chemical about it that repels me, the opposite of what I feel with Dark Door and even less with Dior Homme Intense 2018. Hopefully, it improves with maceration; I’ll update again. It’s not exactly a dupe, more like a well-executed clone of DHI. The trail is great at first, then it fades quite a bit and stays close to the skin for several hours. If you let yourself be carried away by the scent, it smells like a much more expensive perfume; I really can’t believe how good it smells for the price.
Kayaan Classic is a very balanced and refined perfume, centered mainly on the iris note, which is the absolute star of the fragrance. That iris gives an airy, powdery, creamy, clean, and elegant vibe, very similar to Dior Homme Intense (close to 90% similarity), though in this case, it’s slightly drier and more floral, with less of the chocolatey touch found in Dior. From the start, the iris dominates clearly, accompanied by a slight citrus hint of orange that adds freshness. As it evolves, you perceive a floral heart with lavender and rose notes, but the iris remains the note in control. That note is overdosed (I say that as a positive) because it creates an elegant and persistent identity. I love it. In the dry-down, the perfume gains soft woody nuances that add depth without losing its cleanliness or sophistication. Performance is very good: on my skin, it easily reaches 8 hours of longevity, with notable projection during the first 2 hours. If you like Dior Homme Intense and are looking for a more affordable alternative, Kayaan Classic is a highly recommended blind buy. It does not disappoint. Rating: 8/10.
I own both, and I have to say DHI has been and remains a pillar of my collection. The problem… price hikes have made certain perfumes prohibitively expensive, and maybe that’s another debate about them being overpriced. I don’t think that about Dior Homme Intense; it’s a masterpiece. It’s true that its latest reformulation has changed a bit compared to when I first started using it back in 2011. That original essence is what reminds me of this Kayaan, which I also think is a masterpiece, especially considering its price. The opening is very, very similar to DHI. In fact, someone who hasn’t used both might not be able to tell them apart. Personally, I can. The iris is much more intense in DHI and stays consistent; in Kayaan, as it dries down, it leans more creamy and chocolatey, with the iris fading away. Projection is very good for the first two hours in my case, and longevity is solid on skin for about 6 hours, all day on clothes. I’ll use this Kayaan more daily during the cold season and keep DHI for special occasions. Believe me, if you like DHI, this won’t disappoint.
WOW. Smells absolutely delicious and lasts forever. I used to visit a clothing store that had a very similar scent but never knew what it was, until now I’ve found it. Brutal quality for the price, top-tier longevity. A crazy dupe of one of the definitive men’s fragrances. Insanity and a total 10/10.
For the price, it’s a steal; they say it’s one of the best DHI clones. I have it, and at first I didn’t feel the sweetness; the iris is very marked. After a few days, I feel it’s a bit sweeter or smoothed out. Its DNA is iris (that women’s paint smell), which keeps it going for most of the night, from 6 to 8 hours. Projection is about 2 hours. It costs $20 in Chile, a bargain for what it offers. If you don’t want to spend a fortune on the DHI, I recommend going blind for this option.
It’s the same as Dark Door Intense, but toned down to half the intensity and performance. Even though the DHI is already weak, this costs twice as much. I can’t recommend it, I’m sorry. Someone gifted it to me and I don’t know what to do with it; it’s a very poor version of the Dark Door Intense. Scent: 10/10 (locked onto Dior Homme Intense). Longevity: 4/10 (max 4 hours). Projection: 2/10 (projects for the first hour, then sticks to the skin). Price: not cheap enough to be a clone.
It’s quite more accurate than the Dark Door and notably higher quality, although with lower performance than Maison Alhambra. Of the ones I’ve tried, this is the one that comes closest to Dior Homme Intense, both the current and old versions. Although I’ve really liked Kayaan and it seems like a steal for the price, I still say it’s far from Dior in aroma and performance, especially the new version. Is it the best alternative? Almost certainly, yes.
I’ll be direct: don’t buy Dior Homme Intense in 2026. My opinion is based on current batches and real tests in Spain. I tested the original at a well-known chain, and while they respect the aroma, the performance is non-existent. It doesn’t last or project; the opening is luminous but lasts 30 minutes, then it sticks to the skin. I tested at another store and it was identical. Since the Dior Homme line is one of my favorites, I looked for alternatives inspired by François Demachy: Dark Door Intense, Emir Frenetic Homme Intense, and Kayaan Classic. The most faithful to the scent is Dark Door, but watch out: Kayaan is a better perfume. It’s like a Dior Homme Intense with a Dior Homme Parfum base. The opening reminds me more of the Parfum version, with citrus and a light rose in the dry-down. It replaces the pear sweetness with exquisite, elegant vanilla. Although by notes it’s closer to the Parfum, in the dry-down it approaches the Intense very closely. In longevity, it lasts longer than the Dark Door, though a bit less than the Emir Frenetic. Plus, it has undeclared liquorish touches that give it depth. Conclusion: if you like Dior Homme Parfum but want something more versatile, try Kayaan. If you like both, this perfume will fall in love with you. And above all, don’t throw your money away on a current batch of Dior Homme Intense. The prices say it all: Kayaan at $24, Dark Door and Emir Frenetic at $17. It makes no sense to pay $110 for 100ml that lasts two hours, when in the dry-down the differences are imperceptible. A note: layering with these alternatives multiplies quality and power. Kayaan’s presentation is better than many commercial fragrances. The final verdict is clear: designers are pulling our legs, and thanks to Arabic perfumery, we now have high-quality alternatives for every budget. Final recommendation: 10/10. An essential gem.
I’ll just say it smells exactly like the DHI… what a bomb! Go for it blind.
You can’t get Dark Door Intense in Argentina, and this Kayaan Classic costs only $40 today. It’s not expensive and what it offers is wonderful. I have the DHI and it’s identical. I’m not going to risk a percentage like others do, but I recommend it 100% blind. It’s divine!
Impressed with this fragrance. After a month of maceration, the performance is fantastic in both longevity and projection. On my skin, it lasts between 7 and 8 hours. It’s an excellent clone of the DHI.
I tested it against the DHI I have in my collection, and they’re 99% identical. At first, it smells like orange, though a bit softer than the DHI. The dry-down is 100% identical. Kayaan lasts an hour longer, reaching 6 hours, and the trail is the same. I’m not convinced buying the original DHI, which costs five times more. Arabic perfumes are still two steps ahead of designers.
What do we have here! Tremendous perfume, but right now I need the DHI. It’s delicious, though it doesn’t project much; it stays in a personal halo, noticeable only at greeting distance. Could it be that Dior Homme has better performance? You can smell the sweet iris and the rich vanilla dry-down, lasting over 8 hours on my skin. It would be great if the forum allowed commenting on other reviews.
Kayaan Classic smells almost identical to Valentino Uomo, with that touch of mandarin, but without any new surprises. If you’re looking for something like Dior Homme Intense or Parfum, better check out M. Alhambra’s Dark Door Intense. The price of Kayaan is the only thing that makes it interesting.
