  • One of the best fresh scents I’ve ever smelled; smells great for summer. It opens with a strong but pleasant ginger, nothing synthetic. Then comes a soft curtain of iris, nothing like Dior Homme where it’s the star; here it just adds elegance. In the end, it smells like fresh green herbs, very intense but not annoying. The best part: it lasts 10 hours and I think it persists even after a shower. Great for guys and summer, but also works for a mild day thanks to its fixative quality. Elegant aroma but leaning sporty, ideal for a weekend at the bay in white clothes with a good drink. Highly recommended.

The lemon in this fragrance is one of the best I’ve tried; very natural and not intrusive, perfectly combined with refreshing ginger. Then the iris appears secondarily, much less than in the 2006 or Intense versions, without annoying or leaving that ‘lipstick’ vibe some dislike. In just the right measure, it helps it remain elegant like Dior despite being ‘Sport.’ The dry down stabilizes with cedar and green notes, though the ginger and lemon stay softened after 7 hours. It’s youthful, informal elegance, for warm seasons and daytime use. Good longevity and moderate-to-heavy trail, especially in the first few hours with the lemon and ginger.

  • My dear Dior Homme Sport, I fell in love with it as soon as I smelled it. It’s the one that has earned me the most compliments, far ahead of others like One Million Intense or Polo Blue. It was one of my first and introduced me to the world of perfumes. Maybe every man has his favorite, but for me, this is the one I’ll never run out of: it’s different, striking, long-lasting, and very versatile. Works for work or night, in cold or heat, you just need to know the right dose. Fantastic!

Lemon and ginger, smells super fresh, like a salad dressing. It’s the first Dior I actually like, I have to admit. The iris is barely noticeable (great, because I hate it!).

Just bought it! I’m obsessed with the cider scent paired with an almost imperceptible but present iris. It lasts about 7-10 hours. Although it’s a bit heavy for a perfume called ‘Sport,’ it’s one of the best versions I’ve tried. Perfect for spring, summer, and autumn if you like lotion notes. It’s the third Dior Homme that captivates me, and I highly recommend it.

  • I love how it blends citrus with ginger; it’s super casual yet elegant, perfect for the office or a stroll. I just find it a bit youthful and delicate—more suitable for those over 18 than for someone more mature.

  • Dior Homme Sport 2012 has a supremely citrus opening (although the notes don’t mention it). Since I’m not a lemon fan, I must say that for me the opening is piercing, overwhelming, aggressive, and bright, like an unmerciful sun of a scorching summer. Probably the ginger potentiates that effect. Fortunately, the evolution is supremely virtuous on my skin, which tends to sweeten perfumes. Thanks to the iris, the dry-down offers a fine, welcoming aroma, slightly sweet but always fresh and even sensual for a ‘Sport’. It’s an interesting fragrance but nothing overwhelming. I’ll have to try the 2008 version, which they say is better. Sillage and projection: moderate.

Dior Homme Sport 2012 has a supremely lemony opening (even though the notes don’t say so). Since I’m not a huge lemon fan, the opening feels sharp, overwhelming, aggressive, and bright, like a scorching summer sun. Probably the ginger amplifies that effect. Fortunately, the evolution is virtuous: on my skin, which tends to sweeten, the dry down is refined, cozy, slightly sweet but always fresh and even sensual for a sport scent. It’s interesting but nothing overwhelming. I’ll have to try the 2008 version, which they say is better. Trail and projection: moderate.

  • Wow, love and hate. At first, on the opening, I smell the ginger in a very unpleasant way; I almost hate the opening on my skin. But after an hour it becomes magical, as if it were a different perfume. The delight of Dior Sport is almost intoxicating. The lemon is perfectly perceived, subtle, nothing cloying or piercing. It’s one of the best I’ve bought, very elegant and timeless; it’s used whenever one wants. I will definitely buy it again.

  • It was one of the fragrances I was most excited to get. Upon trying it, I say that although the scent is pleasant, it doesn’t give me that fascination that other perfumes do. I perceived it this way: an intense lemon opening, followed by a light ginger. Gradually the iris appears, adding a pleasant sweetness, nothing cloying, subtle and elegant. Although it’s a ‘Sport’, I don’t feel it as ‘Sport’ and it has a very nice degree of elegance. Finally, the cedar is more intense than the green notes, leaving a perfect aroma. The sillage was moderate for about 6 hours. It’s versatile: it works for the gym, the office, or informal outings, being more suitable for the day. I insist: it’s very good, but it didn’t surprise me or drive me crazy. If I don’t find something better, I would buy it, and I recommend it.

  • My favorite lotion of this type, along with Allure Eau Extreme, Dior Homme Cologne, and Versace Pour Homme. It’s my personal scent. Since I smelled it on the bus, I fell in love; the wind carried every stage thanks to its great projection. It smells rich, sophisticated, and made me imagine driving a luxury car. I fell in love and bought it. It lasts about 6 to 7 hours; from the fourth hour it clings more to the skin and feels natural. It has good projection for the first three hours and a normal sillage. I don’t use it in intense heat because it vibrates a bit dark due to the iris (unlike Voyage). I use it in evenings or nights to go out with friends or have dinner. I get a lot of compliments, it’s uncommon where I live, and it adds originality.

  • I’ve always had a rejection for Dior, but today I was pleasantly surprised by this one. At first, it was very strong, but after an hour it lasted and is still there. I don’t see it as a ‘Sport’ fragrance, but rather as something exquisite.

  • It’s elegant and fresh, smelling of natural ingredients, nothing synthetic. The scents blend into a complex yet simple fragrance; the lemon smells natural and doesn’t bother you. It’s neither soft nor heavy, with good longevity even in the heat. It’s not a true ‘Sport’ fragrance: it starts citrusy and fresh, but soon turns into something elegant and with personality. Ideal for a sunny afternoon; when the sun goes down, it has that special touch to end the day.

  • It’s a citrus bomb; it’s called ‘Sport’ because it’s informal and versatile, but NEVER for the gym. The quality of the lemon is sublime, it seems freshly cut from the tree, and it’s completed by a refreshing ginger. In the base, the cedar is very distant and the iris, like in the whole family, is almost imperceptible. I find it elegant, adult, addictive, and of extremely high quality. It has good longevity and projection.

  • A unique and excellent perfume where the iris steps back to let an exquisite lemon shine. I love how it smells: super fresh and elegant. It wins you over at first sniff, 100% recommended. Dior perfumes are a true delight for the senses.

I bought this yesterday and so far I’m disappointed. The fragrance itself is good, elegant, and fresh, but for the price (around $165), I expected more. I tried Jaipur, Boucheron For Men, and Black XS before deciding on this Dior. They didn’t have Jaipur, the Boucheron is too formal, and the Black XS I liked but it smells like a kid. Since it’s Dior and I already have 150ml, I have to give it a chance.

The opening can be a bit harsh and might make you want to wash it off, but hang in there for a few seconds: the magic happens. It transforms into a natural, seductive freshness, like a zesty lemon with woody touches and green aromas. The base keeps that citrus character but becomes sweet, soft, and very enveloping.

  • CarlosEzequiel

The first few seconds are a bit confusing, but quickly you feel that rich natural lemon scent. As it dries down, I subtly feel the iris mixing with the lemon, giving it a sweet touch. On my skin it has significant longevity, which is rare. Although the projection only lasts 2 or 3 hours, afterwards it’s just skin scent.

  • charlitos777

Simply reaffirming what Angel 124 said; I totally agree. It’s an expense worth it, especially if you’re a collector of quality fragrances.

DHS, I love it. As Icona Pop says, it’s one of the best ‘sport’ fragrances on the market. Although it can handle sports, it’s a pity to limit it, because it’s a worthy flanker of such an elegant line as Dior Homme. Although I don’t feel the iris, it follows the line of its siblings: elegance and distinction in the informal daytime plane. I see it with a white linen shirt, in a luxury Caribbean hotel, like a successful businessman on vacation with his yacht. Relaxed luxury. A well-executed lemon, fruity more than citrus, of excellent quality, supported by the effervescent freshness of ginger. Both rest on green woods that give it an elegant touch. Dior Homme Sport lasts more than 8 hours without issue, fades without rushing, without bothering, inviting cuddles. If there’s little left in your bottle, run to get a new one, because it seems they reformulated it. The 2017 version arrived, let’s hope it doesn’t disappoint, I set the bar very high.

  • I’ve tried it several times in different seasons and I don’t find it ‘sport’. The citron and ginger project heavily after 30°C, and the iris base finishes something very formal, even stately. Maybe the sporty aspect applies in temperate regions where the ginger isn’t noticeable. I would use it for formal situations or autumn/winter, behind Terre d’Hermes or Declaration Essence. If you’re looking for something fresh this season, it’s not an option for tropical climates.

  • Rodriemiliano

The opening is an explosion of sweet lemon (actually citron) very natural, boosted with ginger. After a while, the citrus calms down and a soft touch of iris appears, sweetening it. You also feel a green base and finally a distant cedar. It’s very pleasant, ideal for the office. I disagree that it becomes overwhelming in hot climates; to me, it’s fresh and pleasant, although for those climates its Cologne sibling performs better. I admit it doesn’t fit ‘sport’; it has particular elegance. I’m sorry they reformulated it this year. It seems to be the Dior habit. They remove the iris and cedar, and I think that subtle iris gave it an essential sweetness. What a shame.

  • A work of art. I remember all the emotions I felt smelling it on the blotter and on my skin; I bought it that same day. It’s the one that has gotten me the most compliments. What a pity they reformulated it; the 2008 and 2012 versions were the best. The 2017 version is still exquisite, but the longevity isn’t the same; before it lasted until the next shower. In 2018 I tried it again and it didn’t have the same intensity. Today I admit that, although it doesn’t have that perfection, it still has incredibly delicious citrus notes. I hope they return to the original. I still want to get it again; it brought back memories and revived my romance with it.

  • Incredible creation! I wore it about three hours ago and I can smell the DNA of Dior Homme, which has much more presence in Dior Homme Intense, but here it feels more wearable and daily. According to the Bach Code, it’s from March 2015. It has an organic citrus opening, really good, that I haven’t felt since I smelled the first version of Acqua Di Gio in 1996. It’s made you stop and say ‘here are real citrus notes’; they don’t feel plastic or artificial like in Kenzo L’Eau or the new reformulations of Acqua di Gio. After a while, it sits closer to the skin, with a trail only if there’s wind. The first hour the citrus takes the lead with an energetic opening, then the iris comes in at the third hour. I tested it at 30 degrees and it holds up very well. It’s not invasive, it’s elegant, fresh, and versatile. Today, alongside Versace Pour Homme, these are the ones I like most for intense heat.

  • Excellent summer perfume. Smells citrusy, green, and woody. It’s long-lasting, and the trail is too. Great performance for an EDT. Pity they reformulated it.

  • paolobertucci

To me, it smells woody, soapy, and fresh, with a spicy touch. I can detect the wood note even from the start. Lasts 6 hours on skin and 10 on clothes. Works better during the day in moderate or warm weather; it’s not bad at night, and it has presence in cool or cold climates. Moderate projection. I don’t see it as ‘sport’; I see it as elegant and mature.

  • Louis Reginald

Subtle and elegant. Maybe it’s ‘sport’, but I’d say it’s super versatile and easy to wear. It gives you status and class thanks to that iris note: a rich, natural citrus opening paired with a sharp ginger that fades to reveal the soft iris. It’s one of my favorites; I took a while to appreciate it, but it won me over. On me, it’s very subtle, nothing intrusive, so soft it invites people to get closer to enjoy your scent.

  • This is a masterpiece. A complex citrus that doesn’t smell like millions of other fragrances and immediately brings out the spicy kick of ginger, leaving a very subtle wood in the background without losing freshness. But oh, now I can say what I’ve read about so many fragrances and in most cases attribute to distortions between reality and olfactory memories. Here, the reformulation has truly done its damage and ended this work of art, leaving it just as a great cologne like there are many; I went to buy it again and the disappointment was huge. It has lost that exuberance of nuances, nuances I can’t quite distinguish but I know were there, and now they’re gone.

  • I tried it today and the opening reminded me immediately of an L’bel perfume called I.D. that I’ve had for a long time… but it was just that aromatic citrus opening. Once it settles, the iris comes out to give it a classic and serious touch… but it’s not an iris that stands out like Prada’s… I think this iris takes away a bit from its ‘Sport’ title. Based on how it smells, it’s a perfect candidate for the ideal office perfume: it smells clean, energetic, not annoying or overbearing. You have to over-apply to get a decent performance.

This 2012 version is a gem; this fragrance was the one that sparked my desire to explore more scents, it was love at first sniff. I still remember passing by the Liverpool store and they gave me a sample in 2014; I loved it and kept smelling it at home, so much so that the next day I went to buy it. I currently have some 30ml bottles left and I take very good care of them, because the version from 2017 onwards is not the same. I use it on very special occasions, a fresh fragrance but with personality, I don’t feel it’s really sport, more semi-formal, it’s a delight. If you have the opportunity to find it somewhere, don’t think twice and buy it, you won’t regret it. P.S.: OPINION, EXPERIENCE, AND TASTE ARE VERY PERSONAL.

  • BassoProfumo

The lamentable performance of this opaque fragrance, in my opinion, obscures the magnificence of its scent. It smells serious. ‘Citrusy’ seriousness. ‘A complex citrus,’ ‘an exuberance of nuances,’ as user ‘Zappp’ brilliantly reviewed below. This perfume is, in my view, the explanation and summary of the concept ‘Elegant Sport.’ ‘Elegant sport,’ at least here in Argentina, was a parameter referring to dress code conditions for entering a place, meaning ‘neither very formal nor very informal.’ I also remember it was one of those fragrances that was appreciated with much more luxurious detail on the box/sample than when applied to skin. Without a doubt, in my judgment, the best version of DHS, since DHS 2008 and DHS 2017 seemed flatter to me. Everything reviewed above is absolute exaggeration.

  • A fragrance that transports me to the warm Sicilian summers in Italy. Citrusy, more mandarin than lemon. Poor projection and longevity, though it generates plenty of compliments. Dior elegance.

  • What an incredible heartbreak to fall in love with a perfume and never be able to have it again; Dior has broken my heart 😢.

  • Quick review: Elixir Nocturne (any time of year). Excellent longevity and sillage, projects very well. Detailed review: Opening notes are a dense citrus (not fresh), slightly ambered; the iris appears quickly. After 30 minutes, what remains is a quasi-sweet, dry scent, but not strictly formal. After 3-4 hours with magnificent longevity, the slight body heat lifts that elegant, correct woody base; the trail is contained but noticeable. By the 8-hour mark, it resists on the skin very dignifiedly (a hot shower magically revives it). From my point of view, there’s very little ‘Sport’ here. Which some might see as negative, but the truth is it’s much more complex and sophisticated (speaking of a 2013 batch). I hope it gets reissued with that original formulation. A gem for any Dior collection.

  • I haven’t found anything like it since. Reformulations that strip the soul from a perfume shouldn’t keep the same name.

  • Esteban Leonardo

The best version of Dior Homme Sport Dior has ever made. Totally elegant because of that iris, fresh and refreshing without losing the Dior class and quality. I love it. Unfortunately discontinued and reformulated; if you have the chance to get it, don’t think twice and buy it. Once again, Mr. Demachy, my respects.

  • Franco Palmisano

This was the perfume that sparked my real passion for fragrances back in 2014. Love at first sight: I was wearing a suit, it was spring in Argentina, and I’ll never forget my reaction when I smelled that effervescent citrus with ginger and a sweet touch of iris, all tied together by cedar for the base. The citrus notes were an absolute bomb; the longevity was incredible. Projection was moderate to high for the first hour and a half, then it settled but stayed on the skin, becoming creamier thanks to the iris, lasting 8 hours without any issues. For me, within the Sport line, this was the only one that mattered; it was THE CITRIC ELEGANT perfume by excellence. I hope Dior returns to its roots and launches the best Dior Homme Sport of all again.
