Azzaro Chrome Sport is a woody aquatic fragrance for men. Launched in 2010, the nose behind this composition is Michel Almairac. The top notes unfold with grapefruit, Amalfi lemon, bergamot, and bitter orange; the heart reveals ginger, aquatic notes, and grass; while the base notes settle on musk, Virginia cedar, and amber.

  • It reminds me a lot of Acqua di Bulgari, but in a lighter version. It starts with soft bitter orange and grapefruit notes that linger throughout the day. Aquatic notes and a very subtle cedar in the base round it out.

  • Sounds like Bvlgari Acqua but lighter. Starts with soft bitter orange and grapefruit that last forever, with a watery touch and very subtle cedar at the end.

The citrus opening stands out with that fresh, clean sensation. On me, it lasted about 6 to 7 hours, with moderate to soft sillage, but the very end was extremely skin-close. The dry down is too subtle for my taste. The opening does feel like ‘Sport,’ and well, for aquatic woodies, the longevity is sufficient even if it doesn’t fully satisfy me. This Azzaro is a no-guilt candidate for frequent reapplication without fear of overpowering. It’s great for summer or warm climates due to its refreshing nature, but it’s discreet, perfect for daytime, informal, youthful, and clean vibes.

Without a doubt, this is the perfect fragrance for relaxed settings, ideal for spring and summer outdoors. It also works well in the office as a clean, understated, yet pleasant scent. It reminds me of Versace Eau Fraiche, leaning more toward this than D&G Light Blue; on my skin, it evolves into a semi-bitter citrus layer without heavy fruity tones. The cedar kicks in early, adding depth and warmth. Maybe my perception is off, but as it dries down, it gives me a deja vu with Loewe Solo, though it’s probably just my imagination. It’s a beautiful citrus cloud with a lovely base of cedar and musk. It smells nothing like the original Chrome or Bulgari fragrances, as others claim. Longevity is great (over 8 hours), with moderate projection that picks up if you work out.

  • Michel Almairac’s genius rarely disappoints. The opening instantly reminded me of Mugler Cologne, meaning freshly cut grass; this lasts only a few minutes, luckily, since the Mugler wears me out. After that, it leaves a very comforting sensation of cleanliness and freshness. Very pleasant, ethereal, and cozy, perfect for spring and summer, and nothing intrusive. Many compare it to Versace Man Eau Fraiche, but not me. I can’t stand the Versace one and find it repulsive; this one is diametrically opposite to it.

  • For extreme heat, I love Azzaro Chrome Sport (a flanker of Azzaro Chrome, which I also like for its informal, fresh summer vibe). ACS is similar to Versace Eau Fraiche, but without that sour touch (which I imagine comes from the starfruit and sage in VAF) that clashes at first, smelling like stagnant water in María Luisa Park in Seville, in the shade, surrounded by ivy and creepers with morning dew. In ACS, there’s no feeling of stagnant water; I perceive it as a softer Azzaro Chrome, without the metallic note, with a touch of lush park shade and the humidity of the dew (in its father Chrome, the sun still shines and the plants are geraniums instead of creepers). It projects less than Versace Eau Fraiche, but for what it’s worth, it’s worth carrying a decant in a 5ml atomizer in your pocket and reapplying as needed.

I’m a lover of fresh and citrusy fragrances and avoid sweet, ambroxan-heavy, dark, animalic, or leather scents. I had high hopes for this flanker and the good reviews. The box looked attractive and the frosted glass bottle was very nice; I even overlooked the terrible spray and applied it enthusiastically. But everything fell apart: an extremely alcoholic opening. There are lemons, but hidden way in the background. The dry down is flat, reminding me of the old-school English cologne smell from barbershops. It smells cheap. As for performance, no need to elaborate: at most 20-30 minutes. I’ll give it more chances, but I think it will end up at the bottom of the drawer.

  • Not much of a deal, a decent sport fragrance. Smells clean, fresh, and aquatic, with acceptable longevity.

I love fresh and citrusy scents and avoid anything sweet, animalic, or leather. I was really excited about this flanker and the website looked good. I liked the frosted box and bottle until I forgot the bad spray and sprayed with gusto. Everything fell apart: very alcoholic opening, hidden lemons, flat dry-down like old barbershop cologne. Smells cheap. Performance: at most 20-30 minutes. I tried harder but I think it’s going to the bottom of the drawer.

Total disaster. There were good news but it’s not like that. Very alcoholic opening, then low-quality citrus like cleaner and barbershop cologne. The heart is imperceptible and it ends with a light cedar. Terrible longevity, at most one hour with little projection, then skin scent for another hour. I don’t understand how they compare it to Light Blue or Versace Eau Fraiche, nothing alike, it starts with poor quality.

Total disappointment. I’d heard excellent things, but it’s a different story. The opening is extremely alcoholic; once it fades, low-quality citrus notes appear, a mix of cleaner and English cologne. The heart notes are imperceptible, leaving only a faint cedar scent at the end. The longevity is awful, lasting at most an hour with low projection within a meter, then skin scent for another hour. I don’t understand how people compare it to Light Blue for women or Versace Eau Fraiche; it’s worlds apart in quality.

Fresh, addictive, and great performance. Opens very citrusy, but over time sweet notes emerge, creating a rich citrus-fruit balance. A fantastic option for summer! I prefer this Azzaro Chrome Sport over the original. If you don’t have any Azzaro, I recommend Chrome Sport and Chrome Extreme.

Fresh, addictive, and good performance. Opens very citrusy but then the sweet notes come out and create a rich citrus-fruity balance. A hit for summer. I prefer this Chrome Sport over the original. If you don’t have any Azzaro, try Chrome Sport and Chrome Extreme.

  • Almost identical to Versace Eau Fraiche, but with hints of Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue for women. Pity the performance is so lacking; the scent is pleasant but very synthetic and a bit flat. Performance is poor, lasting at most four hours. I agree it smells cheap since it is inexpensive. On the other hand, Versace lasts even into the next day and gets me tons of compliments (I own both). I love its opening and those Light Blue notes; it doesn’t smell bad, just very synthetic and slightly alcoholic, but it smells clean. Ideal for daily use on hot days.

  • Excellent, very similar to Versace Eau Fraiche but at 50% of the price. A definite summer staple. The trail is moderate, lasting 4 to 6 hours with good projection for the first two. Very affordable. Heads up: the spray nozzle is terrible.

  • Top notch: very similar to Versace Eau Fraiche but half the price. Perfect for summer. Medium trail, lasts 4-6 hours, and projects for the first two. Great price, watch out: the spray is low quality.

Bought it a while ago on Amazon at a great price, blind-buying based on the good reviews. It’s citrusy and sparkling, bursting with lemon at the start and gaining depth in the dry down. Perfect for daytime parties or casual gatherings; people will ask what you’re wearing. Not sure if they still sell it, but if you see it, grab it. Good trail and lasts about 4 hours on skin and clothes. Giving it 8/10.
