Cendres de Thé is super subtle on my skin, even though the opening is a bit aggressive with that alcohol that fades quickly. Then it releases a woody, cardamom note, followed by roses reminiscent of niche houses like Montale or Lalique, but with their own nuances. The cardamom tea is very noticeable; it’s not smoky, but dry and powdery, somewhere between black tea and tobacco. However, it has a very woody, greasy base, like tar or petroleum. My first impression was exactly that: tar or oil. My colleague smells Olfactive Woody Mood in it, but on my skin, it takes a different path. In short, it’s very faint on me, and if you compare it to Montale, it’s like a diluted version, but not across the entire catalog.
