The opening is refreshing and very sporty, with ginger and grapefruit standing out. I felt the grass note softly, but didn’t identify the wheat. In the dry down, I noticed a salty impression like seawater, though I didn’t sense the juniper berries. The finish is long, musky with soft cedar. It’s truly sporty, ideal for sweating, unlike others that maintain elegance. This is what it’s supposed to be. It has moderate projection like other Burberrys and longevity over 10 hours on skin. If you’re not working out, it’s good for summer, informal, not intrusive, gives a clean impression, for daytime and relaxed activities away from much pollution, since it doesn’t have dense notes to counteract that.

  • This and the Bvulgari one… are the best and most natural ginger scents I’ve ever smelled in a perfume… I love both. But I think this one has better projection.

A certainly refreshing opening and very sporty, with ginger and grapefruit standing out. I felt the grass notes softly, but didn’t identify the wheat. In the dry down, I sensed a salty note like seawater, though I didn’t detect the juniper berries. The finish is long, musky with soft cedar. This fragrance is truly sporty, perfect for sweating in; unlike others that maintain elegant nuances, this is what ‘sport’ is supposed to be. Moderate projection like other Burberrys I’ve tried, with longevity over 10 hours on skin. If you’re not working out, it’s great for summer, informal, not intrusive, gives a clean impression, perfect for daytime and relaxed activities away from heavy pollution, since it lacks dense notes that would counteract that.

  • This is the second time I’ve worn it and I really like it. That distinct ginger note mixed with the grapefruit citrus makes it so delicious. At first, I didn’t think it had good longevity because it seemed to fade quickly… but once I went outside and started sweating, wow! The scent started to bloom, and despite the smoke and fresh air, I could still pick up its aroma, noticing the aquatic notes; that’s when I understood why they call it ‘sport.’ You don’t even need to work out to wear it. I used it for a night out and another time for a walk on a nice summer or autumn day. The bottle is simple and ordinary, but the scent is rich. It makes me feel fresh, and even when I sweat, I smell clean and attractive. For me, an 8/10.

  • This is the second time I’m using it and I love it. That strong touch of ginger with the grapefruit citrus makes it delicious. At first I thought it wouldn’t last, it faded fast, but once I went out and started sweating, wow! The scent released and, despite the smoke and air, I noticed it well, I felt the aquatic notes and understood why they call it sport. You don’t need to exercise to wear it; I tried it at a club and another time walking down the street on a summer or autumn day. The bottle is normal and simple, but the aroma is rich. It makes me feel fresh and, even when I sweat, I smell clean and attractive. For me, it’s an 8/10.

That’s why I thought of the L’Homme/La Nuit family by YSL when I first tried it, although it was just an initial impression, maybe due to how it hits the nose. I agree with CokeChile: this is one of the best ginger scents you can enjoy in a fragrance. It’s going straight to my priority list.

For some reason, when I tried it, I thought of the L’Homme/La Nuit family by Yves Saint Laurent (it was just a first impression, maybe due to how it hits the nose, I don’t know). I agree with CokeChile: this fragrance is one of the best ginger scents you can enjoy in perfumes. It’s going straight to my priority list.

What an amazing scent, perfect for the heat. The ginger and citrus notes really stand out in this EDT; it’s youthful and fun. It lasts about 8 hours or more on me, though I know it depends on the skin; some people say it only lasted 30 minutes for them. The most important thing is that you like the smell, then you’ll see if it projects. I was about to skip it because of the negative reviews about longevity, but I caved in for the 30ml bottle and ended up loving it. Definitely for this summer. P.S.: Don’t focus too much on the longevity critics, just get to know it. Cheers.

What a rich aroma; this fragrance is perfect for hot days. The ginger and citrus notes are what stand out most in this EDT. It’s youthful, fun, and long-lasting. On me, it stays easily for about 8 hours or a bit more. I think longevity doesn’t depend on the fragrance but on each person’s skin; I’ve read people who say it doesn’t last more than 30 minutes for them. I think the main thing when choosing a fragrance is that you like its smell; afterwards you’ll know if it lasts long or short, if it projects or not. I was about to not buy it due to negative comments about its performance, but in the end, I caved in for the 30ml presentation and ended up super happy. Definitely it will be in my rotation for this summer. P.S.: A tip, don’t take reviews that focus on criticizing the longevity/projection of any fragrance too seriously, whether good or bad. This one lasted 8+ hours for me just like another one that lasted less. Better focus on getting to know it… cheers.

  • Burberry Sport is a fresh, citrusy, and woody fragrance. It’s very pleasant upon application: you discover the ginger and some bitter citrus notes, moving through an herbal phase to a woody-ambery finish thanks to cedar, amber, and musk. The fragrance is fresh, feels versatile for any season and occasion, though perhaps its best moment is casual use; even though it’s sport, I see it more for casual wear, maybe for fresh afternoons, not too cold. There are many fragrances in this style and it’s hard to say which is the best, for example Zegna Z, some Acqua di Gio, Ungaro for Men, etc. However, in favor of Burberry Sport, I’d say it held up very well in longevity, with performance of over 10 hours. And the bottle design is very original: it looks like the cap is the short plastic part, but it’s the opposite, as the cap covers the entire container.

  • Absolutely, Beto Ruiz. The similarity is huge, especially with the original DH Sport, which was more citrusy and less powdery than the 2012 version (the current one). It also has vibes of Armani Code Sport. Honestly, I’ve had it for a long time and remember its scent (in my country, Argentina); it’s discontinued. I recall its sweet citrus potential, backed by ginger and some amber that made it rounder and more elegant. I agree it’s a cheaper alternative to Dior with good quality, plus it feels more youthful, informal, and versatile. The bottle was uncomfortable to spray, but that’s a minor detail. Great projection and longevity. Highly recommended.

  • Absolutely, Beto Ruiz… The similarity is huge, especially with the first D H S which was more citrusy and less powdery than the 2012 version (the current one). Also, to a lesser extent, it has vibes of Armani C S. Sincerely, I’ve had this for a long time and remember its scent (in my country, Argentina), it’s discontinued. I tried it again and, with more attention, realized that, as many comment, it has many similarities with Dior Homme Sport. That citrus-herb-ginger combination with an amber-woody base is in the same style as Dior’s. I’m not saying it’s identical, but it resembles it quite a bit; maybe Dior’s is a bit more powdery and Burberry’s more citrusy. The big difference is the price. I think I’ve found a cheaper alternative to Dior Homme Sport.

If it had better performance (sillage and longevity), it would be one of my favorites. The scent is very natural, exquisite, fresh yet cozy; it makes me feel comfortable and happy. But the enjoyment is only up close. Maybe that was Burberry’s intention: creating a perfume to wear with your partner or at home, smelling soft and subtle without bothering the cat.

  • Burberry’s weak point is performance: quite mediocre, it lasts nothing even with heavy application. I wouldn’t recommend it even on sale; honestly, you’d be wasting your money. The black sheep of the house.

  • La Nariz Simple

SCENT: EXCELLENT. PROJECTILE: POOR. LONGEVITY: POOR. QUALITY: EXCELLENT. BLIND BUY: YES, BUT… 7/10. Smells delicious, but its performance is another story. If you buy it, it’s a compliment machine as long as you spray generously and accept it won’t last long. But it’s worth trying.

  • Francisco_Manuel

I love its top notes. It’s a very pleasant and unique fragrance, perhaps thanks to the ginger. I think the longevity could be better, but it’s still among my favorites.

  • Bought it to test the notes. Didn’t notice it for the first week; it was very subtle, so I set it aside. Then I picked it up again for the gym, and yes, the ginger and citrus really stand out. It’s wonderful, one of my favorites for any occasion. The only downside is it’s no longer sold here, probably discontinued, but I take great care of it.

Warm and spicy, yet it’s the freshest thing out there: smells like citrus mixed with a beach cocktail. Very similar to A Vista Humor. One of my favorite perfumes.
