What can I say about this fragrance? Honestly, not much more than describing its notes: it’s a linear olfactory experience from start to finish, with a pure aroma of freshly cut lemon, 100% citrus, and very natural. But of course, nothing is perfect, and it has its downsides: longevity and projection. From the start, the projection was very poor, almost stuck to the skin, too low, and after an hour it simply vanished. The only good thing is that scent; it feels so natural you could mistake it for the real thing. If someone were blindfolded and asked to smell the fragrance versus a freshly cut lemon, they’d barely be able to tell which was which. Aside from that, everything else is terrible: longevity was scarce and projection was nonexistent. In my opinion, that naturalness has a certain rusticity, as it’s nothing more than a simple lemon scent. Maybe if it had evolution and you could detect notes like vetiver, violet leaves, or others, it might feel like a complete fragrance, but I perceive it as just a lemon scent and nothing more. It’s a pity to see new ‘niche’ houses emerging, trying to offer different and appealing proposals with supposed quality and originality, when in reality they bring nothing truly new or good. I’d never pay the $135 they ask; it’s a rip-off. The most convenient option is to rub a lemon against your skin: it’s much cheaper and has far better projection and longevity than this. As for the vetiver one, forget it; it’s not much different in performance, but I’ll leave that for another review on its page.
What can I say about this perfume? Basically, it’s a straight line until the end: it smells like freshly cut lemon, 100% citrus, and super natural. But it has a major flaw: longevity and projection are terrible. From the start, it’s almost stuck to the skin, and by the hour it had already disappeared. The only good thing is that real smell; with your eyes closed, you wouldn’t know if it’s the perfume or a real lemon. Aside from that, everything is bad; longevity is scarce and projection is zero. To me, it seems a bit rustic, just a lemon scent without any evolution. It’s a shame that new ‘niche’ houses come out promising quality and originality without having anything new or good. I’d never pay the $135; it’s a rip-off. The best thing is to rub a real lemon against your skin: it’s cheaper and lasts longer. By the way, the vetiver one isn’t much different in performance, but I’ll leave that for another review.
Commodity Bergamot smells cleaner than juicy: citrus, freshly laundered clothes, and a light touch of vetiver and patchouli. It’s fresh, easy to wear, and super versatile; it goes with shorts during the day and holds up against a suit at night. It’s already my signature scent for outdoor activities on hot days. Would I buy it again when I run out? I don’t know, probably not, since I still have a quarter of the bottle left.
