Amethyst by Lalique

I bought it after wanting it for a long time; it smells like red fruit shampoo, doesn’t evolve much, and has a very marked green note. I like it, it lasts quite a while, but it’s not for everyday wear because it can be overpowering.

I bought this perfume in autumn and winter and it didn’t convince me… but now that it’s hot, it smells like a clean, fresh soap. I love it; I feel clean even in the heat. Ahhh, definitely every perfume has its season.

I was looking for complex blackberries, nothing like those artificial sorbets from single-serve packs. I loved the discontinued Yves Rocher for that acidic and fresh touch, not cloying. I bought Amethyst Lalique blind, and although it doesn’t smell like blackberries as I expected, it’s a pleasant surprise: notes of cranberries, flowers, and clean moss. If you’re tired of smelling like everyone else, it’s a great option.

I saw it in a YouTube video and liked the research I did. I don’t like smelling like the crowd. I bought it blind and loved it so much that I already have a second bottle. It smells like a temperate forest with mist, pines, and wild blackberries with dew; it’s dark, mysterious, and elegant, almost gothic. It’s acidic, not sweet, like forest fairies. It lacks projection and longevity, seems more like a body mist.

I love it, along with Pearls, they’re essential in my vanity. This perfume lasts for months on clothes, even after washing. On my skin it has incredible longevity, it’s wonderful.

Definitely need to test it before buying. I smell red fruits and a soft background like a red fruit shampoo, but my mom and brother detect an intense note of pepper and woods. It varies a lot depending on whose nose you ask 😅.

It’s acidic; personally, I don’t like it at all. At least it’s less acidic than Zara’s Fashionably London. It’s a tricky scent, not recommended as a gift. At first, it smells like peppermint, then the acidity lingers for an hour, and afterwards, it’s just a skin scent. I bought it for 19€ for 100ml, but if I had paid the regular price, I would have been very upset. If you have cats, don’t recommend it because they can’t stop sneezing when they get close; they find it addictive. I was very disappointed by the good reviews. Edit: After three weeks of using it, it has changed a bit now. It lasts longer, has more sillage, smells less acidic, and floral notes like pink rose are noticeable. The opening is still peppermint with fruits. Now I like it more.

Bought blind… I feel it smells artificial and has nothing special. Dry, like rose with a touch of fresh mint. I like it, but I don’t love it; I’m going to hate it because to me, it smells cheap. Seems like a berry soap or conditioner, which isn’t bad, but nothing you’d want to wear on your skin all day. Plus, it doesn’t last long either. I wouldn’t buy it again.

It has a very natural berry opening with a touch of greenery that lasts a few seconds, then moves to a soft pepper and a flower that in my nose is a delicate rose. The longevity and sillage are moderate, but they develop better on summer nights. I really like the scent and it’s in my top 10.

Something very weird happened with this perfume. It was a blind buy because I couldn’t find a perfumer carrying it. When I got it, I couldn’t stand the aroma, like those violet candies my grandma always carried in her bag and which I hated! The smell was exactly the same. I put the perfume in a closet and forgot about it. Today I thought maybe it would be a good idea to sell or swap it. So after taking some photos, I decided to take the risk and spray it on my wrist, even though I later had to rush to wash it off. I don’t understand what happened. The perfume has mutated! Now it’s an amazing bathroom soap scent; I perceive a slightly woody rose accompanied by nuts. A wonder. I can’t stop smelling it.

An exquisite fruity scent, not cloying at all, with a fresh touch. All the berries (except strawberry) are noticeable from the start, followed minutes later by a very elegant and feminine rose and ylang-ylang. I don’t detect peony, vanilla, or woods, just a very wearable musk. Projection is moderate to high for 3-4 hours depending on sprays, and longevity exceeds 8 hours, which is great for the price.

Bought it as a substitute for Marly’s Meliora because it’s no longer available here, and I must say it’s 98% identical. The opening is super citrusy and sharp, which scared me a bit, but once it dries, it’s wonderfully delicious, just like Meliora, exquisite. I loved it. It lasts about 5 hours (Meliora lasted me 8 to 10), with moderate to low sillage, so it’s not intrusive and perfect for the office or enclosed spaces; it won’t bother anyone. It’s a super good alternative in price and quality, definitely staying in my collection.

Perfect for heat, sparkling and refreshing; the vanilla doesn’t sweeten but softens the acidity of the red fruits.

I tried it because of a YouTube review and liked it. It’s very unique, pleasant, and has incredible longevity. Smells like juicy, fresh blackberries, wild fruits with dew. Ylang-ylang and rose add elegance to prevent it from being too fruity. Vanilla sweetens discreetly. It conveys cleanliness, is dry, fresh, and suitable for any day. It’s not very intense or heavy on sillage, but that’s its charm: it seems to come from the skin. It’s different from what I usually wear and surprised me.

It didn’t work for me, even though it’s a good niche perfume. You need to know your style before buying blind; that was my mistake. I’m not into fruity scents. I do highlight that I love Lalique perfumes for their exquisiteness. It’s original, different, and mysterious, but I repeat: not for blind buys.
