Alien Fusion by Mugler

Out of the entire Alien range, this is my absolute favorite 😍 (what a shame it’s discontinued 💔). At first, the intense, super-spiced opening caught me off guard and made me hesitate, but over time I discovered its true magic. The dry down is perfect: a balance between spice, florals, and that sweet touch of amber and vanilla. It’s warm and elegant, my Christmas star perfume 🎄. The performance is unbeatable: it lasts through dinner after dinner, and by the end of the night, your skin still projects Alien Fusion. Now I’m desperately searching for an equivalent because it’s the one that lasts and projects best on my skin.

I think this flanker is how the original Alien should have been. Don’t get me wrong, I consider the original a powerhouse, but Alien Fusion is rounded and has nuances the original lacked. It’s its modernized version. Now, on my skin, it creates a note like a box of Faber-Castell pencils, which drives me crazy, although others might not be thrilled by it. After Flora Futura, I think this is the best one I’ve tried.

Alien Fusion is definitely my favorite after testing it extensively in perfumeries. It resembles the original quite a bit, so if you already own one, you probably don’t need the other. On my skin, it’s a similar version but spicier and less dense. Especially in the opening, you notice that spicy touch with ginger and a lovely cinnamon that doesn’t feel wintery to me. The floral part starts with fresh orange blossom and then moves to the creaminess of neroli (without that typical waxy smell) and the classic Alien jasmine (yes, even though it’s not listed, they share the same DNA). As it dries, the sparkling aspect fades, becoming sweeter, vanilla-like, and ambered. I see it as more feminine. It’s more versatile than the original since it’s less potent and invasive. Alien EDP is my fall/winter choice, while Alien Fusion would be perfect for spring or summer nights. Projects moderately/high for 2-3 hours before gradually fading. Total longevity of 6 to 8 hours. I love it. Soon I’ll get a bottle before it runs out.

Alien Fusion opens with a fresh, very sweet note of ginger and orange blossom, which quickly becomes warmer thanks to the cinnamon and amber. The dry down has the classic sexy, indolic DNA of Alien, though it sidelines the sensuality to be more youthful and playful, probably due to that sparkling point of ginger and the sweetness of the cinnamon making it sweeter and spicier rather than woody and narcotic. Projects strongly for the first two hours, then slowly fades without stopping until I go to sleep. As an Alien lover, I’ve really enjoyed it, almost as much as my favorite, the Alien EdT. Fusion is more feminine and modern than the EdP, and more usable. It makes me think of a millennial version of the 90s cinnamon bombs (like Givenchy Organza Indecence), which I love so much. I see it for cool to cold weather, winter, fall, and spring nights. I wouldn’t use it for very serious occasions, but it works for daily, formal, or special events. Given my partner’s reaction, I’ll personally save it for second place 😉 Pleasant: 8/10 Interesting: 5/10 Versatile: 7/10 Original: 5/10

HOW BEAUTIFUL! I love traditional Alien, and this gem keeps its DNA despite not listing jasmine. It has a spicier and more spicy opening (due to ginger and cinnamon) and a slightly sweeter dry down thanks to the vanilla and amber. The neroli isn’t as noticeable, felt at the base, but the combination is simply magnificent. What a pity it’s a limited edition; it left me speechless with its exquisite aroma. A perfect flanker. Moderate longevity and sillage.

Love at first sniff. Keeps the Alien DNA but with a sparkling twist from the ginger that on my skin makes it sweet and fruity with an amber touch. I don’t detect cinnamon or vanilla; I perceive white florals, especially radiant neroli, orange blossom, and a fruity note at the base. Longevity over 6 hours, moderate sillage. I wish it projected more because the scent is refreshing, sexy, and feminine, ideal for spring and summer. It’s the first Alien flanker that has made me fall in love and purchase. Completely recommended, it’s delicious.

Alien Fusion kicks off fresh and sparkling, reminiscent of Hermès Twilly, before unleashing its own personality. It’s warmer, spicier, and softer than the original, with the jasmine shifting to neroli. Projects strongly for the first two hours before becoming a bit more reserved, though it lasts 6-8 hours on skin and a bit longer on clothes, although not quite as long as we’re used to from Mugler. If the original is pure sex appeal, Fusion is the more elegant, sensual, and cheerful sister. A total hit for me.

It carries the Alien DNA, but that cinnamon and ginger make it more interesting than its predecessor. The vanilla is deep in the background, providing a subtle sweetness that rounds everything out. It’s floral and slightly warm, with much more dimension than the regular Alien. I see it as ideal for summer nights or autumn days. I love it, even more than the original; it’s a very beautiful perfume. It’s a pity that on my skin it lasts at most 2 hours…

Tried it today and I love it. It has the classic Alien scent in the background, highlighting the fusion of amber and orange blossom. It’s very ambered, sweet, with orange blossom and a light touch of resin or incense. It reminds me a lot of JPG Classique Essence; they share notes. The bottle is a masterpiece with that loud blood orange color.

I absolutely loved it, even though as a Mugler fan, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t hesitate to criticize it, just like with Flora Futura. It has the Alien DNA; that characteristic jasmine is there. It’s more floral, with cinnamon and vanilla; these notes make it more versatile and subtle, it doesn’t hit you hard at first. It’s cheerful, luminous, wrapping you in a halo of positivity. It’s what I’m looking for to get the urge to live. Would I buy it? I don’t know, it reminds me too much of the original, I need a comparative test.

They gave me samples and I tried them. A bummer, because it’s 1:40 PM and it smells like the original Alien (which gives me nausea and a urge to run) mixed with Twilly. Ambered jasmines and gingerized neroli. It has a raspberry vibe in the opening. It’s a Mugler through and through; it seems potent. Cheerful, fun… quality impression. The slightly sweet-bitter touch of the cinnamon is noticeable.
