Descripción
212 Men MTV by Carolina Herrera is an aromatic woody fragrance for men. Launched in 2024, this creation features an olfactory pyramid that begins with an explosion of Sichuan pepper and cardamomo. The heart of the composition reveals the elegance of elemi and gardenia, while the base settles on a warm foundation of tobacco and woody notes.

The opening is identical to the original 212, but Sichuan pepper is noticeable right from the start. It then evolves into gardenia and elemi; it’s a rich, well-crafted scent. After half an hour, very light woods emerge. While it keeps the vibe of its predecessor, those notes give it a masculine air that surprised me. It’s excellent for daily wear. If you like the original, you’ll love this with its wood changes, rich tobacco, and Sichuan pepper (which smells more citrusy than regular pepper), plus the elemi that adds freshness and masculinity. No flaws here—I bought it blind and absolutely loved it. Good performance. I won’t give a rating or longevity score out of respect, as it depends on each person’s skin. I wouldn’t wear it in intense heat; I prefer it in mild or cold weather.
This option is much better suited for fall and winter, thanks to the tobacco and pepper notes.
The original 212 is the fragrance that has earned me the most compliments as my signature scent. That metallic, bitter vibe fits my personality perfectly. I bought this version because people claimed it was the ‘improved 212,’ haha… nothing like it! Maybe the opening reminds you of the original, but once it dries down, it’s completely different: super fruity and woody, less potent, less serious, more youthful and party-ready (which is its intention). It is an update, but for me, it doesn’t improve anything. Not worth the investment, and the performance leaves a lot to be desired. Rating: 5.7, Projection: 6.4, Longevity: 4.3. Final score: 5/10.
Smells just like the classic 212 EDT but with a darker twist that makes it feel richer. I still prefer the original; while it’s not my absolute favorite, I really like it. The scents are fresh and slightly sweet, and this version is a bit darker without deviating too much from its DNA. If you already own the classic, it might seem redundant, but it’s definitely worth trying.
