212 Men Aqua is the latest version among the many flankers of the classic 212 by CH. This new version retains much of the original’s DNA but adapts it to modern times. From the first minutes, it’s noticeable that it’s less herbal and more citrusy and aquatic than the original version. The notes that gave the classic 212 its freshly cut grass sensation are still there, but more subdued, playing a secondary role. In its final phase, it feels a bit sweeter, with a soft woody and musky aroma. While I don’t consider it a must-have, I think it’s a good summer version, especially for fans of the original 212, as they’ll find a contemporary 212 without losing its identity. The bottle maintains the style and the magnetic cap, now in white. On my skin, it lasted about 8 hours and maintained its presence.
212 Men Aqua is the latest evolution of the classic 212 by CH. It keeps the original DNA but adapts it for today: less herbal, more citrus and aquatic. The freshly cut grass note from the classic is still there but subtler, now secondary. In the dry down, you get a sweetness with soft wood and musk. It’s not essential, but it’s perfect for summer, especially for original fans looking for a contemporary version without losing its identity. The bottle maintains the style and the magnetic cap is now white. On my skin, it lasted about 8 hours and held its presence.
I tried it yesterday, and it reminded me way too much of Light Blue pour Homme.

A fragrance where citrus leads the opening before transitioning to an aquatic phase. It’s good, refreshing for daytime and summer, very sporty. The only flaw is that, like most fragrances in this category, they don’t tend to last long on the skin.

It’s the same as the classic 212 with the difference that the Aqua version has seawater, ambroxan, and citrus, but it’s weak in longevity and projection. It smells more synthetic than the classic 212. If you can get it for $40, it’s worth it; I don’t think it’s worth more than $50. Only for heat and daytime; I expected much more. I give it a 6.8.
It’s basically the same as the classic 212, except the Aqua version adds seawater, ambroxan, and citrus, but it’s weak on longevity and projection. It smells more synthetic than the classic 212. If you can grab it for $40, it’s worth it; anything over $50, I don’t think so. It’s only for hot days, and I expected much more. I’d give it a 6.8.
Very good and fresh scent, reminded me a lot of Light Blue pour Homme. The resemblance to the classic 212 is minimal; the green notes and that grassy smell from the original are almost non-existent here, with aquatic and citrus taking the lead. The opening is very citrusy and pleasant, and as it dries down, the ambroxan becomes noticeable—not as strong as in Sauvage but definitely present. I wouldn’t recommend it because, although it smells good, it’s very weak, almost skin-scent only, with no longevity or sillage. Even with over-application (8 to 10 sprays), it doesn’t project. On my skin, it doesn’t last more than 3 hours and disappears after. I own perfumes from the Cuba house that cost 10 times less and last longer with better projection. It was a blind buy; unfortunately, I couldn’t verify even the minimum longevity and projection. I give it 5 out of 10 just for the scent. Very disappointed; I expected better longevity and projection from Carolina Herrera.
Very good and fresh aroma; it reminded me a lot of Light Blue pour Homme. As for the resemblance to the classic 212, it’s very slight; the green notes and that freshly cut grass smell of the original are almost non-existent here, feeling much more aquatic and citrusy. The opening is very citrusy and pleasant, but as it dries, the ambroxan becomes very prominent—not as strong as in Sauvage, but noticeable. I don’t recommend it because, although the aroma is very good, it’s very faint, almost skin-level, with no longevity and practically zero trail. Even if I over-applied (8 to 10 sprays), it didn’t project. On my skin, it didn’t last more than 3 hours and disappeared after. I own several perfumes from the Cuban house that cost 10 times less and last longer with better projection. Unfortunately, this was a blind buy. I give it a 5 out of 10 solely for the aroma. Very disappointed; I had high expectations since Carolina Herrera usually has good longevity and projection.
Honestly, a mediocre perfume. Medium-to-low longevity (not Morillas’ best), with a fresh/metallic scent. I found the projection lacking; it just sits there without the power or the desire to go further. It finished third in a race, never making it to fourth or fifth place.
Honestly, a mediocre perfume. Average-to-low longevity (not Morillas’ best), fresh/metallic aroma. I found the projection to be deficient; this perfume just sits there, lacking that power and drive to go further. In a race, it finished third and didn’t make it to fourth or fifth place.
Beautiful fragrance, ideal for a relaxed weekend, for applying after a shower, or enjoying outdoors. It smells great but doesn’t perform much better than a discounted cologne. My husband uses aerosol deodorants that have better fixation, evolution, and trail than this 212 Men Aqua. Fresh and deliberately aquatic, its scent could transport you to a slightly sunny spring-summer day near the water, but it falls short; it leaves you stranded halfway through that daydream. Surprisingly, the bottle quality is high, considering the weak performance of the contents (a beautiful metal bottle with a strong magnet in the cap). For price-to-quality, it’s definitely not worth repurchasing.
I bought this for my dad, and regarding longevity, it’s not bad, more like average. The projection on him is also average, though it fades quickly over time. The opening is rich, but I’m not sure if it’s the ambroxan or a base note that makes it smell slightly alcoholic to my nose once it dries on the skin.
Great fragrance: classic and elegant but fleeting. The projection is very good for the first 2.5 to 3 hours, and the longevity, averaging around 5 hours, is very good for its style. Beware of anyone claiming it doesn’t last longer than a cologne; be careful, they might have been sold a clone or a refilled bottle.
212 Men Aqua: I picked it up in July from my trusted distributor, and honestly, I love it. I still wear it today, and it’s only gotten better with age. It opens with a strong blend of the classic 212 DNA from ’99 mixed with a punch of marine notes—very fresh and projecting strongly for about half an hour. In the heart, you can detect ambroxan and cardamomo, accompanied by that persistent marine note that lingers almost the entire time. The base features musk, sandalwood, and that omnipresent marine vibe, wrapping up an eight-hour olfactory journey. It projects strongly for the first two hours before gradually settling to a skin scent. I have to highlight Mr. Alberto Morillas, the king of fresh scents, for his precision in emulating the marine note—that algal, seawater smell is truly sublime. It doesn’t just smell good; it earns compliments. I feel lucky to own it and recommend buying it if you can find it at a good price; it’s a limited 2017 edition and absolutely worth it. Cheers.
I picked this up in July from my trusted distributor, and honestly, I love it. I still have it today, and with time, it’s only gotten better. It opens with the DNA of the original 212 from ’99 mixed with a slap of noticeable marine notes that feel fresh; it projects strongly for about half an hour. In the heart, you can detect ambroxan and cardamomo accompanied by that persistent marine note that lingers almost the entire life of the scent. At the base, musk, sandalwood, and that omnipresent marine note close out the 8-hour journey, starting strong and fading down to skin-level. If you spray it on clothes, it lasts even longer—at least a day. A round of applause for Alberto Morillas, the king of fresh scents, for emulating that sublime smell of algae and seawater so well. It doesn’t just smell good; it earns plenty of compliments. I feel lucky and recommend buying it without hesitation if you find it at a good price. It’s a limited 2017 edition and is absolutely worth it. Cheers!
