Miss Dior Essence by Dior

MY LOVE, PERSONALLY I’M NOT A HUGE FAN OF THE MISS DIOR LINE, EITHER BECAUSE I HAVE A COMPLEX ABOUT BEING UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT, BUT WHEN I WENT TO THE MALL AND THEY GAVE ME A SAMPLE, IT WAS DELICIOUS. A SWEET BLACKBERRY OPENING WITH A LOT OF SAPPY JASMINE, DELICIOUS, WITH A WOODY BUT POTENT BASE. I DIDN’T THINK I’D LIKE IT SINCE I NORMALLY DON’T LIKE THAT TYPE OF SCENT LIKE MISS DIOR BLOOMING BOUQUET (WHICH WAS THE ONLY ONE I’D SMELLED UNTIL THAT DAY) AND I LOVED IT. THE TRAIL IS A BIT LONG, LIKE 120 CM, DURATION APPROX 7 AND A HALF HOURS AND SO MANY COMPLIMENTS.

Well, quite a story with this perfume. I bought Hypnotic Poison blindly, luckily I smelled it before opening it and decided to switch, influenced by the salesperson at Juleriaque (who have less charm). I tried all the Miss Diors and this was the one that sat best on my skin. I bought it on the spot without knowing how it would behave. As soon as you spray it, you smell fermented fruit, red wine, but it must be the intensity of the juice since they say it’s concentrated essence (or maybe that’s what the salesperson told me to sell it to me). After a minute or two, all the red fruit scent is released. It’s sharp, not ugly, it’s pretty, but it has nothing to do with that transparent, naive bottle I longed for; I see it more in a red, burgundy, or even black bottle. It’s a ripe fruit and when you smell it deeply, you feel a clean, neat touch. I feel it’s modern, pretentious, that is, it tries to appeal to the masses without losing that Dior sophistication. For my personal taste, maybe if I hadn’t bought it in a hurry I wouldn’t have chosen it (I have in mind to buy Mon Guerlain or Mon Paris so you can see my tastes), however, I like it, so I’m going to use it even if I feel like having a glass of wine, maybe by the end of the night I’ll end up uncorking a red thinking it was my perfume.

What a great perfume! Exquisite, wonderful, with body, trail, and high-quality longevity, finally perfumes that are worth the quality are back. Its scent is a rich and sweet black raspberry jam, pure jasmine, white and red flowers, and oak, incredibly spectacular.

I think we’re looking at the best Miss Dior since Absolutely Blooming. In fact, when I went to get it, I tried the 2024 ‘Parfum,’ and this one completely outshines it in personality. It’s a sweet scent with some undeclared notes, like a smoky touch, which is why it reminded me slightly of Flowerbomb Néctar (which has gunpowder), but this Essence is much more elegant; it smells of class. It’s sweet due to the jam note, which previously appeared as such but now doesn’t; I don’t know why, but what you smell isn’t blackberry, it’s the jam of those fruits, very sweet, very concentrated, and top quality—the kind that costs a fortune for a jar and comes with a handmade label. All of this accompanied by the flowers and that little smoky touch I notice. A marvel… the longevity is amazing, and the sillage is incredible for the first three hours; then it fades, but slowly, it will accompany you all day. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, although expensive, like all Diors, and even more so if they’re new launches. I suppose I behaved very well this year, which is why the Kings brought it to me.

It’s delicious; I can smell a hint of rose, even though it’s not listed in the notes. The union of jasmine, hawthorn, and blackberries creates magic. It’s among my favorites right now. I hope they don’t reformulate or discontinue it.

Beautiful. Reminds me of Miss Dior Absolutely Blooming but feels younger and perfect for spring/summer. I detect the blackberry and a fresh opening that smells like black elderflower. As it dries down, it becomes slightly powdery but not old; the base woods give it power and a youthful vibe. I loved it so much; the longevity is insane: it lasts all day on skin and weeks on clothes. Definitely not a blind buy under any circumstances.

This year has been tough for perfumery; so many scents just don’t sit right with me. I wasn’t planning to try anything in the store; I was just there to pick up Sauvage for my husband, but the sales associate kept pushing. I refused, but later at home I saw the Miss Dior Essence samples in my bag. I tested it with my family and fell in love at the first spray. The fruity side isn’t cloying; it’s fresh and realistic, while the woods add elegance and mystery. I went back three days later, and the girl gave me a knowing smile: ‘I knew you’d like this.’ She didn’t fail. I wear it every day, people compliment me constantly, and most importantly, I genuinely enjoy it. It’s the first fragrance this year that has truly captivated me.

A lovely, cozy feminine scent: red berries with vanilla. When it dries down, I get a strong vanilla note from the woods and raspberry, while the jasmine provides just the right amount of freshness. It has good evolution, though it doesn’t project much; it’s more for personal enjoyment. I don’t see it as similar to Vie Est Belle Elixir or other Miss Dior scents. It’s original, sweet without being annoying, and very feminine. I’d wear it all year round and in any occasion. If you wear it at night, it’s very sensual. It would shine even more in cooler climates; today with 35 degrees, I’m enjoying it a lot. I think it suits all ages. I perceive it as feminine, though perfumes don’t have a gender, it could be unisex depending on taste.

Well, I fell for it, and it’s my last acquisition of 2025. If you have Teflon skin and no perfume lasts on you, believe me, this is a bomb. It lasts a long time; I got so excited that I bought the largest version, a grave mistake—I should have bought the smaller one, as very little is more than enough. It’s a sweet, elegant, powerful scent.

I’m not sure what happened, but I’ve tested it twice and it turned out unpleasant. It smells like herbs to me, nothing delicate; I don’t even sense the jam, it’s more like berries soaked in wet herbs 😟 What a pity, I had high expectations.

The perfect description would be ‘immaculate, delicate, and sweet’. It smells sweet and floral (the jasmine embraces the fruity opening phenomenally). The blackberry shines in an exquisite, delicate way. While writing this, I can’t stop sniffing the tester strip; although ‘sweet’ perfumes don’t usually drive me crazy, this surprised me. It smells like a very clean, impeccable sweet fruitiness. It’s not cloying; it’s like hugging the neatest, shiniest girl with a scent of blackberry jam and divine jasmine. There’s a minimal acidic touch that makes the sweet, jasminey aroma steal my attention even more. That sweet explosion with jasmine reminds me a lot of Britney Spears’ Curious, God what a great perfume!, FINALLY FOUND SOMETHING I REMEMBER THIS FROM! I’m crazy, two sprays on the strip saved in my pocket and I STILL SMELL IT, damn, so rich, I feel that sweet blackberry and jasmine note in my nostrils, this doesn’t look like it’s going to end. If you’re looking for something super sweet and cloying, this won’t deliver; it enchants but I don’t think it will drive everyone crazy. It’s a resounding yes if you want to smell sweet and feel tender.

My experience with Dior is poor longevity, which makes me wonder why I bought this instead of a niche fragrance. At the opening, it reminded me a bit of Vie Est Belle Elixir. Wow, I’ll always prefer Lancôme since their longevity is eternal.

Got this as a birthday gift and I absolutely love it: smells like blackberry jam with a mossy touch and a very soft woody base. The drydown is exquisite; on my skin, it turns into blackberry jam with jasmine. Perfect for cool days, great sillage, and long-lasting.

Context: I own over 300 perfumes, and my absolute favorite is the Miss Dior 2012. If I had to keep just one forever, it would be that, so I’m critical of later editions; none come close. That said, I really liked the Essence opening: it’s like a well-balanced red berry jam, not overly sweet. The drydown is another story… on my skin, it’s just average. Boring jasmine DNA with woods and a touch of sweetness. First impression after trying it once. The price is excessive. I’m not crazy enough to pay 300k pesos for this; with that money, you can buy a niche perfume that surpasses it in quality and originality. What a pity; the bottle is gorgeous, and I was hoping this would be the Miss Dior that re-loved me.

I thought it was gorgeous. That red berry jelly opening is spot-on, almost like the jasmine is blended right into the jam. The dry-down of woods is one of the best I’ve tried: a noticeable, bold wood that’s sweet and super feminine. No violets, which makes it impossible to compare to LVEB L’Elixir (extremely sharp and poorly executed on my nose and skin). I’m not ruling it out once the hype fades and the price comes down to market levels. Thanks for reading.
