  • I heard it today in the store and loved it. It smells strong, basically powerful rose, then settles close to the skin with sandalwood and reminds me of Amouage Guidance. It’s pretty, but if you don’t like rose, it’s not for you.

It doesn’t resemble Guidance 😤. It has great quality and is potent. It doesn’t wash off with soap. The scent isn’t my taste; I prefer other Idoles. It feels as dense as those pink room sprays for closets 😵💫.

  • After finishing the last spritz of this decant and reading that it’s a flanker of a flanker, similar to Amouage’s Guidance, a malicious smile crept across my face. Idôle to Guidance? A nearly €350 powerhouse? Come on, no way. But there it was: that dusty, almost withered, dry, slightly rough rose, just like the Omani house’s. ‘Similar,’ said cautiously. The first hints promise freshness that quickly fades and retreats. Open up that apple, which to me feels more like the damn pear from Idôle—tiresome and repetitive—before giving way to the rose in its most powdery facet. Sure, it wants to pay homage and does, but… friend, at what cost? It’s a slightly dated version, heavier and dustier. They’ve emulated the signature, but they’ve aged it and added 20 years of wear. I’m not sure if the fresh opening blends well with the rose; it feels like a forced union, not a sincere combination. More feminine than masculine, it’s noticeable, at least in the early batches. I still haven’t decided if I like it or not; it’s suffocating, tiring, and can give me a headache. And it definitely makes you look older…

  • Tested it today at the perfume shop and I instantly loved it. Smells incredible—basically a very potent rose, then settles into a skin scent of sandalwood that reminds me a bit of Amouage’s Guidance. It’s a beautiful fragrance, but if you’re not into rose, this isn’t for you.

  • While spraying the last dregs of a decant, I read that this flanker resembles Amouage Guidance. I smiled maliciously… come on, Idôle, to Guidance? A powerhouse perfume costing almost €350? Not even close… And there was that dusty, dry, rough rose, just like the Omani house. ‘Similar’ with caution. It opens with freshness that then fades. The apple (which to me seems like the Idôle pear, tedious) gives way to the powdery rose. It wants to be similar and is, but at what cost. It’s an old-fashioned, heavy, powdery version. They emulated the signature but aged it 20 years. The fresh facet doesn’t blend well with the rose; it’s a union of convenience. More feminine than masculine, long-lasting and present. Early batches are overwhelming, tiring, and can cause headaches. Definitely makes you older…

  • Call me crazy, but it reminds me of the discontinued Love Chloe, except I have the equivalent of Tertia Sensu. It could be a child of that and the classic Idole. A gem! We’ll see about the longevity and trail, but the drydown projects all day inside the bag. I LOVE IT. Edit: after a few days, the longevity is brutal, over 12 hours, way too much for such a delicate scent.

The original Idole was pink, sweet, and soft, but I liked this one more. It’s not as radically feminine; the apple note sets it apart from the classics, making it fresher and less sweet. I don’t understand why people say it’s less of a summer scent than the original; to me, it’s a clear example of a spring and summer fragrance. It suits Olivia Rodrigo perfectly, with that freshly showered, feminine, and sensual vibe.

  • I tried it yesterday in the store, on blotter and on my arm at 6 pm. It doesn’t have the fresh vibe of the classic. At 7 pm it was still strong with a huge trail; my husband smelled it without me saying anything. At 8 pm I changed clothes and it was still there, stuck to my jacket. I washed my arm and at 10 pm it was still there; I had to wash it again. Tomorrow it was still ‘alive’ stuck to the jacket. It smells like pomarose that made me dizzy; it reminded me of Zara’s Hipster Oud that I threw away because of that note.

  • Up until today, no Idole had ever convinced me, but this one does. For those of us who love and cherish Amouage’s Guidance, this is its version without that sweaty note that bothers some. At the store, the opening was very similar to other Idoles, but once I got home, it smelled like clean Guidance. Simply beautiful; I’m amazed by its low rating—I didn’t expect that. I recommend giving it a try.

  • Obviously, the ranking of the flankers is: 1. Nectar, undisputed; 2. Aura; 3. This one. It’s rich, feminine, better than the original, and more youthful. The drydown reminds me of J’Adore. The apple-rose-sandalwood combo wins. It’s not unique, I’ve smelled it before and it’s not 100% my profile; I’d buy it if it’s on sale or if I’m running out of Nectar and Aura.

The original was sweet, soft roses, but I liked this one more. It’s not so radically feminine; the apple sets it apart from the classics, making it fresher and less sweet. I don’t understand why people say it’s less suitable for summer than the original. For me, it’s spring and summer. It suits Olivia Rodrigo; it smells like just-showered, feminine, and sensual.

  • I’ve never liked any Idole until this one. For those who love Amouage Guidance, this is the version without that sweaty note that bothers me. It smells the same as others in the store, but at home it’s clean Guidance. Beautiful; I’m surprised by the low rating. Recommend trying it.

What a pity, with a sandalwood base it smells like burnt incense. Try it before buying; reviews always praise it as a treasure.

  • I tried it today out of curiosity; lately I don’t like trend perfumes (fruity, cloying, gourmands). But this wonder left me speechless. For years I cried when Givenchy Play was discontinued; on my skin it’s very similar. It has nothing to do with the other Idoles; it’s floral, talcum-powdered, woody, and fresh. Very feminine, spectacular for spring and summer. On my skin it lasted 8 hours and is still detectable (perfumes don’t last on me at all). If you loved Play, go try it on your skin.

  • I tried it today out of curiosity; lately, I haven’t been into trendy perfumes (very fruity, cloying, very gourmand—not my style). But feeling this wonder on my skin left me speechless. For years, I cried when Givenchy discontinued Play; on my skin, it’s very similar to this perfume. It has nothing to do with the rest of the Idoles; it’s floral, powdery, and woody, with a fresh, clean touch. Very feminine; it would be spectacular for spring-summer. It’s already been 8 hours on my skin and it’s still detectable (and I don’t get any longevity from perfumes). My recommendation: if you loved Play, go try it on your skin.

  • I tried it today. A delicious and very long-lasting scent with a distinguished air. It’s a pity it gave me a terrible headache because it seemed like a powerhouse to me. I feel it’s a bit unisex; I think a man could wear it.

  • I was eagerly waiting for this launch in Argentina and finally tried it at a perfume store; it’s rose with sandalwood. It doesn’t resemble Guidance at all, nothing like it. It’s similar to the other Idoles; it doesn’t lose its essence but doesn’t resemble Guidance. I love Guidance, but it’s irreproducible. Anyway, this dries down woody and can even become overwhelming if you spray too much. It’s winter-appropriate, nothing fresh. It can work for day or night. More stately than the other flankers. Not unisex at all. To me, it’s feminine.

  • darlenerock

Forgive me to the 84 people who liked this, but this has NOTHING to do with Guidance. You can tell it’s Idole. The rose is a bit toned down, and the wood notes are more pronounced, but meh. Nothing new, sorry, but I won’t accept it.

  • Andrea perfumona

It opens with fresh, juicy green apple, followed by a fresh rose, before turning completely woody. On my skin, it feels very woody, too much for my liking. It’s rich, yes, but it doesn’t blow my mind. The dry down is a gem.

  • Idôle Power is the least favorite of the line for me. A strong, powdery sandalwood dominates with a unisex vibe; it has a lot of personality, but it’s less feminine and delicate than the others, which is exactly what I loved. That dominant note is present from start to finish. It makes me a bit queasy, even with just a tiny drop of sample on my neck. Not for me.

  • I received a sample of this perfume in a casual order, and honestly, I was surprised. Without reading anything, as soon as I sprayed it, it reminded me a bit of Guidance. That feeling, however, lasted only a few minutes. Then the classic Idole DNA emerged, but with a dustier, less playful rose, accompanied by a very prominent sandalwood that makes it seem like the most distinct and mature scent in the line. I see it as more feminine and autumn-winter due to its potency, since its performance is outstanding. Even though I wasn’t interested at first, to be honest, I think it’s worth trying.

  • Idôle Power strays quite far from the original line in my opinion, to the point where I don’t feel its DNA. At first, the apple comes across timidly, and the rose is very muted and dusty, almost wilted. The sandalwood takes over and ends up controlling the fragrance, making it very masculine, woody, and dated. That omnipresence of sandalwood is what I didn’t like in this ‘flankerstein,’ and as a fan of the line, I wouldn’t recommend it. Maybe it works as a unisex scent for nightwear in autumn or winter, but if you’re looking for something more elegant and woody than the original, I’d recommend Idôle L’Intense a thousand times over this new launch. Plus, I think the perfume doesn’t fit Olivia Rodrigo’s image; she seems bland, vulgar, and shrill, totally opposite to the audience it should target.

  • Idôle Power strays far from the original line; I barely feel its DNA. At first, it smells of shy apple and faded, almost wilted rose. Sandalwood dominates everything, making it very masculine, woody, and old. That omnipresence of sandalwood didn’t work for me in this ‘flankerstein,’ and as a lover of Idôle, I can’t recommend it. Maybe it works as a unisex scent for autumn-winter nights, but if you’re looking for something more elegant and woody than the original, I’d a thousand times prefer Idôle L’Intense. Plus, it doesn’t fit Olivia Rodrigo’s image; it feels vulgar and brash, opposite to the audience it should be targeting.

  • What a delight! One of my favorite Idoles, right up there with the discontinued Intense. The rose is super intense, creamy, and powdery. You can also detect the apple’s acidic touch, and the sandalwood fits perfectly. It lasts long, projects well, and makes an impression. To me, it’s neither unisex nor masculine. But if you like it, go for it—you’ll enjoy it. As a plus, the bottle is refillable. 100% recommended if you loved Idole Intense.
