For me, someone with a fairly promiscuous nose, I’m always drawn to trying perfumes that are out of the ordinary. But Malvés hooks me immediately, whispering an almost budding declaration of love into my ear that leaves me speechless. It has everything I love: a resin-drenched sweet apple, amber, and smoky notes that make me feel trapped in this spell. It’s a seductive blend of acidic woody notes (vetiver and cedar) and smoky, spicy, sweet ones (with a fine sandalwood and vanilla), like a liquor mixed with pipe tobacco and cigar. Another perfume that relaxes me incredibly, spreading a dry, soft caress of sweetness over my restlessness, minimally balsamic-creamy, warm, and calming. I love incense whenever other notes capture and dominate it in a contrasting way. It seems to be in total silence, without shouting or pushing. Perfect for autumn and winter, when after a rainy, gray day the road leads you home to the fireplace. A crackling fire in silence welcomes you; you reconnect with the earth, healed with joy and eager to spend hours in romantic, cozy company. When the amber ignites small flames that light up the most hidden corners, a sense of inner well-being is created if you surrender to this composition, literally opening your senses and soul: at some point, it reminds me of an improved Ambre Fetiche, a no easy task. Great work and a possible future purchase, in my case.
