I tried this on my trip to the south. It’s the Les Parfums Mythiques version: opens with basil, rosemary, and grapefruit, with a soft sweet touch. Good projection and longevity of over 7 hours, though I didn’t buy it for that reason. I’m going to hunt for more Les Parfums Mythiques and Vetyver bottles, but I couldn’t find the latter 🙁
Fresh men’s perfume that explodes upon application. Smells classic, lasts almost 10 hours, and projects a lot in the first few hours.
I found this description online: the energetic, aromatic freshness of basil and sage gives way to the richness and sophistication of violet leaves and exotic woods like cypress, lignum vitae, and Chinese cypriol.
The note list here is definitely incomplete; it opens with very bright, classic-style citrus like Versace L’Homme, and you immediately sense the aromatic herbs. While basil stands out, there must be more like sage and rosemary, which were in the 1986 classic. After the initial phase, before the half-hour mark, you notice the bitterness of oakmoss with a light woody base. Back in the day, fragrances were much richer; nowadays, fewer notes are listed, but they don’t fool anyone; here there’s way more than stated. It’s been modernized, and you miss that incisive carnation note and the animalic touches of the past. But for anyone wanting to reminisce about other times and smell clean, masculine, with a vintage vibe, this version of the Givenchy Mythiques collection does a pretty good job. Performance is regular; it shines more in summer with its fresh citrus side, whereas in cooler temps, the timid amber undertone might be more noticeable. It’s a fragrance you can wear year-round. Long live this classic that, despite being reformulated, still recalls its glory days.
Here, the note list is definitely missing something; it opens with very bright, classic-style citrus, like Versace L’Homme. Immediately, aromatic herbs hit you, and the basil is very strong, though I’m sure there are others like sage and rosemary that were in the original 1986 classic. Exactly as mentioned below, the note list is incomplete. The opening citrus is very acidic, like lime, but then lavender comes through strongly in the heart amidst those citrus notes. In the dry down, there’s probably some florals followed by woods. Longevity is beast mode, lasting 8 to 10 hours on skin. The dry down is gorgeous. The opening is super potent and projects wildly. Scent: 7.5/10, Longevity: 9/10, Projection: 9/10, Sillage: 7/10, Value: 4/10, Blind Buy: 6/10. Best season: temperate and warm climates.
Hello fragrance lovers! 💯% recommended. It’s citrus at its absolute best, perfect for summer—a must-have. The longevity and sillage are spot on: it feels fresh, projects well, is a crowd-pleaser, and you won’t regret wearing it. Blessings from Panama!
