Bought blind with no regrets, though I expected something fresher. It starts with a Jolly Rancher-style watermelon, but as it dries down, a sweet, slightly salty, musky coconut takes over, though the watermelon is still noticeable.

A wonderful fruity perfume that gets compliments 100% of the time. Yes, it’s unisex, but it leans heavily feminine. Be careful.

Exquisite synthetic watermelon gum (enough with bashing the artificial stuff, let’s stop the naturalist fallacy!), coconut juice, and sea salt after a great day. Three very balanced notes, decent longevity, and a delicate sillage that isn’t suffocating: exactly what you need when it’s over 30°C. I usually hate summer perfumes (citrus, fresh, Ibiza vibes), but this Wavechild has won me over. I don’t think I’ll move from the 2ml sample to a full bottle, but it’s fun and original.

It’s a watermelon bubblegum from my childhood. The definition of summer: fresh, comforting, fruity, and playful. It takes me back to my twenties in Menorca, living off watermelon mojitos and sunscreen. It’s photorealistic for me. It smells intensely of watermelon or melon bubblegum. Longevity and sillage are moderate, though the first hours are strong. More feminine because that’s how girls smelled in the 90s (guys smelled like armpits). Unisex-feminine, youthful, zero versatility, summer informal only. Scent: 7.5, longevity: 6h, sillage: 6, price: €150/100ml.

My childhood was in the 90s, and this fragrance has been a hit for bringing me back to my youth. It reminds me of Tico Tico watermelon gum. Yes, the watermelon is synthetic, but the overall effect is refreshing, summery, cheerful, and full of light. It smells great. You can detect coconut water and citrus, but the watermelon is there from start to finish. Although it seems feminine at first, with wear it feels unisex and perfect for men in informal summer settings. A good alternative if you’re not into citrus in the heat.

I took months to decide because 80% of the reviews were from women 😅. I bought it blindly for $135. On my skin, it opens with an amazing watermelon and sharp citrus, giving that Jolly Rancher watermelon candy vibe. Within the first two hours, the citrus fades and the sweet watermelon remains, slightly synthetic due to the candy resemblance but not cloying thanks to an almost imperceptible marine vibe that adds freshness, perhaps from the ambergris. At 3-4 hours, the coconut emerges: creamy, neutral, like Dove soap mixed with natural coconut, neither sweet nor tropical, more beachy. This creamy coconut dominates, though the watermelon lingers in the background, and when I move, I catch ‘bursts’ where the watermelon highlights again. By 5-6 hours, the watermelon fades and only the coconut remains in your bubble. On clothes, however, the sweet citrusy watermelon vibe projects well 2-3 hours after the initial citrus drop, lasting up to 8 hours. I consider it unisex, but due to the candy-like sweetness, I recommend decanting before buying the full bottle.

I got this as a sample and initially thought it was a waste of money, but I absolutely loved it. It doesn’t evolve much or have complex nuances; it smells like delicious, perfectly ripe watermelon with a hint of citrus and coconut. The watermelon is definitely the standout note. It leaves me super relaxed and wears softly on the skin. I’m not sure if it’s worth the price just for smelling like watermelon, but the quality is there and it’s not synthetic at all.
