It didn’t impress me, I’ll keep testing it. It smells vanilla and talc-like. It’s rich, but be careful outdoors: it’s excessively strong and sweet. I had a headache after just two sprays; two is enough. The longevity and sillage are enviable. If you love sweet and intense scents, it’s for you. I wouldn’t buy it again.
It didn’t hit me hard; I’ll keep testing it. It smells quite vanilla and powdery. If it’s a rich fragrance, you have to be careful with the drops because it’s excessively strong and sweet. I had a day with a headache; two sprays are enough. Its longevity and trail are enviable. If you love extremely sweet and intense perfumes, this is for you. Would I buy it again? No.
I’m obsessed because it transports me back to my childhood playing with my mom’s cosmetics, that golden lipstick I used in secret whose scent lingered on my skin after I took it off. It’s ultra-feminine, coquettish yet light and carefree. I’m not an expert, but I sense the pink pepper as a top note that wakes me up, along with flowers and talc. This gift went straight to my heart.
I love it; it’s sweet without being cloying, creamy, and addictive. I really feel the praline note, even though it’s not listed, and it reminds me of Nuit Tresor.
I tried it today to decide. At first, I was excited by the pink pepper, bergamot, and patchouli notes. It was soft at the one-minute mark, but by the hour, it intensified. What remains on the skin is violet and talc-like. Definitely not buying it; I’d rather invest in Royal Amber.
I’ve always loved Montale’s Intense Cafe and fell in love with this Velvet Gold by Orientica; it’s almost a clone, that typical Arab rose-vanilla scent with a twist. Montale uses coffee for unisex, here it’s violet for a floral woman’s scent, and a caramel that reminds me of coffee. Totally recommended for women who want to smell like a goddess. For men, stick with Intense Cafe, which is the same but more unisex.
I was scared of the patchouli, but it’s soft (sometimes I get a bitter note, but it doesn’t last). Right after spraying, it smells like golden rum with vanilla, then green and fresh patchouli. I don’t detect the rose, but I do smell the violet giving a powdery touch, leaving a soft vanilla on the skin—not overly sweet. I’d describe it as spiced vanilla, something mature. Be careful with the dosage because it can be overwhelming. Moderate trail, lasts 8/10 hours without exaggeration. I’m satisfied with the performance. It feels more feminine… I have a decant and can’t decide if I should buy it. I really like it, although there were days it gave me a headache. I don’t think I’d wear it often (and its price isn’t as cheap as other Arab perfumes). It’s a different kind of vanilla; I recommend trying this gem, though it’s not suitable for blind buying.
I was scared of patchouli, but here it’s soft and fresh, not bitter. At first, it smells like golden rum with vanilla, then the green patchouli emerges, and the talc-like violet leaves a mature vanilla on the skin, like eggnog. Be careful outdoors; it can be overwhelming. Lasts 8/10 hours without exaggeration. Performance is top-notch, feels more feminine. I have a decant and love it, though some days it gave me headaches, so I wouldn’t wear it daily given the price. It’s a unique vanilla jewel, but don’t buy blindly.
It’s a very pretty fragrance. On my skin and on clothes, it doesn’t last very long. It leaves a moderate trail. When it dries on the skin, it feels like a very creamy, powdery caramel, sweet and vanilla-like.
It’s a very pretty fragrance. On my skin and clothes, it doesn’t last long. It leaves a moderate trail. The dry down is a creamy, talc-like, sweet vanilla.
In my opinion, it’s the most subtle of this oriental line, but it’s very lovely. I like its scent a lot; it’s quite powdery and delicious, and honestly, I don’t perceive the patchouli.
I’m testing it alongside Ristretto Intense Café. At first, I didn’t notice the similarity because Velvet Gold opens with a very marked sweet violet, but when it dries, they are very similar. Even though it doesn’t list coffee, you can definitely feel it. In short: add violets to Ristretto Intense Café and take away some coffee, and you get Velvet Gold, with similar intensity and longevity. If you like violets, this could be a better option than RIC. I never perceived the animal notes. Also, I really like the bottle.
In my nose, it’s a dupe of Angel’s Share by Killian, only with less intensity. Plus, the quality and the liquor-like trail can’t be compared—obviously—to Killian’s masterpiece.
Guaranteed migraine due to the overly synthetic musk.
Guaranteed migraine from the so synthetic musk.
The best way to describe Velvet Gold is a powdery caramel with delicate floral accents. It’s a very well-executed fragrance, a true beauty, with outstanding performance. At first, I doubted if I’d like this profile, but I admit it was a pleasant surprise. It’s not overwhelming; on the contrary, I find it delicate and attractive, easy to wear on any occasion. I recommend trying it; it could be a super interesting option for those looking for a caramel that isn’t cloying. Velvet Gold presents itself as a refined and elegant choice, perfect for those who want something sweet without going overboard.
The powdery notes give me rhinitis, which is why even though I liked it, I hesitated. I bought a decant, tried it, and for me, this fragrance is perfect. I love it; I feel elegant and feminine. Good longevity and moderate sillage.
I didn’t like it; I expected more.
I love it 😻 I tried it at a store in Valladolid and ended up having to buy it. For me, it’s the best violet caramel perfume. Nothing childish; it’s more elegant and very sweet. The animal notes are there, trying to mimic leather, but they’re super soft and not an issue. I don’t have anything like it in my collection. As for the similarity to Mainson FK… I have no idea and it doesn’t matter to me. Yes, when it dries it has a Roses Vanille vibe in the background, but it’s secondary. It’s a dimensional fragrance; you can tell there are phases or parts that stand out more than others.
It finally arrived. I bought it blindly based on the reviews. I can’t help but notice a pee-like scent on my skin, 🙁 I hope it fades with maceration or I’ll see how it evolves.
