It starts with Shalimar’s DNA but without leather or civet. Smoky, bitter almond, tonka, and vanilla with a hint of chocolate. Perfect for cold days, delicious if you like smoky and mature scents.
What a beautiful version of Shalimar! The bergamot hits hard at first, then fades, leaving tonka and vanilla to shine on my skin. At the dry-down, I smell rose and almond. I own the original and the leather incense, which feels too heavy for me; this one doesn’t have that heaviness. It reminds me more of Tonka Imperiale from the house but at a fairer price. It’s my favorite; what a pity it’s limited and not always available.
Christmas treat: it’s the dark, sweet, and sparkly Shalimar. Smells like winter and class. I detect almonds and mostly tonka; I don’t sense the florals or citrus, but they blend well. It’s a bit linear, but who cares because it’s a masterpiece, one of the best flankers so far.
