Not unisex at all; it’s pure man, fresh and pleasant, lasting over 8 hours without issues with a moderate to heavy sillage.
Dense fragrance with body and its own personality. It’s dark and enigmatic. Its notes remind me a bit of what I find in Sauvage and Colonia Club (Acqua di Parma) as they dry, though I’m not sure which ones exactly. You can tell it uses top-quality ingredients. I see it for elegant occasions and cold climates, though it has some versatility. It seems the opposite of unisex to me: it’s extremely masculine and yet extremely feminine, a true ‘multisex’. Without a doubt, it’s one of the best I’ve tried from this house.
Thick and characterful perfume, dark and mysterious. As it dries, it smells like things I recognize from Sauvage and Colonia Club (Acqua di Parma), though I’m not sure which ones exactly. It uses top-quality ingredients. I see it for elegant occasions and cold weather, though it’s versatile. It’s super ‘multisex’—extremely masculine and feminine at the same time. One of the best I’ve tried from this brand.
Short review: AdP Sandalo EDP is a gem, better than the brown version (EDCC), ideal for all year round and for formal or casual wear (not sport), with magnificent performance. Romantic review: I’m in love with the Signatures of the Sun line (color BLACK, YES BLACK). This AdP Sandalo EDP is well-constructed and combines lavender, sandalwood, and tonka. When Kalan from Parfums de Marly came out, opinions were divided for mixing fougère with burnt cotton. Here I want to say that AdP has a similar intention but with no relation to Kalan. I mean it has a very worked lavender that unites the aromatic side (like Tom Ford’s Beau de Jour) and the fresh side (like Kalan), without that powdery lavender of Xerjoff’s Alexandria II. The fragrance starts with petit grain and citrus for about 15 minutes. Then the lavender harmonizes with sandalwood and tonka bean. These last two notes fuse organically; you don’t know if the creaminess comes from the sandalwood or the tonka, but the result is marvelous. You’re left with a fragrance that doesn’t evolve much but has a lavender that makes you feel clean and elegant, with a slight sweetness and creaminess from the sandalwood-tonka that makes it modern and winning. I clarify that the sandalwood doesn’t reach that milky point that sometimes bothers (like in CH’s Santal Ruby); it’s a slightly spicy, creamy wood. What I love is that it smells different from everything trending without going into complicated niche territory. Ingredient quality makes the difference; you don’t notice anything synthetic or forced. I see it for daily use in all four seasons; it definitely ranks in the top 3 of this AdP line (above Ambra and below Quercia). How are the performance stats? It lasts a long time. I think the brand sought elegance, so they don’t have the projection of an Orto Parisi or an Ombre Nomade from LV, but at 1.5 meters for 4-5 hours, you get noticed quite a bit. Closer to the skin (like 30cm), it lasts another 5 hours, and I’m not exaggerating. If you apply it on clothes, it will surely last more than 2 days. It’s a compliment machine due to its fresh-creamy, classic-modern duality. For me, swapping the brown bottle for the black one was a hit; they refined it, modernized it, and made it elegant; plus, the black one is prettier than the brown. Before you get discouraged by not finding the previous presentation, try the entire black line and check with your nose that they are a gem. There’s been a lot of hype on the EDCCs, but these EDPs, which are the ones existing today and will continue to be made, are worth it. Would I pay the retail price of 209 euros for 100ml? I don’t think so… Would I pay 100-130 euros in outlets for 100ml? Yes! It’s so addictive that I don’t think the bottle will last until 2024; it will surely finish before then. AUGURI ACQUA DI PARMA!!
From the Signatures of the Sun box that comes with five perfumes, this Sandalwood is the ONLY one that actually smells like sandalwood (an obvious point, but the others are named that and smell like something else). It has decent longevity and a pleasant dry-down. The other four fragrances had me face-palming for hours. The Quercia one, I went to the sink to try to wash it off because wow, that fabric… I’ll review that one in due time.

Maximo-santana, this is the best review I’ve read; I totally agree, and the quality of the ingredients is spectacular. The only thing it lacks, in my opinion, is longevity; for a fragrance at that price point, they should have invested in a better fixative, but in summary: it’s gorgeous, creamy, and elegant.
I arrived at the collection and I LOVE IT. I’ve already tried Oud and Leather, colognes, and EDPs, and they are great, but not as versatile. With Sandalo, I found what I was looking for: elegant, delicious, masculine, and versatile (looks super good on anyone 30+, though it’s worth trying at any age). It opens citrusy and dries down with lavender and cardamom; it’s not creamy, there’s a present spiciness with the citrus. Is it worth it? I wear it as my signature for several weeks now, excellent longevity over 8 hours, strong sillage for the first hour and then a personal bubble, but if you get close, it’s noticeable. Give it a chance, go smell it, and don’t pass it up; it will surprise you.
Just arrived in the collection and I LOVE IT. I had already tried Oud and Leather, both colognes and EDPs, and they’re great, but not as versatile or easy to wear as Sandalwood. Upon smelling it, I found what you’re looking for: an elegant, delicious, masculine, and versatile fragrance (for those over 30, though I think it suits any age). It opens with citrus and dries aromatically with lavender and cardamom; this sandalwood isn’t creamy, it’s well-presented, slightly spicy, always accompanied by citrus. Worth it: I’ve worn it as a signature scent for weeks and I love it. Excellent longevity, over 8 hours. Sillage is super strong the first hour, then it becomes a personal bubble, but if someone gets close, it’s noticeable. Give it a chance, go smell it, and don’t set it aside just to try the others; you might be pleasantly surprised.
It smells simple, like sandalwood and soap. It’s elegant, woody, and clean. Nothing difficult to wear, not headache-inducing, with natural ingredients as a good AdP should be. A soap with an oriental touch, nothing amber-heavy, thank God. Masculine and versatile for any weather. Style-wise, it’s like Diptyque’s Orphéon, not identical but in the same line. For men 30+ who want to look elegant without needing a suit. Manly, neat, and elegant. It’s not vintage. Try it on your skin because natural sandalwood can react poorly on some. If you like it, it’s a high-quality fragrance.
A very fleeting citrus opening, where the main sandalwood note overwhelms those initial citrus notes. The sandalwood is accompanied by a pleasant soapy lavender smell, and then, upon drying down, that overwhelming sandalwood balances out with a very tasty sweetness. It’s a mature and elegant fragrance par excellence; for me, it’s more than a night scent; I consider it for daily use in autumn and winter due to that (personal) feeling of cleanliness from that sandalwood-soapy blend. The good: a very tasty and mature aroma, as Acqua di Parma is known for, quality ingredients, a sandalwood that smells very natural, a ‘different’ feeling of cleanliness, and an unusual, distinctive scent. The bad: for me, the evolution feels limited; the top, heart, and base note pyramid in the fleeting citrus opening is a short-lived sensation. While it’s known that the main note is sandalwood, it doesn’t let you enjoy the house’s quality regarding its evolution. Hope this helps. A big hug to everyone.
Citrus opening that fades quickly, then the sandalwood takes over and crushes those initial citrus notes. Paired with a lavender soap scent that smells great; as it dries, the sandalwood blends into a very rich sweetness. It’s a mature and elegant fragrance. For me, it’s more than just for night; I wear it daily in autumn and winter for that distinct sense of cleanliness the sandalwood-soap mix gives. The good: it smells rich and mature, as expected from Acqua di Parma, quality ingredients, a very natural sandalwood, and an unusual cleanliness. The bad: for me, the evolution feels weak; the top, heart, and base notes feel ephemeral. Even though I know sandalwood is the star, it doesn’t let me enjoy this great house as much as I’d like regarding its evolution. Hope this helps. Best.
The Sandalo Eau de Parfum by Acqua di Parma is a spicy, woody, aromatic, and semi-fougère fragrance. It opens with citrus accompanied by spices like cardamom. Gradually, the main note, sandalwood, emerges, and combined with lavender, it gives a soapy sensation, reminiscent of some 80s fougères. A couple of hours later, upon drying down, it leaves a slightly aromatic, pleasant woody scent. This sandalwood-based fragrance from Acqua di Parma is suitable for any season, quite versatile for work, formal situations, and casual wear; I see it as the signature scent for someone with their life settled, who enjoys life, and a bit mature, though that’s just my perception. Regarding longevity, it lasted 8 to 9 hours with good sillage for the first hour, then settled closer to the skin. I’d rank it among my top 2 favorites from the Signatures line, alongside Leather; its aroma is a semi-fougère that has nothing to envy from Beau de Jour by Tom Ford, except that both are a bit pricey.
Acqua di Parma’s Sandalwood is a spiced, woody, semi-fougère that opens with citrus and cardamom. Gradually, the sandalwood and lavender create that soapy touch we associate with 80s fougères. As it dries, it leaves a pleasant, aromatic woody base. It’s versatile for any season, ideal for the office or casual events; I see it as the signature of a mature person with life figured out. It lasted 8-9 hours, with good projection at the start and then skin-scent. I’d rank it among my two favorites in the Signatures line, alongside Leather; it’s a semi-fougère that has nothing to envy from Tom Ford’s Beau de Jour, though both are a bit pricey.
Like the EDT, it has slight barbershop vibes but with more depth; it’s a fragrance for a charismatic gentleman. Longevity and trail are reasonable, though nothing dazzling; the sillage is present but subtle. I think that’s exactly what it represents: reserved, understated elegance perfect for the office or evening events. It has a pleasant soapy lavender note that appears around the 30-minute mark, and combined with cardamom and tonka bean, it creates an interesting composition. The fresh opening of lemon and orange is very refreshing. The heart notes of lavender and cardamom blend together to make the scent start to shine—simple yet very elegant. The dry down is well-presented with sandalwood and tonka bean; everything fits together harmoniously. All in all, it’s a successful, elegant fragrance that knows how to inspire without being intrusive; you can feel the Acqua di Parma DNA and its significant price. Is it worth it? Yes for one person, no for another. Try it and decide.
This is my favorite out of everything I’ve tried. I first tested it as a decant and was hooked by that lavender note; the citrus top opens well, but quickly the heart hits with a blend of lavender, cardamom, and sandalwood that fascinated me. It offers some of the best performance from Acqua di Parma in terms of longevity and projection (around 6-7 hours), without being as heavy as Oud & Spice or Quercia, which I found too dense. It’s my first niche fragrance (though some argue Acqua di Parma isn’t truly niche) and the first one I bought after testing about 30 decants from various brands and price points. I ended up buying the first 180ml bottle, which started my collection. The price is high, but if you find it on the gray market from trusted sellers, it’s not so bad, and the price per milliliter on the 180ml bottle is a great deal.
It’s a bold, clean, high-end Italian fragrance. The longevity is brutal, lasting 8 to 10 hours on skin. I see it as more for elegant, formal, and serious occasions. I wouldn’t recommend it for young people since the scent is mature; it’s ideal for those 30 and up.
