  • I absolutely love it; it just brings back good memories of my years living in London. That was a long time ago.

No wonder there aren’t many reviews; only perfume freaks and experts know about it since it’s so rare and hard to find anywhere. I didn’t discover it because I’m an expert, but while walking around London with my friend Steve. He took me to a place I’d never been, an old, famous barbershop there. I felt like I was in Bilbo Baggins’ house or an 18th-century laboratory. A whole experience. Wood, lavender (I assume for after shaving), and a warm sensation with extraordinary concentration. Fabulous—there’s no other word for it, like something straight out of an old fairy tale.

I bought it online as a gift thanks to your review, Torrente—many thanks. It’s a true black pearl. I enjoy it every day.

  • I was gifted this three months ago. Now I’m living in London for studies and still come back to Madrid to relax. London is like Madrid, just more cramped and humid. There are some great bars with a good vibe—that’s where I meet everyone, both locals and travelers. One night, I arrived with friends and a girl with black hair and very pale skin who smelled… smelled… yes, she smelled amazing. To put it in perspective, I don’t have a great sense of smell, especially in a crowd. That scent creates an impressive aura around you. It’s my favorite.

  • A lost treasure! It’s a powerful sandalwood from start to finish. Excellent price-to-quality ratio. If you like these notes, it’s a 10/10. It’s not for young people; it’s perfect for those over 45. As Torrente says, it’s a black pearl. You put it on, close your eyes, and you’re instantly in London, 1900. Simply marvelous!

Bestial. Chanel Egoiste was always my favorite, but this one left me speechless. I tried it in a decant, then bought the SFGTrumper bottle, and it blew me away. It’s a brighter, cleaner version of Egoiste with about 80% similarity. SFGT is more citrusy and luminous at first, while Egoiste is woodier with a slightly odd dry-down. In the heart, both are floral, but SFGT stands out for its lavender, giving it a soapy, barbershop vibe. At the end, Egoiste turns spicier with tobacco and ambrette, whereas SFGT is sweeter thanks to the vanilla. SFGT is more linear—you know where it’s going from the start—unlike Egoiste, which evolves more. Plus, SFGT lasts and projects two hours longer, around 10 hours total. Verdict: if you have one, you don’t need the other. For versatility and longevity, I’m sticking with Sadalwood F. Geo Trumper. A gem of perfumery.

I’ve tried to like this fragrance, but it’s impossible for me. Even though the opening is citrusy, fresh, and pleasant, there’s some component (spices like cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, or powdery florals like rose or carnation) that makes me nauseous and gives me a headache. The same thing happened with Chanel Egoiste; both are unbearable if you’re sensitive to any of these notes.

I tried to hold it in, but I can’t. The opening is fresh and citrusy, but then something spicy or powdery floral kicks in that gives me nausea and a headache. The same thing happened with Chanel Egoiste; if you’re sensitive to that, forget both—they’re unbearable.
