It was the 80s, and we’d get sent to the countryside to stay with our aunts and uncles. One summer, a cousin showed up we hadn’t seen in years. What a surprise! His perfume flooded the whole room where we slept. Even though my sense of smell was just starting to wake up, I remember that scent, along with Drakkar Noir, sparked my curiosity and desire to own everything. I recall it as a fougère, sometimes ambered, other times woody. It had its moment of glory and then vanished. Too bad I couldn’t get my hands on a bottle, and I doubt it would have lasted this long.
