Bought it blind and loved it on the first try; seemed unbeatable value. Then it got sweeter until I couldn’t stand it and gave it away. Reminds me of Le Male, though at first I thought of Kenzo Power. It has some Allure Sport Extreme vibes but is sweeter and less natural. It’s not bad, many will like it, and the price is good, but it’s not for me. Lasts 8 hours on a 2019 batch.
Excellent price for a fragrance with good sillage and longevity. Don’t use it in spring or summer; it’s for cold climates where it lasts longer. I recommend it, gentlemen.
Went to Liverpool looking for perfumes for my self-birthday gift, with a budget for 5 bottles. I had 4 in mind: Aqua Essentiale, Declaration Essence, Egoiste Platinum, and Nuit d’Issey. I left the last one to my trusted saleswoman. I almost bought Roadster Sport, but she told me it was too youthful and weird. Secante was my pick. At first, it smells synthetic; my girlfriend says it smells like library plastic, but it’s pleasant. Then comes the pepper, and the base turns sweet. It’s disorienting and different. I wear it for night outs and surprises. 8/10.
Very powdery, spicy, and distinguished. Avoid it in the heat. The only thing I’ll say is that I wore it in college and was a sensation. It’s a beautiful perfume for the price.
Smells great, spicy opening but fresh with rich lavender. Not as spicy as they said; feels talcum-like with a subtle apple touch. Ideal for the office and cool days. For this price, highly recommended ✌🏽
Good for the office, nothing spectacular, smells like pepper. Weak projection. For the price, you can’t ask for more. 7/10.
Starts very spicy and peppery, but softens over time, revealing lavender and apple. The bottle is very original.
The hype played a bad trick on me. If I’d tested it first, I wouldn’t have bought it, though I do wear it in cold weather. It’s not bad, but the pepper is harsh and lacks subtlety. It doesn’t draw attention; it’s invisible: perfect for the office or coffee, but forget pubs or clubs. I wear it when I want to smell good without spending on my favorites. Death to the hype and the YouTube hype-beasts.
Sold it before because I didn’t see the point, but thanks to Jerry Drake and training my nose, I now appreciate it. The peppery start is intrusive, but then it turns powdery, talcum-like, and lavendery, almost soapy like Prada. Great for the office or dates, though it can be strong in summer. Lasts 8 hours with two sprays. It’s super cheap, so I’ll buy it someday.
Bought Ferragamo Black with high hopes, but the peppery opening is jarring and doesn’t work for me. It evolves into something bearable, but stays in a generic lane. It only smells good in the last hour when it’s almost dead. Out of 6 hours, 5 are boring or weird. Not recommended; it has nothing ‘Black’ about it, and naming it that is a mistake.
What a delicious perfume and the dry-down is top-notch. The opening is similar to the classic Chanel Allure Homme, but the dry-down is totally different. Very rich. Pity about the projection or I got olfactory fatigue; it doesn’t project much. On my skin and clothes, it lasts more than 8 hours.
I sprayed 12 times and wore it for 8 hours (that’s what I thought). I got home, went to sleep, and woke up in the middle of the night still smelling it; I could detect it until I got saturated and had to open the window. It’s affordable and smells great, like rich powder. Great for school from fall through spring and for the office all year. In fact, I left some at the office and put it on when I got there. Recommended: yes, 4 out of 4.
If I find it similar to La Nuit de l’homme, it’s much better. Smells like cardamom with a hint of pepper, lasts longer, and projects more. Definitely worth it.
The opening is great and masculine, then it shifts to the cardamom of La Nuit de l’homme and settles on my skin as a powdery iris from Dior Homme, but softer.
What a pleasant scent; you smell clean. Very versatile for daily use. I perceive it as citrus with lavender and a touch of powder, but very rich. Perfect for the office. Lasts about 5 hours.
Never really convinced me. I don’t feel it resembles La Nuit de L’homme as people say; I see more similarity to Chanel Allure Homme: elegant, masculine, and for formal events, not casual ones.
Bought it blind and it was a bittersweet experience. Smells like lemon with makeup; the dry-down is powdery and lasts 5-6 hours, projecting for only an hour before staying close to the skin. Bittersweet because it gets compliments, but only from a certain type of woman. I didn’t like it. I prefer citrus and spices; this is for a young adult aged 18 to 30. Don’t buy it blind; you need to like the vibe or it’ll just sit in your closet for weekends.
Clean, nocturnal scent perfect for semi-formal occasions. The pepper note is quite strong, so 3 sprays are enough. Recommended.
Very clean and delicious, though not the masterpiece everyone claims it is.
Smells clean and fruity with lavender at first, then evolves into something spicy and sweet thanks to the tonka bean. Totally worth it. Lasts 8 hours without issues and is very versatile. It has a slight nod to YSL Y Edt at the start, but it’s not a clone. Very rich scent.
I bought it blind, but it’s NOT what I expected. Honestly, if you already own CK Obsession, this fragrance is redundant in your collection. I’ll try to give it other opportunities.
Rating it based on its price, which is the only correct way to value perfumes (price-to-quality ratio), this F Black is indeed a scent bomb: elegant, mature, and present. It’s like the intense version of La Nuit de l’Homme, with good performance. It also reminds me of Hummer Black, another one I love and is just as cheap. In my perfume rotation and its ideal climate, autumn and winter, it’s a beauty for semi-formal to formal use, very elegant. It’s good, beautiful, and cheap. Although for purists and snobs in the perfume world, this perfume is despised and undervalued because they judge from brands and not from price, the quality this Ferragamo offers for such little money is very good.
Salvatore Ferragamo F Black… a clean, elegant, and masculine perfume. The change in notes is easily distinguishable: it starts with that clean opening of lavender with apple, and as it dries down, it takes a drastic spicy turn with the pepper and coriander, with the tonka bean being very masculine and striking. It gives that business man feeling. It was one of my first perfumes, and I hold it with much affection. At first impression, it might be liked or not, but with use, it definitely ends up being liked. I’d think its age range would be above 25 years.
If you’re not too experienced and want to know what it smells like, it starts with a fresh fruity opening, but as it dries down, that fruity part fades and it smells like talc with lavender. Personally, being young, I didn’t like it; it gives off that old-school barbershop vibe. It’s a clean scent that, in my opinion, is for older people, over forty. The performance seems excellent; the scent smells like what the fragrance costs—it doesn’t smell expensive or anything like that.
A total scent bang for the price and smell. It doesn’t have much projection despite lasting 6 to 7 hours on my skin. Smells clean, very talcky, with light sweet touches of tonka, moderately vanilla-like with a pepper that isn’t strong or feels very spicy overall. It’s fresh, clean, subtle, and elegant. Maybe it smells a bit old-school, but in a well-dressed, neat way. It’s not unpleasant or loud in any sense; I see it as perfectly versatile.
F Black is a composition that finds beauty in its simplicity. While it lacks a major evolution, it’s very pleasant to the nose. The stars are lavender wrapped in a clean aura of talc, closing with a touch of tonka and spices that make the composition more masculine and give it weight. Without that final facet, it would be a generic perfume; in fact, that was my first reaction upon smelling it. Once it settled on my skin, it began to evolve and improved significantly, becoming one of my favorite commercial scents. Overall, it’s sober but with that extra ‘sexy’ touch. It’s like a clean, neat man who is also daring and seductive. In terms of performance, at least on me, it’s not the beast many claim; I admit it causes olfactory fatigue for me, as I stop smelling it after 10 minutes, yet my surroundings perceive it very well. I can’t state objectively how long it lasts, but approximately at least 6 hours if it does, obviously not projecting until the last hour but definitely within your personal bubble. Considering the price, it’s a great perfume. I got it new at a super price and highly recommend it. Scent: 8/10, Longevity: 7/10, Projection: 7/10, Recommended.
“F by Ferragamo Black” launches as a bold statement of intent with an audacious bouquet, but it faces the challenge of finding balance and novelty. The opening of lavender and apple seeks a duality between tradition and modernity; the lavender evokes timeless classicism, while the apple adds contemporary sweetness. While the combination is attractive, the familiarity of the lavender can feel safe, and the apple, though refreshing, risks being predictable. The heart, with black pepper and coriander, attempts a risky maneuver. The pepper adds a spicy warmth seeking to awaken the senses, but it can feel intrusive, especially when mixed with the sometimes controversial green notes of coriander. It’s an intense phase that polarizes opinions. The base of tonka bean and hop is where it tries to assert its sophistication. The tonka, with its almost gourmand richness, offers a sweetness that blends with the depth of the hop. This combination is the most successful, providing a warm, enveloping base that could have lasted longer. Overall, it teases boldness without straying from the beaten path. It will be appreciated by those seeking something masculine without challenging norms too much, but with its own identity. While not revolutionary, it offers reliable elegance for a staple in your collection.
My experience with this blind-buy perfume was disappointing. I followed reviews from influencers like Jeremy Fragrance, Mr. Félix, or Curly Fragrance, but the scent quality is low, longevity is non-existent, and projection is weak too. I reapplied it four times during the day just to get any performance. There are way better options for a similar price. Don’t waste your money on this.
A cheap beast that hits the three B’s: good, beautiful, and cheap. I think they’ve already discontinued it in 2024. Smells incredible and lasts more than enough for me. Yes, it’s generic, but who cares if it does its job for under $30 in a 100ml bottle? Even though Ferragamo named it ‘Black,’ it has nothing dark or rebellious about it. It smells like current fashion: wild blue with lavender, a hint of pepper, then heavily sweetened with tonka bean. It hits the mark. Reminds me of a mix of Trussardi Riflesso Blue Vibe, YSL La Nuit de L’Homme, and Bleu de Chanel EDT. Charming, masculine, and well-made, with a classic vibe at a great price. I see it for informal or semi-formal wear for men aged 25 to 55. Medium versatility; above 27-30 degrees, I think it gets stuffy due to the talc, and there are better options. Longevity and performance: notable. On my skin, it lasts 6-7 hours, with the last three hours staying very close to the skin. I didn’t ask for more or expect miracles for the price. Honestly, very well done for the current state of the designer market. P.S.: If you see it anywhere—even casually in a small perfumery outside chains like Primor or Druni, at a duty-free, online perfumer, or seller forum—grab it.
No need to look for novelty here; the scent is fairly generic. It’s simple, spicy, sweet, and masculine—perfect for autumn or cold winters without the heat. Lasts about 5-6 hours, and at $25, reapplying doesn’t hurt. It’s good, but don’t expect to be surprised.
Fresh fragrance, somewhat common, yet very rich. Undervalued due to its low charisma. Personally, I feel it’s a great alternative for hot weather and more. Quality-to-price ratio is super good. On my skin, it lasts more than 8 hours with almost endless sillage since the pepper gives it a brutal projection.
The opening is rich, lavender with apple, but as it dries down, it gets dirty and takes on a scent I relate somewhat to tar, with pepper. Finally, it enters the final phase and the aroma sweetens with tonka bean. As I mentioned in my review of Roberto Cavalli Black, I consider both fragrances to have similar structures but with different notes; in other words, although they smell different, they have a similar evolution, with Ferragamo seeming a bit rougher, more masculine, serious, and slightly heavier to me. I recommend it for temperate and cold weather (it’s a bit overwhelming in summer and can become annoying), especially for work use.
Simple and fulfilling composition, you get a lot for what you pay. It’s a spicy scent with a fresh opening featuring apple that quickly drops into sweetness due to vanilla and tonka bean notes. Don’t expect a novel scent; this falls into the formal category, an updated retro aroma that can be worn daily and at the office. You’ll get compliments for being a tasteful generic scent, but don’t expect people to say WOW when you wear it.
I own over 200 perfumes, and this is the only one where I can’t smell anything. It’s faint, barely hinting at a scent. It’s original, you can feel the quality in the packaging, but it turned out to be a total bust for me.
According to reviews, you need to give it a couple of months for oxidation to reveal notes and strength I don’t perceive yet. It smells like pure barber shop, foaming up with shaving cream and tonics. It lasts 3-4 hours without projecting much. It’s a clean scent for work, and for the price, it’s not bad.
Aromatic and spicy, with apple and black pepper standing out. Very rich aroma, with good longevity and projection. Occasion: semi-formal.
My first impression wasn’t great, but I found it at a good price and it caught my attention. It’s a fresh aroma upon application with lavender and apple, but as it dries down, it becomes more ‘earthy’ as I’ve read elsewhere, and slightly soapy. It’s a generic scent, nothing extraordinary; I’d use it for the office or any occasion where I just want to smell good. As for longevity and sillage, I’ll be testing it and will leave my opinion.
Clean scent of shaving foam and green apple. A good option if you can grab it at a decent price, around 20 euros, and for work. The problem is it’s gained fame thanks to YouTubers and the price has skyrocketed.
There’s something about this fragrance that I find unbearable, I think it’s the fusion of two notes; it smells like cheap perfume. I think I’m going to gift it away.
It’s a clean lotion, though the components blend a bit chaotically. The lavender and green apple smell quite synthetic. The black pepper lingers, and soon the creamy sweetness of tonka bean emerges… it reminded me of Azaro Chrome, but I prefer Azaro C. I’m still testing the longevity and sillage.
