Not for young people. Upon trying it, it smelled like something I’ve worn on older ladies before, can’t quite place which one. I was expecting a sunny meadow of flowers, but coming out of the bottle it hits you straight with orange. Then it matures, turning slightly woody and powdery. I catch a very brief wink of sunlight that actually makes me a little sad. On the skin it keeps its sweetness, but on clothes it’s much stronger. I’m struggling to understand it: by one o’clock it’s already gone, and by six it’s nothing even on the fabric. It’s not bad, but it wasn’t what I was looking for.

Avon sometimes surprises, and this fragrance is a total love. It smells great, with a discrete and distinguished elegance, soft and powdery. The bergamot enters without dominating, yielding to a glorious pear balanced with a playful quince. Then comes a rich amber that ties everything together, leaving me with a delicious jasmine and Tiare flower. I bought two bottles on sale after testing it on a sample. I love it for its clean, sober scent. It doesn’t have a beastly trail; it stays close to the skin, maybe lingers more on clothes; for the price, you can’t ask for more. Very much in the style of Lancôme’s Idole.

  3. Naihathor

Soft, sweet, with the sweetness of fruits, especially ripe peaches. It feels solar and luminous, very pleasant. I’m testing it in the heat and it performs quite well. The projection lasts an hour and a half to two hours, it’s quite noticeable, then it settles close to the skin. The longevity is between four and five hours.

  7. Clásica

Rare Flowers Solar Narcissus is super feminine, with the distinction of the Rare collection but more modern. Like the whole line, it starts with white flowers, combined with the sweetness of quince (the predominant note for me) and amber. I consider it formal, but less classic and intense than Rare Gold. It reminds me of Today, but sweeter (I find Today a bit bitter). Although it tends to dry down a bit powdery, it’s not a typical musky floral; I’d describe it as a fruity floral. The longevity isn’t beastly like other Rares, but it beats six hours with moderate projection. Excellent option for spring-summer, daily wear, casual or semi-formal. Who will like it: lovers of amber and the Rare collection.

In the heart notes, it smells like Rare Gold, that gem Avon pulled from catalog in Argentina years ago and made a fatal mistake by, leaving behind some bad specimens. Rare Gold was a unique jewel, nothing like designer perfumes. It was super long-lasting and oily; although Rare Flowers doesn’t have those qualities, it’s special for that subtle resemblance to its old grandfather. A charming scent, next acquisition for my collection. If you know Rare Gold, I highly recommend it.

In its middle notes, it reminds me of Rare Gold, that discontinued Avon gem in Argentina that was a terrible mistake. Rare Gold was a one-of-a-kind jewel, superior to many designer scents, very long-lasting and oily. While Rare Flowers lacks those qualities, it has a subtle resemblance to its ‘old grandfather’. It’s a charming fragrance, a future addition to my collection. Highly recommended if you know Rare Gold.

  10. I liked the scent. I thought the solar notes would be stronger, but it’s a fruitier, lighter version of Avon’s Tomorrow. They aren’t the same, but you can definitely detect the apricot and peach—the apricot is more acidic. What disappointed me was the longevity, which is very low: after two hours, it’s barely detectable on the skin, even though I applied five sprays to hydrated skin. I wouldn’t pay full price, but I bought it on sale. I’ll enjoy it at home this spring and summer, but I won’t repurchase. Edit: I wore it in summer and it lasted three hours. It’s good for work mornings, a cheerful touch. Soft but delicious. I still think it’s not an EDP, but it smells divine.

  11. Sandra Cabezas271282

Avon Rare Flowers Solar Narcissus eau de parfum is an entry-level summer fragrance. It’s not the typical citrus, but rather floral and ambered, fresh and subtle, yet noticeable and very pleasant, with a clean scent that makes you feel fresh. A bit like Today, but not much, because it has its own character. For ages 15 and up, lasts 2-3 hours with a medium trail.
