Far Away Royale by Avon is a floral fragrance for women. Launched in 2020, this composition was created by Verônica Casanova and Jean-Marc Chaillan. I absolutely love its floral, woody, balsamic, and sweet scent. Incense and myrrh dominate, bathed in the sweetness of vanilla, patchouli, and saffron. The floral and woody notes blend beautifully. Perfect for winter; despite its potent ingredients, the fragrance feels soft and non-intrusive.
Far Away Royale by Avon: spicy, oriental, and sweet opening, similar to the other Far Away scents. You can detect myrrh, saffron, and amber wrapped in an enveloping vanilla. It feels elegant and slightly vintage, with moderate sillage lasting 3-6 hours. Perfect for autumn and winter evenings and nights, for events, and for those over 25. Great price and quality.
Far Away Royale by Avon: Spiced, oriental, and sweet opening, very similar to the other Far Away scents. You can detect myrrh, saffron, and amber wrapped in an enveloping vanilla. Excellent fragrance that lasted days in my hair (a little got on my neck when I applied it). It fits my skin perfectly, and if you like spicy oriental scents like CK Obsession with vanilla, you’ll definitely love it. Just note, it’s not for very young girls.
Watch out! Don’t buy this blindly. I ordered a sample first, and honestly, it gave me nausea. The cilantro note is really annoying and smells cheap.
I bought it just because it was super cheap and out of curiosity to see if it resembled Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale. I have to say: it’s about 75-80% similar. Vanille Fatale is more complex, with more phases and a spicier profile, while Far Away Royale has a similar opening but is more linear, sweeter, vanilla-forward, and I think easier to enjoy. The sillage and longevity are really good. It’s my first purchase from this brand and it pleasantly surprised me.
I bought it just because it was very cheap and I couldn’t resist the curiosity to see if it resembles Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale. I must say: it’s 75-80% similar. While Vanille Fatale is much more complex, goes through many more phases, and feels spicier, Far Away Royale has a similar opening but is more linear, sweeter, more vanilla-forward, and I think more accessible to the general public. The sillage and longevity are quite good. It’s my first time buying a perfume from this brand, and it pleasantly surprised me.
Far Away Royale is elegant yet complex. The opening and heart are heavily spiced, but it transitions spectacularly into a classic, oriental vanilla accord (not lactonic) as it dries down. In my opinion, this delicious vanilla is the most memorable part, making it an extremely sophisticated, balsamic fragrance that feels more expensive than it is. It has a soft sillage and a minimum longevity of six hours. Excellent for autumn, winter, and special occasions since it’s quite versatile. For lovers of oriental and balsamic fragrances, it’s a great option at a super price; however, it’s not suitable for blind buys. Who will like it: fans of non-lactonic vanilla.
Very rich on the opening, sweet and spicy. It lasts quite a bit, with a stronger vanilla note later that I absolutely love.
Avon’s absolute bombshell. I love that this company makes fragrances this complex and elegant at such an incredible price point. I adore it in every phase, though the spicy opening can be a bit intimidating at first before settling into something spectacular. The plum notes remind me a bit of Decadence, I don’t get much bergamot, but the coriander really stands out. In my experience, they skip the florals to let a stunning vanilla take center stage. This is the sophisticated, dark, glamorous kind—not a dessert scent. It seems to have a hint of leather too, even if it’s not listed. Perfect for cool weather and special occasions. The performance is excellent for the price. I suggest grabbing the travel size first since this isn’t a scent for everyone.
Smells like a high-end designer fragrance. I don’t know the Tom Ford one, but it reminds me of Dior’s Addict, just more vanilla-forward. Great sillage and lasting power. It doesn’t feel youthful; I’d recommend it for women 25 and up.
Amazing Avon perfume! I love that they make fragrances this complex and elegant at such an excellent price. I love it in all its phases, though the spicy opening is a bit scary at first until it settles and becomes spectacular. The plum reminds me of Decadence; I don’t really smell the bergamot, but the coriander stands out. On my skin, the flowers fade to let a spectacular vanilla take the lead. It’s one of those well-elegant, dark, and glamorous scents—not a dessert scent. It doesn’t list leather, but it seems to have a hint of it. Ideal for cool weather and special occasions. Excellent performance for the price. I suggest ordering the travel size first because this isn’t a scent everyone will like.
No doubt: cilantro, jasmine, and vanilla, in that order. It’s very long-lasting, staying just as strong hours after application and even leaving clothes scented. It’s very special; I consider it more gourmand or spicy than floral, so it’s not for everyone. It’s an excellent perfume with an exquisite blend and quality. Highly recommended. P.S.: I suggest trying it before buying.
Without a doubt, coriander, jasmine, and vanilla are the main notes. It’s very long-lasting, persisting just as strongly from the first moment for hours and leaving clothes scented. It’s very special; I consider it more gourmand or spicy than floral, so it’s not for everyone. It’s a very good perfume with an exquisite combination and quality. Highly recommended. P.S.: I suggest trying it before buying.
Investing in this perfume is a great choice: it’s elegant and accessible. I was instantly in love; you can really smell the vanilla and myrrh. It makes you feel distinguished, with noticeable woody, powdery, and leather notes—wow, it’s a delicious explosion. Just one thing: TRY IT BEFORE BUYING.
It’s sweet and spicy, not really suitable for a teenager, but perfect for a woman over 25. It doesn’t have that ‘vintage’ vibe (let alone grandma-like), nor is it all flowers and sweetness.
If you’re thinking of this perfume expecting something sweet, it’s a resounding NO. It smells like incense and myrrh. I get a vintage vibe and zero gourmand notes.
Far Away Royale and the word ‘sweet’ do not go together. I did well to try it before wanting to buy it, because I read wonderful reviews and then ended up… confused. A totally intense and strong perfume down to the bone, vintage, nothing modern or youthful. I know there’s no age for perfumes, but this smells like a typical older lady’s aroma. Under no circumstances should you buy it blindly. It doesn’t work for me, and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Far Away Royale and the word ‘sweet’ don’t go together. I’m so glad I tested it before buying; I read amazing reviews and then I was left confused. It smells intense and strong right to the bone, vintage, nothing modern or youthful. I know age isn’t a factor in perfumes, but it sounds like an aroma for an older lady, and that’s exactly what comes to my mind. Under no circumstances should you buy blind. It’s not for me and I wouldn’t recommend it.
Far Away Royale, the dry down on my skin is pure Obsession by Calvin Klein, very delicious 😊
For me, one of the best perfumes Avon has ever released. But although perfumes have no age or gender, I don’t see it on young girls who love sweet scents; in that case, I recommend trying it first. The quality-to-price ratio is excellent; it doesn’t feel artificial, and the Peru balsam note sits very well on my skin. I own almost all the Far Away line, and in my taste (which is personal), this is the best. With a touch of freshness and for evening/night, it seems exquisite and reminds me of very expensive perfumes. But it’s not for everyone; if you love strange, niche-type perfumes, don’t let the price stop you from smelling it, I hope they don’t reformulate it.
Great perfume; the dry down is a spicy, warm, and sophisticated vanilla. I detect incense, myrrh, patchouli, and some spices, all wrapped in that dark vanilla, making it mysterious. It has very good longevity, which adds points. It’s perfect for autumn and winter!
That perfume is truly impactful and luxurious! Super similar to Vanille Fatale by Tom Ford! It has over 8 hours of longevity on my skin and about 3 hours of projection, very well constructed. For lovers of good quality vanilla, here is a boozy, elegant, and prominent vanilla! 10
This perfume is truly impactful and luxurious! It’s super similar to Tom Ford’s Vanille Fatale. It lasts over 8 hours on my skin and projects for about 3 hours. Very well constructed, perfect for lovers of high-quality vanilla: here you get a boozy, elegant, and prominent vanilla. 10 points.
This perfume is a gem, Avon’s latest great hit in quality and longevity. My mom has it; she applies it in the morning, and by mid-afternoon, you can still smell it in the hallway. It’s an oriental vanilla scent, very delicious.
SEXY! It’s a ball of cinnamon, very tasty. It’s not gourmand, but wow, what a beautiful perfume. The dry down is the best part! It’s among my favorites in the line.
Aayy Avon, you finally nailed it with an honorable mention, you’ve outdone yourself with such beauty. It’s like entering a Buddhist temple with a thousand sticks of deliciously smoking incense, an ode to majestic and elegant the East, with an exquisite halo of mystery. Very much in the style of MAGIC NOIRE by Lancome, NU by YSL, but closer to ABSOLU by ROCHAS. I’ve detected myrrh, vanilla, and Peru balsam, but above all, the attar-like myrrh, which is one of my favorite aromas. I’ve bought three bottles and I’ll make sure to get many more of this immense richness. I’ve definitely adored it, love at first sniff! The most wonderful thing is that it smells like millionaire luxury at a laughable price! It reminds me so much of my beloved DIOR ADDICT. It’s like lighting up inside a censer and getting lost in a bath of resins, incense smoke, and anointing yourself with magical ointments from a mystical East.
Today I want to talk about its longevity and the resemblance many see to Hypnotic Poison… Here’s the deal: the opening is intense and lasts about 2 hours. Then it fades, and by hour 5 it’s skin scent. Projection and sillage? Strong for the first 2 hours, then it drops… Is it similar to Hypnotic Poison? Hmm, no. I don’t see it. Maybe they share notes, but it’s not the same. It is definitely strong, exquisite, smelling like a designer fragrance and not a catalog one. I tested one on each side and the answer is a definite no. In the opening, it’s more potent than Hypnotic, but when it settles to skin scent, it loses out to Hypnotic, which, though softer, lingers longer on the skin. Note: this is my experience; for others, it might be different (pH matters). In summary, it’s a very rich, sophisticated perfume of great quality, and the best part is that it’s affordable and worth it.
Today this perfume arrived that I ordered blind, guided by reviews. And… Wow, it’s a bomb!!! Delicious. I never liked the first Far Away, so I never wanted to buy any of their new releases. But this is a beast. For me, it’s a flanker of ‘Midnight’, a perfume Avon released years ago that came to my country’s catalog just once. (I’m not sure if they still sell it elsewhere) but it was delicious and super long-lasting. I still have its bottle… So, surprise upon spraying it and remembering it… Totally recommended if you like strong and long-lasting perfumes. It owes nothing to designer fragrances. It’s a fine and sophisticated aroma. I know many look down on catalog perfumes. But watch out, Avon has very good perfumes, and several, not just this one, seem like designer scents themselves. I say this with authority; I’ve been an Avon consultant for over 20 years. So if you’re a lover of good perfumes, don’t hesitate to add it to your collection. And since we’re at it, here are other Avon perfumes that are excellent: Treselle, Attraction, Far Away Infinite, Lucky Me, Lov/u, Flowers. Plus, they’re affordable. Go ahead and try them, you’ll love them. Nobody would say they’re catalog scents.
If I crave an incense scent, I light a stick at home. But spicy perfumes with that incense touch? I pass. It’s an absolute bomb; nobody will deny it.
So many good reviews, but I just can’t stand it and I’m having trouble selling it because it’s not a perfume that wins people over at first glance. It’s very different from the others.
It’s delicious and cozy. Very vanilla, dusty, and spicy; I think it could be unisex. If you like fragrances like Hypnotic Poison or Amour de Kenzo, you’ll love it. It lasts 4 to 5 hours on my skin with moderate protection. No complaints for the price; I really like it.
It’s a rare and different perfume. I love the opening: spicy, fresh, and balsamic. If it stayed like that, it would be my favorite in the Far Away line. But after an hour, I don’t like it as much because a sweet aroma (Madagascar vanilla and Peru balsam) mixed with a green note that doesn’t convince me appears; it’s like a jumbled green branch mixed with a sweet that doesn’t go together. I’d prefer if it stayed in the opening or dried down more woody. Although many reviews call it intrusive or loud, it doesn’t seem that way to me. It’s wearable in cool weather, but not for jeans—more for being well-dressed. It’s not youthful, but rather serious or dark. Just to clarify, the Madagascar vanilla isn’t gourmand, but deep and dark, far from edible scents. The longevity is strong for the first 2-3 hours and then drops a lot; by 5 hours it’s barely on the skin with that green note wrapped in sweetness that I don’t like. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for something different, exotic, and less commercial. I think it’s unisex, although my husband says it tends to be feminine; I think if he’d tried it without being told it was a woman’s perfume, he’d have a different take. The bottle is pretty, elegant, and I love it on my vanity. P.S. Edited after trying it several times.
I bought it following the reviews… Oh my god, as soon as I opened it, it was pure powder. I had high expectations but I just can’t stand it.
I tried it on recommendation and it smells like something an old lady would wear; it’s invasive, gave me nausea in an enclosed space, very strong, dusty, and the vanilla smells rancid. Now I’m scared to try Hypnotic Poison since people say it’s similar.
Tastes are subjective; it’s very much a winter, nighttime, unisex scent—very rare and therefore mysterious. Longevity and projection are 10/10.
Personally, it’s one of Avon’s fragrances that has maintained its quality. The notes are very noticeable, especially the vanilla and amber which are the stars. The longevity is long and it lasts more than 10 hours on clothes. Good for any time of day, depending on how many sprays you use.
This perfume is extremely rare. I don’t know if I have a damaged batch or what, but it smells super bitter to me. It goes beyond balsamic. It’s potent, not for everyone, and I don’t recommend buying it blindly like I did, haha!
A work of art. It’s a dark, dense, balsamic, smoky, and spicy vanilla of brutal quality in an Avon bottle. Delicious. Try it before buying because it’s a jewel for everyone. Very mature with an elegant yet imposing aura. It leans more toward Dior Addict than Hypnotic Poison.
Avon Gentlemen, please don’t take this perfume off the catalog. I already have the Far Away collection and this piece is missing. Based on the reviews, it smells like a man.
