  This perfume transports me to the Obispo Street library in Old Havana, right across from San José Bakery and Taquechel Pharmacy. It’s a potent blend of rose and saffron that, when dry, smells of old, withered roses—like the one you kept in a book out of love, now smelling of dust and time alongside the aged paper. I’m not sure if it’s that memory, but it hit me hard. I love roses, but I wouldn’t wear something that evokes so much nostalgia. It’s complicated, nothing more than a museum piece you have to try before buying blind.

  Avenue Perfumista is a distinct, deep, and intellectual rose, accented with a bitter herbal note of yerba mate or perhaps hyssop that gives it real character. The ingredients are top-tier, with brutal longevity and projection: one drop and I smell it strongly for 15 hours. Although marketed for women, I see this as unisex. Give it a try; whatever your opinion, it’s a unique experience.
