TriBeCa by Bond No 9 is an oriental vanilla fragrance for men and women. Launched in 2020, this olfactory composition was created by perfumer Michel Almairac. The opening features hazelnut and cocoa, offering a sweet and toasted first impression; the heart reveals the elegance of sambac jasmine alongside cedar wood; and the base settles on a warm foundation of ambroxan, caramel, and moss.

  • I bought this perfume without expecting it to sound like BCR540, and if it does have that touch, honestly I like this one more, but it remains another dupe of the original Baccarat 540.

This is a special and delicious perfume, sweet but not cloying, a scent that makes my mouth water. Caramel, cocoa, and soft woody notes dominate. I have no regrets about the purchase: I wore it Wednesday afternoon and could smell it on my neck all day; people kept asking what I was wearing, and my boyfriend wouldn’t stop telling me how good it smelled. The next day I showered and it was still there; I put on another perfume, and Tribeca’s scent kept coming through. Another day passed, I showered again, and it was still there. I told my boyfriend I was crazy, but he could still smell it; he said he noticed it too. That night I couldn’t detect it, but the next day I smelled it in the car again! No joke! Thank God it was the seatbelt where it had soaked in. Its longevity is insane; it’s never happened with any other perfume, so I rated it 10/10. The scent is delicious, and the bottle, ugh, better not even talk about it.

Indeed, it reminds me of BR540, with that touch common in cheap ‘dupes’ like Burberry Her or Cloud, but there’s something more here. In my opinion, it’s sweeter and more gourmand than Bacarat; that hazelnut and caramel blend makes it sublime without being cloying. It’s pure sophistication, and unlike Bacarat, I can smell it all day.

  • Etomsicha

It sounds playful and sweet to me, though I’m not sure why I got that impression. The longevity, however, is top-notch.

It’s the improved version of Baccarat, more elegant and projects more in my opinion. It’s one of the best perfumes from the Bond house, and I sometimes like to mix it with Baccarat 540. It’s a fragrance that isn’t overwhelming but is still potent.

  • Zero resemblance to BR540! Everyone compares everything to that scent now. No, Tribeca is totally gourmand; it literally smells like you’re walking down the street and suddenly you smell an upscale bakery or café (haha) where everything smells like caramel or cocoa 🙂 BR540 doesn’t seem gourmand to me; it feels more like a sweet fragrance that isn’t gourmand.

  • It doesn’t resemble the BR540 at all. Everyone compares it to that scent. The BR540 doesn’t seem gourmand to me; it’s more sweet without being gourmand.

I just tried it and it’s a beautiful perfume. But checking Fragrantica, I see they associate it with Baccarat. Nothing alike. Both are exquisite in their own right.

  • It might be somewhat similar to the BR540, but never a dupe or clone of it. For me, it’s a scent that overflows with sweetness; on my skin, it smells like honey with cocoa, hazelnuts, jasmine, cedar, and caramel. Fantastic and long-lasting. The opening is impactful because it resembles that one a lot, but if you wait for it to dry down, it will surprise you. Great trail and excellent longevity. I see it as perfectly unisex; if you like sweetish scents, you’ll be captivated.

It’s not exactly a dupe of Baccarat. It’s one of its many cousins, sharing family traits but not identical. Just as Cloud is BR540 with coconut and whipped cream, Burberry Her is the berries version and Instant Crush is the floral and musk one. This is the caramel and chocolate cousin. Delicious. It’s extremely cozy, sophisticated, and almost edible. Excellent performance; its longevity and projection are magnificent.

  • This perfume is spectacular. It’s sweet but not cloying. When I wear it, I want to eat myself. It’s the perfect definition of gourmand. Incredible. I’ve had it for three days and haven’t worn it out at night, but I imagine it must be delicious. 100/100.

  • Gourmand Bottle

I’m surprised no one talks about the opening; maybe the ambroxan or moss gives it a dirty or animalic touch. It’s not terrible, but it’s noticeable and annoying. After five minutes, it disappears, leaving a creamy aroma very similar to Ariana Grande’s Cloud. I smell hazelnut cream with cocoa, quite pleasant and nothing too loud. Very delightful.

  • Gentil vagabond

It’s not a bad perfume, but the ambroxan drags it down. Don’t buy it blindly. It’s not a bad fragrance; the hazelnut and that indefinable sweet note make it interesting, but you have to try it to know what you’re getting.

  • Cindyballesterost

It’s a rich, quite sweet perfume with vanilla and that caramelized milk scent reminiscent of Cloud, though this one is softer. You need to moderate the amount because too much can be overwhelming, but applied well, it smells spectacular.

  • It was a blind buy and I have no regrets. It’s delicious, sweet, and smells like dulce de leche cake. It will definitely stay in my collection.

  • Daniela Fragance

I was disappointed after buying a decant that promised so much. The notes seemed like a delight, but upon smelling it, I only detected gasoline, burnt caramel, jasmine, and chemicals. For the price, it’s not worth it. Others found it equally repulsive; it causes nausea and headaches. The trail and longevity are top-notch, but the scent is a nose-attack that I have to scrub hard to remove. I’m keeping it and sometimes wonder if I exaggerated, but it always smells bad.

  • Daniela Fragance

I was disappointed after buying a decant of this perfume, which everyone spoke of in raptures and whose notes seemed like a delight to me. I thought it would be the best perfume ever, but upon smelling it, all I detected was a mix of gasoline, burnt caramel, jasmine, and chemicals. For the price of the bottle, I don’t think it’s worth it; I showed it to a couple of people, and they agreed it’s not something you’d want to smell, as it’s almost repulsive. I think the people saying it smells good are lying; there’s no way this perfume is pleasant, it causes nausea and headaches. I had to scrub the area where I applied it very hard because the scent was also very hard to remove. As for sillage and longevity, it’s a 10, but let’s be clear, it’s not pleasant. I keep it stored and occasionally smell it, thinking maybe I exaggerated the other times, but it’s always like a punch to the nose.

  • I’m not sure if it’s my skin, but to me, it smells very much like Burberry Her and stays that way until it dries down.

  • It’s rich and has nothing to do with Baccarat Rouge 540. If there’s anything similar, it’s Honor & Glory, but it’s not a dupe. On my skin, the hazelnut and cedar stand out, followed by the sweetness of caramel and jasmine. I truly loved it.

  • Tribeca is an absolute treat. Notes of amber, caramel, hazelnut, cedar, and ambroxan make it sensual and addictive. It has nothing to do with BR540 or Lattafa’s Honor & Glory. The performance is marvelous, though the price is questionable. I recommend it, but trying it first is key because its profile might not suit everyone.

  • jennyalexa

It’s an almost perfect twin to Burberry Her. I own both, and the only difference is the trail, which is much more potent on Tribeca, but the scent itself is identical.

  • Mitafragance

I feel brave enough to compare it to Similar Scents: to me, it smells like Pas de Soir extrait, but creamier and hazelnutty. The opening has nothing to do with Burberry Her, Baccarat Rouge, or Animalica; it’s a sweet, light freshness that I thought was bergamot, but I probably just imagined it.

  • For the price, I tried a 10ml decant. At first, the burnt caramel note was excessive and overwhelming, though it lasted a long time. After several attempts, I put it away. Months later, the musk has dominated the blend, softening the initial sweetness and adding hazelnut and a touch of moss. Now it smells pleasant, but given the cost, I still think it’s overpriced.
