Look, total confession: I tested it last night at 10 PM, and today, over 24 hours later, it’s still clinging to my wrist. It’s not intrusive, but it has a magnificent presence, very typical of gourmands. Just a heads-up, we’re in Argentina, and last night the Santa Rosa storm hit: rain, clouds, cool, and humid. I think that’s why it exploded into full splendor; it’s ideal for cold, fresh climates or spring nights. On the other hand, from the start, it’s a gourmand with masculine touches, but once it settled, it brought back a scent memory I didn’t expect: the beautiful Hypnotic Poison by Dior. For god’s sake, it’s almost identical. Comparing notes, they share everything except the amber. Dior is more complex, fruity, and acidic, but that realistic vanilla is identical, exquisite. I love that with so few notes they managed to create something so well-made. I know I’m not a gourmand fan, but I’m getting this for its beastly longevity and those vintage vibes. Packaging 10/10, longevity 100/10, sillage 8/10 (edit: when I buy it).

I tested it today and immediately knew I wasn’t going to buy it. I thought, “I already have one, which one does this remind me of?”. It took me three minutes to remember where I had tested this scent, and of course, I haven’t worn my Girl of Now by Elie Saab in a while, but there it was: Olympea Absolu smelling shamelessly identical. The only difference I found is that this one is more jasmine and the other more orange blossom; the rest is almost identical. So when I say almost identical, I mean I wouldn’t even think it was a flanker; if I smelled it on someone else, I wouldn’t say it’s Girl of Now, I’d say it IS Girl of Now. I loved it anyway; it doesn’t resemble the other Olympeas I’ve tried.

  3. I went to try it thinking the center detail was a moon (“no, it’s a pendant”), and while it’s rich, I feel it’s an easy scent, something anyone could like. I get the impression it was formulated just to please everyone, nothing more. It’s nocturnal, sweet, ambered, and creamy; I wouldn’t buy it because it doesn’t offer any olfactory novelty, but I have to admit it smells very good. I suppose if I apply enough, I’ll get compliments… I don’t notice the resemblance to GON, maybe in the dry-down where its sweet base dominates? Yes, both end up being sweet.

🙈🙈🙈🙈 next please. This is no longer Olympea. I don’t know why they compare it to Angel Elixir. It’s even worse.

To me, this Olympea is the child of Pure XS and Good Girl Legere (CH).
