I love free perfume samples from magazines! That’s how I tried this new D&G. I expected something darker and more mysterious, but it’s super sweet, almost all caramel and lychee. Very feminine and innocent, a gourmand with just a few floral/lychee notes. The sillage and longevity are medium, nothing like Devil or anything special. It reminds me a lot of CH and Shalimar Initial.
Smells amazing! Very sweet and fruity… but just fruity. It’s fine for daytime, though I’m not sure if it stands out enough for night.
I liked it, but it didn’t leave me speechless. It doesn’t last long on the skin. A friend let me borrow it, and while it’s pretty, it lacks that personal touch I’m looking for, so I didn’t buy it.

Very similar to its predecessor The One, only this one has a classic oriental vanilla touch that makes it more nocturnal and sensual; the sweet notes are very subtle, so they don’t cloy at all.
Lychee, caramel, and neroli over an amber base. Sweet, soft, and feminine. It also has an elegant side, but not as sober as the bottle suggests; I find it more playful. It’s great for first dates, dinner dates, and fun meetups… during daytime hours. I don’t see it as suitable for evening events unless it’s for going to bed. The bottle suits it well… smelling it, I imagine an outfit dominated by black, white, cream, and gold; stiletto heels, everything delicate and refined. As Aquaura said, it reminds me (a bit) of Gucci Flora EDP (for my nose in the top notes), but The One Desire is more subtle, and the vanilla touch changes everything. I didn’t detect licorice.
Its opening notes are irresistible, sweet, sparkling, and delicious… but it has very little trail and after 10 minutes there’s nothing left on the skin. It has a sad ending. Nothing nocturnal, nothing winter-like, nothing sophisticated as its packaging suggests. I think they could have done much more, since the raw materials are excellent, but now designers fall into the trendy gourmand aroma trend to satisfy popular tastes.

A delicious experience for the senses! It shares the style of the original The One, but it’s more subtle with a soft caramel, very well balanced with neroli, citrus, and resins, it doesn’t saturate and lasts me over 6 hours, but quite subtle. It develops better on cool afternoons with a breeze… very chic and elegant, I’ve loved it. The beautiful bottle, black and minimalist, goes perfectly with the fragrance.
Ideal for a quinceañera gift, it lacks mystery. Although the ingredient combination is excellent, as SISSY-EMPERATRIZ says, it lacks depth, it stays in the foreground, it has no sillage or longevity, it doesn’t transcend, it’s skin-scent, very light… what a pity, because the scent is exquisite.

I love the The One line; I can feel their seductive beauty and the Italian sensuality so characteristic of this house. Desire still has the point of the classic The One, that sharp touch more typical of oriental fragrances, but Desire is much sweeter and vanilla-forward. When it dries down, I’d say it adds a creamy coconut note that reminds me of The One Intense. It’s a nighttime and autumnal perfume with medium longevity and trail.

It’s the only The One I’ve owned, super rich. It’s suggested for going out at night, but it works great on cool afternoons whenever I feel like wearing it. The top notes are barely noticeable; what really stands out is the sweetness, the neroli, and the sandalwood. I kept it going for six years without any care, no box, sitting on an entryway table exposed to light and temperature changes. Here’s a D&G genius move: despite my poor treatment, it stayed flawless until the last drop; I understand it’s due to the perfect bottle and cap; the scent didn’t change a bit (I did the same with two other fragrances and they failed quickly, changing significantly in a short time).
